The RomeHello

The idea to open The RomeHello popped up in my mind a few years ago. Many of the international friends I had met during my own European travels would ask me for suggestions on where to find a cheap and nice place to stay in my home city of Rome. But, even after some research, I didn’t find anything fitting for them. And I thought it was senseless that a city like Rome, with all it has to offer, was kind of prohibitive for young tourists. So as my family has worked in tourism for many years, I decided to involve them in the project of opening a hostel in our city - to make it not only ours but everyone’s. Also, I decided to combine the project with my intention to do something good for the others. So I turned the hostel into a non-profit social enterprise, with the aim of changing the economic thinking of standard companies.

Superb

Nohing really bad to say, if you need something, they will usually help. The rooms were clean, I had no issues with anyone in my room. Don't expect the food to be fantastic, but I don't really are for it. I was still able to get full and I prefer paying what I pay for a hostel than some hotel that charges triple for a room.

Generator Venice

Generator Venice stands on the waterfront of the island of Giudecca, one shortstop on the Vapporetto from Piazza San Marco. Our Venice hotel was originally a warehouse, so the building blends history and character with contemporary design features. Inside the hotel, you’ll find luxurious mosaic floors, a glass chandelier, and an imposing stone fireplace. Public spaces are subtly split into intimate and open-plan areas – all surrounding the bar and cafe. Every room has a view of either the gardens, Lido, Grande Canal, or the iconic San Marco. Not bad, eh? -- Please note that due to the global pandemic, some venues, amenities, and services may have been eliminated or scaled down for the safety of our guests and staff. Please contact the hotel should you have any questions or concerns.

Obscenely Expensive, Beware of hidden costs

Reviewed By Curious655880

Will cost you €7 everytime you want to get on the island or leave the island unless you buy day/week travel pass. Charged €135 for one night to have a locker with a broken lock so couldn’t leave personal belongings in room when going out, people drinking alcohol outside reception on hostel furniture and being loud until after 1am in the morning preventing me from sleeping, broken lock on toilet door, broken items in shower and unhelpful staff. Beware, advice stay on main island with a local company/person and avoid this chain. They don’t care about your well being just taking your money!

The Beehive

Rome's homiest and most chill hostel since 1999, we're a sanctuary in the midst of a bustling city. From the moment you walk in, The Beehive is the kind of place where you'll feel at home. It's walking barefoot down to the cafe for your morning coffee; getting helpful advice & recommendations; eating great food; drinking local organic wine and having a good night's sleep. Located conveniently just two blocks from Rome's central train station, Termini, you won't have to lug a heavy backpack or luggage all around town. Our relaxed vibe and casually stylish atmosphere are perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Whether you're traveling solo, with friends or family, or as a couple, we have a variety of room types to suit all needs and budgets: dorm beds (including several female only dorms), private rooms with shared bathroom and private rooms with private bathrooms.

Excellent Hostel

Reviewed By SilkRoadTraveler

Beehive is a very well run hostel with excellent facilities and an outstanding staff. There are lots of activities and the location is fantastic - easy access to trains, buses and the subway. I stayed in a private room which was more spacious than I expected. There are two locations and although they are close to each other, I recommend staying in the main building. My only issue was that coffee was not readily available in the morning.

Plus Florence

The best hotel we have ever stayed!

Reviewed By irenkalo

We stayed at Plus Florence from April 27 to May 2nd 2022. The first surprise came when we entered the room we had booked. Upon entering the room this was like an oven. The room did not have air conditioning because, as we were told, the scheduled seasonal maintenance had not yet taken place. In addition, there were several dead mosquitoes on the walls, which had not been cleaned. When we asked for a room change we were told that this was one of their best rooms because it overlooked part of the cathedral. They accepted our complaints and changed our room. Here the second surprise was waiting for us. We could not sleep at night even with earplugs because the hotel was flooded with traveling students, who gathered every night in front of the hotel entrance and had fun, without any intervention from the hotel staff. The problem was exacerbated by an irish pub that was also opposite the entrance and was a disaster until the early hours of the morning. When I desperately went and told them the problem they made fun of me by telling me that I am asking for a change a second time and they do not have a room available. After that our stay was a nightmare, we waited for the five days of our stay to pass, we were constantly tired and did not enjoy our vacation in this incredibly beautiful city. Our stay at this hotel was the worst we have ever had!

Amazing hostel

Reviewed By Sean_12349

This has been my favourite hostel experience. The staff are welcoming, the guests staying there are always nice too. I'm sad I had to leave, but I had an amazing time here. The only fault I had was the shower wasn't great. You had to move the dial really gently otherwise you'd either get freezing water, or hot water. The hostel has a happy hour in the evening where they offer free wine to their guests to encourage them to talk to other travellers. For the 4 nights I stayed here, I would make sure I was back from my day out to enjoy the free wine and good company and many others during my stay did the same also. One of the employees, Mario, was amazing. He would encourage guests to talk to each other, he would join everyone in the garden for a beer or two after his shift and he would get to know the guests really well. He showed a large group of us to a bar that was open late at night and on the last night, he cooked a large pasta dish with muscles for the group which tasted AMAZING! It's in a prime location too. The metro/train station/ bus station was a 5-10 min walk away. The Colosseum was a 25 min walk away, there were plenty of nearby restaurants and a coffee shop on the same street. There are local mini markets close by too. Very little to fault on this place. I will always remember this experience and I'd 100% live it all over again. Thank you for an amazing time!

Booked a day trip out to the mountains / desert with Mosaic and highly recommend it - it was well-coordinated, easy pickup/ drop off, and excellent tour guides. We reached out to them on WhatsApp and we’re able to set everything up online. On the morning of the trip, our driver picked us up directly at our Airbnb.
