Just home from yet another fantastic stay at Mains of Taymouth. It just never lets us down, year after year we have enjoyed a fantastic family holiday, and only a cars drive away. The properties are all high end and the staff are just fantastic, nothing, and I mean nothing is too much trouble. We were welcomed again by the friendly staff at the reception (they remembered us!), the other staff we came across when out walking the dog were all friendly and chatty too, there is such a nice family feeling there. It is our go-to holiday place, a short drive away to another world!! Can’t recommend enough!

Unique Luxury Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs
We stayed here for the weekend and we had a great stay. The pod is immaculate. Everything is really modern and well equipped. The little welcome food pack was a lovely touch. We loved the hot tub. We enjoyed a bbq both nights. We had a trip into Keith and went on the train to Dufftown- the kids loved this. We would highly recommend and would definitely return ?.

Melfort Village, near Oban, nestled on the shores of Loch Melfort, amidst some of the most outstanding scenery on the west coast of Scotland, offers beautifully appointed self catering holiday cottages, furnished to the highest standards, set in fantastic grounds. Excellent facilities on-site include restaurant, indoor swimming pool, sauna, games rooms, tennis court, play ground, putting green, fishing. Ideally located for walking, cycling, island-hopping, bird-watching, fishing.
Excellent base for exploring the area. +Spotlessly clean +comfortable +every kitchen utensil imaginable +genuinely dog friendly The only negative we had was the on site bar and restaurant is closed Sunday evenings and all day Monday and Tuesday leaving no where in walking distance for a quality meal or drink

Family run business. We will do our best to look after you. Great place to come over for a few days break. Peacefull, with amazing views. We will help you with day trips away (drive or walk) or you can stay in bed all day if you wish!
My partner and I won a weekend away at this delightful lodge, and it more than exceeded our expectations! Gunta was very warm, welcoming and hospitable, so much so that it felt like we were staying with a friend rather than a host, which was lovely. Her two dogs and cat were also very sweet and well behaved, and we quickly felt at home :) The lodge is brilliantly located - you really are in such a peaceful location, and we felt it made a great base from which to explore. The air is fresh, and there is no sound of distant traffic etc; one really is at peace here and away from the hustle and bustle! The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with all the amenities one would need: a big bed, TV with Netflix, a fridge (very handy), tea/coffee/biscuits, and many toiletries. We slept very well! The breakfasts were superb and there was lots of choice, and the portions meant that we never left feeling hungry before we set off to explore. As we were new to the area and had limited time, Gunta kindly created a GPS route for us so that we could take a road trip and visit key sites in the area and beyond, such as Dornoch, Dunrobin Castle, and Lairg. She also took us for a wonderful morning walk where we were able to discover the local woodland with her and her lovely dogs. These personal touches meant so much and she is very knowledgeable and passionate; we were able to explore without feeling like we needed to google everything! This was very kind of her and made our trip very memorable; I felt like I actually relaxed and switched-off from work, which I really needed. We would love to visit again (for longer!) and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone wishing to visit this part of Scotland; you will be treated so well and will definitely want to come back. What a find. Lovely, warm and welcoming host and excellent accommodation. Our host had recommended the Clachan Inn for dinner, which was spot on. The twin room was beautifully appointed. Breakfast was duck eggs and smoked salmon with a selection of bread, yoghurt and fruit.

Simply fantastic. Everything from the website and information available prior to booking, the reservation process, the updates prior to to the stay and the arrival process is faultless. The lodges are jaw-dropping as is the location. There isn’t enough space to write and the place or staff / owners justice. If you are thinking about staying do not hesitate any further - probably the best place we have ever stayed and is definitely at the top of the list for return.

First ever stay in a wigwam holiday, and it did not disappoint. Stunning location (an osprey flew overhead as we were unpacking). It had everything we needed for the two of us plus dog (she loved watching the sheep in the field below). Owner was very friendly and informative. Moffat is a lovely little place to wander round, and the community nature reserve was nice too. Perfect setting to break up a longer journey north. We'll be back!

Three former lighthouse keepers cottages at the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland - Lightkeeper's Cottage (sleeps 4), Kittiwake House and Puffin House (both sleep 6). Relax and enjoy the sea views, fresh air and the local wildlife. You can see many nesting seabirds and watch out for dolphins, porpoise and whales, plus the movement of ferries, fishing boats and pleasure craft between Scotland, Ireland, England and the Isle of Man. Enjoy a unique experience at a lighthouse holiday cottage in Scotland. Pets are welcome and all our cottages are fully equipped, spacious and comfortable. Kittiwake House and Puffin House have log burners in the sitting rooms. Free Wifi is provided with a 'fair use' policy in place. The cottages are owned and operated by the Mull of Galloway Trust following a community buyout in 2013. The Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
We stayed in puffin cottage in the last week in may - half term - as usual, the cottage was excellent (well equipped, very clean, tidy and welcoming) and way became home very quickly! The views from the bathroom and bedrooms are glorious especially as it was daylight from 4:30am until 10:30pm. The weather was absolutely amazing, bright sunshine, blue skies and a slight beeeze, ideal for all the walking we did. You could stay in the cottages and not drive anywhere for a week with the beautiful garden and summer house to relax in - there is actually no sound apart from the sea the breeze and the birds. I cannot recommend these cottages highly enough - we have been before and have already booked for next year.
