Wide beaches along the "Flower Coast" attract families and those commemorating the D-Day landings of 1944. Inland, cattle graze in rural idylls and pre-WWII buildings stand alongside modern architecture. Rent a car or take tours from Caen or Bayeux. The landscape around his home in Giverny inspired Monet's Water Lilies, and summer's profusion of blooms is quite lovely. Don't miss Rouen's old town and cathedral, Caen's cathedral, Bayeaux's tapestry and the ancient island-abbey of Mont-St-Michel.

I cycled in from Dieppe, and the place worked well for me staying overnight before making the ride to Paris the next day. The apartment was very clean and well laid out. It was also quiet. So it was perfect for me.

We stayed whilst visiting the Honfleur area, and can not recommend this place highly enough. We were greeted with a really warm welcome and whilst we settled in to our room Pedro played the piano (fantastic). The room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was all home made and plentiful (I can highly recommend that home made jams) and conversation around the breakfast table was warm and fun. Loved this place so much, and if we ever go back to Honfleur we would definitely go back

We were on our way back to UK early as we had to cut our trip short and this was our last night in France so thought we’d treat ourselves as it was expensive at circa €120 a night, but had a pool and what was advertised as a spa. Due to leaving very early the next day I requested whether we could negotiate not having breakfast the next day. I did this as we traveled to the location. But heard nothing. When we arrived we met by our hostess who was very friendly and gave us a welcome drink. The room we had was very nice with great decor. We went to the pool and spa area and due to Covid decided not to go in the hot tub, albeit also because there was an additional charge. Which we didn’t agree with considering how much we’d paid. We went for a swim in the pool and the water was clean, but the area around the pool at the far end was not clean and needed a thorough tidy up. I went for a shower in the spa area after but couldn’t get any hot water, so waited till we got to the room. The outside areas were reasonably tidy, but needed a lot more attention, it looked unloved. It needed mowing around the property. Driveway overgrown with weeds. The room was good and we had a v small breakfast left for us in the morning due to an early start, which was fine, but we could of been left out some bits in the dining area (as I had suggested the day before) as we had to eat on whilst sat on the bed. A tad disappointing for our last night and won’t be going back.

This was an incredible stay for our family of three on a working dairy farm in Isigny-sur-Mer. We had a spacious room on the top floor of the farmhouse, which included two comfortable beds, private bathroom and shower, and a delicious French-style farm breakfast with fresh bread, yogurt, cheese, milk (as you might imagine), meats, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. This was a perfect base for us to explore Normandy's D-Day beaches and a wonderfully peaceful area to unwind after a couple of long days. Our host was warm, welcoming and attentive, providing an excellent dinner recommendation and answering other basic questions. French was the primary language spoken, but our host was able to communicate with us quite easily if there was something we didn't understand. Non-French speakers should be just fine with Google Translate or a similar tool.

They went out of there way to make sure we had a good time. It’s the little things that count scones out in the garden comes to mind.We will remember our week for ever because of Covid and Dominic sorting out our test and Locater form. The Cow Shed had everything you needed even a hot water bottle and the breakfast that was left for us was excellent. Dominic I think you should consider be coming a travel agent another arm to your strengths. We think you will make a success of Le Bois Gautier and we wish all the best in your endeavours. Hope to see you both in the future when we are allowed to travel without restrictions. Good Luck Jill and Mike

Accueil et contact avec Mme Ratti très bien. Rien à dire sur la chambre et les commodités, très bien. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié. La chambre est proche de tout et surtout vue sur la mer. Très agréable. Nous y retournerons très certainement.

Well here we are again, all of just a month has lapsed and we just couldn't stay away* We fell in Love with this enchanting place and had to return to it's beauty and peaceful calm. This time we experienced a dusting of light rain, some warm sunshine and the morning bog. The river had over flowed the week before so it was like hearing the roaring rapids just outside of our front door. Johnny and Lynn welcomed us once again and this time we got to meet their two gorgeous horses; they even let us feed them a baguette which was the bill of fare. Each night we enjoyed a warm fire in fact we had one each morning as well. This time we tooled around the nearby town "Le Beny Bocage" and enjoyed what the countryside had to offer; truly a magical experience with lot's to explore. Johnny turned us on to "The Irish Corner" an Irish Establishment that was run by a wonderful couple; we were treated Royal and we enjoyed their Fish n Chips along with a hearty bowl of Irish Guinness Stew, it was to die for. If you ask if we'll be back; you betcha!
