One of Poland’s most beautiful cities, Gdansk, on the Baltic Sea, has played major roles in history, especially in the 20th-century. It was the 1939 flash point of World War II, and then in 1980, the birthplace of the Solidarnosc labor movement, ushering the end of Communist domination in Eastern Europe. Gdansk’s Old Town, painstakingly reconstructed to its Hanseatic League glory after being leveled in World War II, is a highlight. The 14th-century Town Hall houses the city’s historical museum.

We invite you most sincerely to the Universus Hostel in the heart of the historic Main Town of Gdansk, a few metres from Dluga Street. Thanks to its excellent location, the Hostel is an ideal place for those who love being close to the Main Town, where you can find countless cultural and entertainment attractions. The hostel is located right in the centre of the main city just off the main street Dluga street. The accommodation is very clean and modern and the room was spacious and cosy. I would recommend a stay here if you are visiting Gdansk.

Nice location. Been here before, nice location.. I thought.. Going to sleep at night, finding someone else in my bed.. well.. fine.. Going to ask from reception that who is he, and if they could do something in this suprising situation., answer was no. I paid for the bed, didn't get to sleep there, someone else did. Good news that I managed to walk 30 kilometers during the night just not to catch cold. After multiple days I havent heard anything back from them.. Avoid at ALL costs.

World Hostel is located in the center of Gdansk, at a distance of 650 m from the central railway station. We have 12 modern rooms: For 2, 4 and 6 person. All rooms have private bathrooms, safety locker and LED TV. Breakfast, bed linen and towels are included in the price. Reception hours 8:00 a.M. To 23:00 p.M.
Good points : 1. Location : on the midway from the train station to the old town. 7 minutes to both of them. 2. Room : ensuite, very spacious. Generally clean. 3. Bed: big and comfortable, have a light and electronic socket for each bed. 4. Breakfast is included which I didn't expected. 5. Outdoor dinning area is nice. Bad points : 1. Staff : no smile, not friendly and helpful enough. They seems don't really want to work there. Cleaners are too carefree. They clean the room (includes the bathroom ) every two days. The beds was not tidied up even the guests checked out. 2. I arrived the hostel at 12 noon (which is a very reasonable time), but there is no staff there, so u have to wait outside and you don't know how long would you need to wait. 3. Wifi : very unstable and slow. 4. Breakfast : very environmental unfriendly. You throw the boxes everyday. 5. I like ensuite room provided that there are extra toilets /bathroom and sinks outside, but there are none for this hostel. 6. It will be great if they have curtain and shelf for the bed.

Just returned from a stay here and I have to say it is a great little hotel and very well located just a 10 minute stroll to the river with all its attractions. Our room was on the ground floor and was very clean spacious with a big comfortable bed. The shower room was large and there wad plenty of hot water. Our room had no view as it overlooked the parking area for some apartments behind the hotel but that didn't bother us and there was no nonoise. The staff were very helpful and really friendly. We would like to visit Gadansk again and would definitely stay there again.

Our hostel takes up two floors of a historic tenement house. Each floor has been arranged in a different mood and room configuration. What binds the two floors is great emphasison sleep comfort. Every detail has been thought over and over again in order to make you feel energetic and vigorous right after waking up. All this to fully enjoy and appreciate every single corner of our beautiful
Clean, modern hostel. Excellent location, and 5 mins walk to Hucisko bus stop where one can take the night bus N3 to the airport. Clear instructions were given by email before arrival, and everything worked out well. Just note that the hostel is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor and the building has no lift.

My worst hostel experience in Europe with a good margin. Very unpleasant experience with the staff treating different people badly. Some guy in the dorm room was speaking a little when sleeping (dream speech) for some seconds/half minute, somebody complain the next day, and they threw him out of the hostel without any explanation and in a very rude way. I think this hostel must be maybe for the owners friends only or something. The owner seems hot headed and controlling for no special reason.

Great hostel, very cheap and well located. The staff is very friendly, the prices are great and the structure is magnificent. Moreover there’s a basement with guitars, table games and a dvd player, in which you can even cook or drink something

I do not recommend. The owner is rude, unhelpful and even insolent. I booked this hotel via booking.com, there was a problem with the card, I got a message that something is wrong with my card and I need to fix it within 48 hours (generally two days before booking, I can't cancel my booking). Arrived at 11pm straight from the airport after a day of travel, the owner said no room for me anymore. and I should sleep on the street or look for something because it's none of his business. I travel a lot and have never encountered such rude hostel staff.

The hostel is great, the customer service is unbeatable, they are super friendly like the people who stay there. We have gone in winter when it was very cold and the room was the perfect temperature. The bathrooms are very clean as the kitchen. I forgot something there and as soon as I told them they sent it to me. I will come back.
