Founded in the 1530s, Ecuador's largest city and main port is the top access point for Galapagos cruises and home to a bustling import-export business. Tourism is on the rise as well, thanks to a new international airport and urban renewal projects along the River Guayas promenade and in the historic neighborhood of Las Peñas. The 465-step climb to the top of Santa Ana Hill provides sweeping views and a chance to stand on the site of the city's birthplace.

Located in Guayaquil city centre on the west bank of the River Guayas, this hostel offers free Wi-Fi access throughout the property and a restaurant, serving freshly-prepared local and international dishes. Guests can relax on the balcony, offered with some rooms, and take in the view of the city. Private bathrooms are offered in some rooms of Manso Boutique Hostal while others have access to shared facilities. Simon Bolivar Airport is just 5 km away.
Great location and friendly staff. They offer free breakfast and coffee/tea. I like to sit on the balcony and look out. The room and bathroom are old and don't look clean. The shower was small and the metal soap holder sticking out scratched my arm.

We first arrived at Casa Michael in the middle of the night. Michael himself helped our driver (from another city), navigate through the streets of Guayaquil. Then he helped us book flight to the Galápagos for the next morning, and when the airline unjustifiably tried to charge us an extra fair, he instantly arrived at the airport. We felt extremely safe to leave our heavy luggage and even our computer at the hostel for ten days, and when we were back from the Galápagos, we received a warm welcome. The hostel is super clean, beds are comfortable, there is very good a/c, hot water, and breakfast is good and served with a smile. You can also use the kitchen to cook your own meals. In addition, the hostel is situated in a quiet street just off a main street with many shops and places to eat, which felt very safe to walk around with kids even in the evening, and also a ten minute drive from the airport. No doubt we would go back whenever we are in Guayaquil.

We offer affordable accommodation for backpackers and travelers who enjoy a chill, peaceful and cosy place to stay in while in the city chaos. Our facilities are design to offer a friendly atmosphere where you'll feel like home. Having lots of common areas to invite all of you to feel like part of our family. Nucapacha is in Urdesa Central, a safe and quiet neighborhood, yet close to bars, restaurants, night clubs, banks and more.
The hostel is nice and comfortable and - what made it very special for me - the people (the owner as well as the volunteers) are just amazingly friendly and helpful. I stayed their three times during my entire trip and I really felt like coming home. Apart from several activities like free walking tours and yoga, they also offer very good vegan food in their café. I do highly recommend.

?? Top: I arrived with the night bus from Peru at about 8am and could rest in another room until my room was ready! The staff is so friendly and helpful! I felt really comfortable! The showers are nice and the location is just great! A small breakfast was also included! ?? Flop: Don’t give them your clothes to wash! It was a big disappointment and an absolute no-go how I got my laundry back. I noticed it when I already left! More than a half of the clothes was still dirty and full of stains! And the worst thing was how they ‘washed’ my down jacket. I washed it already 3 times during my travels and never got it back like this! I told them before that they should wash it with 30 degrees and don’t put it in the dryer. Obviously they didn’t care! There are 2 big holes in the size of my thumb in it and it loses all the downs through them! I have to buy a new one! :-(((

Homely and cosy hostel with private rooms, close to the airport. Great for business travelers and transit passengers in Guayaquil's city, going to or comming from: Galapagos and any other part of the Country.
We loved our overnight in Guayaquil because of Fanny and the Macaw. This hostal is open and breezy, clean with a delicious breakfast. Fanny was super attentive to our needs, walked us to an amazing restaurant across the street and arranged for us to visit a hat factory during our short stay. We highly recommend the Macaw for long or short stays!

I booked with booking.com for 2 nights in this hostel. When i arrived at the door having come from the airport I was told they had no space for me. I showed my confirmation of booking but the lady replied that she had no space and, with not so much as an apology, ushered me outside! Thankfully the taxi had waited for me and I was able to go to another hostel. If this had happened at night time I don't know what I would have done! Avoid!
