Thanks to Jeremie and Clément for being always super lovely and nice :) I will come back for sure ????

Right in the center of Bordeaux, Eklo Bordeaux Center Bastide is perfectly located in the eco-district Bastide Niel, 2 steps from the tram “Botanical Garden” and only 10‘from the city center. Eklo is a new concept of budget hotel, welcomes you with 127 rooms. It offers private rooms from 40€, shared rooms from 20€/bed, even studios for rent. Friendly & design spaces with bar & restaurant open 24/7.
Eklo, Bordeaux, is the worst run hotel I've ever stayed in, and the only one I've ever moved out of after paying. • ROOM CRAMPED AND DIRTY ON ARRIVAL (dust on surfaces from building site) • ROOM NOT SERVICED AT ALL (no explanation) • NO TOILET PAPER • TV NOT WORKING • LIGHT NOT WORKING • BASIN UNUSABLE (plug locked) • VERY NOISY DAY AND NIGHT (paper thin walls and opposite a building site) • ONE THIN PILLOW (refused another) Complaining to the receptionist when checking out a day early, she sympathised and told me she had already quit and knows just how bad this hotel is. The Hotel Manager on the other hand just hid and refused to respond in any way.

We stayed there for three nights and enjoyed its proximity to the vieille ville and all the beauty Bordeaux has to offer. The common areas are spacious, modern and clean. The room we stayed in (mixed dorm, 6beds) was tidy, the beds comfy but for sure the dorms are very small but for a city trip you don’t need more as you’re mostly out exploring places anyway. We ate breakfast there two times: you get a juice, a hot drink& a croissant for 4€! We would definitely recommend this hostel!

Excellent bar, friendly staff, local people who are singing (don‘t know where they are coming from...), mild and breezy climate, cool bar, local beer, did not try the food, nice terrace, good view, fantastic ride with the bike down to Laruns.

The Wood'n Sea Surf Lodge is a backpacker style accommodation located in a quiet area, 400 meters away from the beach and famous surf spot La Piste. Accommodation offered are double bedrooms and single beds in mixed dorms. The kitchen, bathrooms and outdoor terraces are common areas and create a sharing atmosphere that makes the Wood'n Sea Lodge the ideal place for travelers who love to share and meet people from all over the world.
We’ve stayed 10 days in the Wood’n Sea Surf Lodge. The lodge has cozy, nice, comfortable and clean rooms. The lodge is perfectly situated between the pittoresqe center of Capbreton and the beaches/boulevard. All people who stay in the lodge use the kitchen and it’s therefore a center of getting to know other guests. In the garden there are several places where you can sit alone or with other people/family. The very kind owners rent out bikes, surfboards and wetsuits, but you can also take bodyboards. We just had a wonderful time in this very chill lodge!

I must confess, I am the luxury traveler and like modern hotels with spacious rooms and equal bathrooms. This auberge is the exception to the rule. The drive uphill makes you think, where am I going and what I am going to find? How can there be a hotel here, in the middle of nowhere? Rest assured, you'll be surprised in a very good way. The auberge is located on top of the hill, in a very small village with less than 40 people. The building itself used to be a monastery a very long time ago, but continues to serve as a gathering place for the community next to its commercial nature. The owners have created a wonderful place, with keen eye to detail with respect to the ancient construction. You will find yourself in a mediaval surrounding, with reference to its past as a monastery but also with a knights-theme. And very nicely done indeed. We had the biggest room, the Galahad, with the big window overlooking the valley. All details are done to perfection: the big bed with knight on horse on bedboard, the knight on the shower enclosure, the stone tiles, everything is impeccable and superbly executed. Julie is the perfect host and cook! She served us a lovely home made three courses dinner, and made us feel at home and welcome. She is a great story teller too and we were very happy she made time to sit with us and tell us more about the building and the community she and her family are living in. I can highly recommend this place. It may have a 3 star rating but overall, the auberge deserves 5 stars in eye to detail, warmth and service.
