We recommend An Stor Townhouse in Midleton Ireland, if you want a homey atmosphere for your Bed and Breakfast. Within walking distance of local restaurants and stores, our hostess also offered a continental and/or full Irish breakfast the next morning.

Cheap, Cheerful, Clean and Green!! Low prices, friendly and knowledgable staff, all the amenities you could ask for, free breakfast, free internet/wi-fi, satellite TV, clean and secure, and now as green as the landscape around us. We have recently received a Silver rating from Green tourism, an organization dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment.
To finish off a great week in Cork and Kerry a friend and I had booked a twin room for two nights in Neptunes hostel Killarney. The entrance is up a dark alleyway off the road. When we arrived about 7pm the receptionist said they only had a double room and they could not offer any other rooms as they were booked out. My friend had to get accommodation elsewhere. The person there said I would get €50 refund back but he would have to see the manager first. This was after taking €160 from my debit card at 08.06 that morning. I stayed the night and talked to the manager who arrived the next day at 4pm. He said he wasn't going to give me any refund whatsoever even though I had booked a twin room. I even offered to leave that day and he could let the room to someone else. He said it was my fault and during the conversation he became agitated and came out from behind the reception to confront me in front of other guests which was very intimidating and a first for me in all the places I have stayed. He wasn't wearing a face mask to prevent covid-19 either. I'm booking this hostel for years and I always make sure I book the exact room I need. He shouted at me to "take it up with booking.com". The room was a dreary concrete cube with very little light coming in despite the big window. The bed was a plank of wood on legs and the only other furniture was a solitary chair standing in the corner. There was nowhere to put your clothes except on the floor which resembled worn out coloured sacks joined together. This might have been the award winning 'Haven' building at one time but sadly not anymore. It looked tired and worn. I had to keep the light on all the time and it was difficult to tell if it was night or day. I didn't use the kitchen so I can't comment on that. There is no parking nearby and there was no night time security when I stayed. The WiFi was non existent in the room. Neptunes is family run and it was a bad experience from the start especially dealing with the rudest man in Ireland. He didn't like me questioning his authority and once he had my money I wasn't getting it back. Our room was abviously given to someone else earlier that day. When I left I didn't look back and I won't be returning ever again. I would not recommend this place under any circumstances. There is plenty of accommodation close to the centre of town which are more friendly and cheerful.

2nd time we've stayed now. Cannot fault this place at all. Short walk into town. Toilet and shower area always kept clean. Showers are free to use, no tokens like most sites. Large kitchen area with all you need, and a nice bbq area outside too, which was ideal for the weather. Will definitely be back?

A home from home. The Grapevine Hostel in Dingle old town centre is a 100 year old townhouse with a welcoming open fire, chat, music and a friendly atmosphere... that makes it a place to linger.
My cousin & friend & I were lucky enough to find the sweet spot that is The Grapevine Hostel before our trip! It has everything you could need & want ... our room was clean & the kitchen has pretty much every utensil/pot/pan you could need to make a nice recipe (in case you need a change from the amazing food around Dingle). You are merely metres away from several pubs & shops like Lidl or Centra & I also recommend visiting Pig&Leaf (a coffee shop up the road from the hostel if caffeinated mornings are your thing) Last but definitely not least were the amazing people... Alexandre and Julius were super chill & welcoming - you'll be in good hands :)

Portree is an elegant, city center townhouse situated in a quiet cul de sac, yet just a few minutes walk from both train and bus station and all amenities such as shops, restaurants, pubs, theaters, cinemas and clubs. It has 22 en suite bedrooms, a large guest lounge and private free car parking for guests.
A great location for walking round the city. Having a parking space is good, but it can not be guaranteed and so I always got back early from my days out to get a spot. The rooms are a bit basic but I didnt mind as I was spending most of the time elsewhere. The breakfast whilst decent quality really was a very small portion that required me to buy a second breakfast elsewhere each day

We spent some wonderful days at the blacksheep hostel in killarney. The hostel is decorated really nice and equipped with everything you need. Also everything is clean and in a good condition. The people there are kind and the staff is amazing. They are always really friendly and also provide a lot of ideas what you can do in the area. Renting bikes worked out so good, just like everything else :)

If you are absolutely desperate for a place to sleep then this could be a great option. But if you can stay anywhere else I would. Dirty towels. Uncomfortable beds, small covers, toilet barely flushes. Also they want you to mop the bathroom which I don’t mind but there was a bucket already filled with previous water which really grossed me out. The fire alarm started going off randomly in the morning so everyone got a nice alarm clock. Personally if I ever had to come back here I would use there camping area in the back and would have rather stayed in my tent.

O'Briens Cashel Lodge Is a family run guest house situated within easy walking distane of the ROck of Cashel ,Hoare Abbey and the town of Cashel. We have had three different names ( obriens farm house hostel. Holiday Lodge) as we have developed over the last 25 Years . O'Brien's Cashel lodge is the name we have settled on , it covers the many options that we give our guests , Bed and Breakfast ,Self catering or caravan and camping. There is private parking and WiFi for all our guests.
My wife and our four children loved our stay. Tom, Bríd and their family are wonderful hosts. Upon arriving, we were greeted and checked in by their daughter. She immediately asked if we had any reservations for dinner (we did not), made some suggestions and then booked a spot. The rooms were comfortable and more than enough. It’s quite amazing what they have done with an old stable house over the course of 30 years. Their B&B is directly across from a beautiful Abbey and a short walk to the Rock of Cashel. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a large hostel that didn't have many guests. Maybe that's why it has applied to convert to 6 self-contained holiday apartments! It has a good kitchen and dining room and my room had the basic facilities I paid for.
