Langkawi is a serene archipelago of 140 islands – only a few of which are inhabited. The largest of these is the eponymous Langkawi Island, which has UNESCO World Geopark status because of its richly populated (by wildlife, that is) conservation areas. The best way to experience these ecological wonders is from high above, on the Langkawi Sky Bridge that stretches above the rainforest. Cheekily-named Pregnant Maiden freshwater lake is a great place to take a dip or play keep-away with the kleptomaniac monkeys.

Honestly, we like to equate your stay in our small guest houses akin to humility and humbleness. The Cottage Langkawi offers a myriad of rooms including normal Backpackers Hostel with ceiling fan. We have rooms categorised under Cottage, Standard and Budget. All rooms come with air conditions. Although breakfast is not provided, coffee & tea, hot and cold drinking water are always at your disposal 24/7. If you like rustic and quaint countryside and you don't mind humbling yourselves, you will love our small guest houses. We are located in a peaceful, somewhat laidback 'kampong' (village) settings, about 150m from the main Chenang beach road. It is the natural setting of a place you can call home. You can see roosters scratching for food and even cattle roaming freely. In fact, listening to the birds chirping at the break of dawn or the sounds of crickets and frogs in the wee of night are an added sweet pleasure to the ears. Moreover, you'd thoroughly enjoy those quiet walks with your friends and companions to the villages nearby to take a peek on the lives of the rural folks or just snap a postcard-perfect photo of the natural setting of the Chenang beach or of the villages. If you tire yourselves, drop by at the Chenang main street to sip our local "teh tarik" (white tea concoction) coffee or local mocktails. The main street, inundated with fancy but affordable restaurants and shops, is quite fashionable with tourists as well as locals who are always looking for some action or do some needful shopping. Needless to say, this area is a great place to connect with other travellers. Just to share some background information, Langkawi is lovely tropical island paradise with hot and high humidity climate all year round. Temperatures are fairly consistent during the day, ranging between 30°C to 35°C; just right for you do your sunbathing although you need to use lots of sun tan lotions, At night, the temperature goes down between 28°C - 29°C. You will enjoy visiting Langkawi anytime of the year. During the day, expect sunshine lasting till late afternoon and overcast skies towards the evenings. Between April till August, the island enjoys a balance of sunshine and light rainfall, making it the coolest time to visit. Langkawi's weather generally produces the most rainfall between August and September, as a result of monsoon winds. Visitors in dry season, January to April can expect sun and more sun. A word of warning though, the continually wet and warm climate in Langkawi Island will get you in a bit of a bind as this period will see the swarming of buzzing and irritating mosquitoes. But do not worry, as we provide mosquito sprays in every room. Not only that, we carry out mosquito repellent sprays in our cottage and hostel when the sun goes down. If you go outdoors, please make sure you cover yourselves with a mosquito repellent ointment called the citronella. By the way, our small guest house does not come in the form of swanky set-ups but rather it blends with nature perfectly well. We are sure that you'd love the nature to your heart content and you only need the basics during your stay, In short, the Cottage Langkawi is definitely made for you.
The owner (front Office agent) Wan is really a nice and plesant guy. Always ready to help and give advice. I Will be more than happy to come Back again. My husband and me enjoyed our stay. The spot is not far away from Beach And restaurant.

Rembulan Langkawi is located on the outskirts of Cenang Beach, approximately 450m away from the pristine Cenang beach front. It is an idyllic island retreat with exposed brickwork and stunning artwork on the common area. An ideal base to explore Langkawi. Well within the budget for any discerning travelers that seeks peaceful nights under the moon, hence the name Rembulan which means The Moon in English language.
The hostel was mostly clean, the beds were comfy and there was enough room for everyone. The staff was very friendly and always quick to help! The hostel is close to town and everything it around walking distance. To get around more you need to get a scooter though.

Loved our stay here! Felt so welcome from our very first day. We had a private room, very clean, comfy, good hot shower (used on cold most up often due to the heat!). Cups for the complimentary tea & coffee as well as a water dispenser. It is down a little road so very quiet & peaceful whilst still being 5 minutes away from the main road & beach. Breakfasts are available, Irene makes a great banana bread and the cinnamon buns were also excellent! Would definitely return if visiting Langkawi again.

I would prefer to give 0 stars. The rooms are discusting, totally smelly and full of really big cockroaches. It was my badest stay in langkawi. The chairs on the „terrace“ are not clean so don’t sit on them with bright pants.

We Really enjoyed our time at Boxpackers hostel! The rooms and common room are very clean, the AC and the sheets are really nice. But most of all, the owner is great and very helpful. We needed Some help with getting ferry tickets and he fixed it for us! Also, he tries to get the different guests in contact with each other. Helping to find people who need the Same cab etc.

The room was pretty simple but in good condition. I clocked the WiFi to a perfectly stable 138Mb/s. There's an electric kettle to boil water and two mugs but no spoons. There was no room cleaning during my 4 night stay, which really didn't bother me. The beach road is just a short walk away with many food choices nearby. There's also a 24h minimart around the corner. On the minus side there's not much in terms of sound isolation, and while there's no traffic outside, you can hear the other guests and kids screaming, so the mornings were a bit noisy. The bed was ok apart from the cover which was a synthetic fur blanket.

Belukar Lodges is located in the heart of Langkawi; merely 7 minutes drive to Chenang Beach, 5 minutes drive to Langkawi International Airport and about 12 minutes drive to Ferry Terminal Kuah. Every room is specially designed for youth backpackers, small families or group travellers who love cool designed rooms in the midst of an authentic kampung setting. Each room caters up to 5 pax!
No toilet roll, no drinking water, no staff to help. Texting them but they never reply. Even a 10USD budget hotel provides simple toiletries & drinking water. Sitting middle inside the village and there's no single shop can be found. Worst place ever!

Small rooms but clean and cosy. Straight forward and no frills at all. Rented a car from them as well and they are so simple and honest people. Love it and definitely will try their other property , Best Seven Motel when in Langkawi .

Hostel is cozy, spacious and clean. Restaurants and duty free stores are nearby. Stable WiFi and strong air-con. Good place to meet other travelers and chill. Hosts are super friendly. They will show you around and even cook for you! Shouldn't miss this if you would like to have a cheerful holiday in Langkawi!

So glad we found this restaurant near our hotel. The food was really good and cheap. Amazing cocktails and all priced under £2 ?. The food was that good we have done back two nights in a row. Would definitely recommend eating here!!
