Great hospitality in a hidden place
Reviewed By Companion272178The host is a nice French lady who is trying her best to communicate in English and offer you everything possible to make you feel comfortable. Unfortunately the place is not on the beach as advertised, need around 10 minutes of interesting walk in between rural houses before to reach the beach. Beautiful walk anyway, quite fascinating. Rooms are all spacious. Perfect breakfast served in front of a pretty swimming pool surrounded by colorful Buganville. Honest price overall, little bit overpriced the pick up from the airport.

Our hotel is well located. It is 8 mn of walk to the down town,20 mn of drive to the international airport. It is near the cornice and the handmade market of Soumbediou. Prices are very competitive (between 35 and 46 Euro. The staff is well trained, very kind and the welcome is always worm. We have wifi, tv with many international channels, air-condition, hot water and room service is free.

Reviewed By Wendy AAfter being let down by another guest house five of us were lucky enough to be introduced to this guest house. Great roof terrace with views to shore and across city. Friendly chef Rafael and other staff. Amazing to see chickens and goats on other roofs!

Small hotel, Great Service, Big Value
Reviewed By cycleSteveFantastic night at Residence Blu, a small, modern hotel in a quiet neighborhood of Thies. I arrived Dakar Airport after midnight. My destination was St. Louis - 3+ hours to the north. After reading about the hotel I decide to stay in Thies and save time for the transfer to St. Louis. The management team arranged pick up and a short 20 minute transfer to their hotel. For me.. a great nights' sleep, a wonderful, fresh breakfast, then a car to take me to St.Louis. From my research - this is the closest hotel to the airport. Highly recommend for short or long stay.

Friendly place
Reviewed By lovemangerThis area is not for beach batheing or swimming. So don't expect too much of this area. Considering that, this accomodation is pretty friendly and among the best available. The pool is so tiny it's not for swimming. Breadfast is pretty good French breakfast. Well recommended.

Reviewed By Ibey_oluBooking was made for 9 nights, there was an issue with our return flight which meant it got moved up by a day, we tried to get a refund for a day from the hotel but they refused. The room itself was not great, there were no lights in the main room only in the toilet which could be seen from the room through a see through glass that had no fog option, curtain or blinds to give some sort of privacy. We asked for another room but apparently all the rooms are like that, so I will not advise for 2 people to stay in a room unless you want to see all of that. Thé breakfast came with the room and was also not great. It was a buffet without much options and was a struggle to get up for. Reception was usually unhelpful and cleaners didn’t clean our glass cups on multiple occasions. This meant we had to leave the hotel everyday no matter what because it just wasn’t the type of place you’d want to spend your whole day in. Terrible experience

Awesome place close to the beach
Reviewed By MatejGrzWonderful location just at the beach - literally a few steps to the beach! The owner lady is also awesome, helped us with arranging the taxis and recommended a nearby restaurants. I would love to come back!

Weekend stay at calm and beautiful villa
Reviewed By AmritVSA calm and relaxed environment. Good pool and clean private beach. Our villa was a good one. Not much food options around but saly is not that big and things are close. Carry your toiletries as they were not provided. Pros: Pool, beach, calm environment Cons: limited food options, no toiletries provided, no towels

Appart Hôtel bien sympa
Reviewed By PIEVIIISi vous faites un long séjour sur Dakar, c'est l'endroit où il faut descendre. On bénéficie d'un studio avec toutes les commodités. Le personnel est très attentif. J'enlève un point pour la mauvaise gestion des problèmes de wifi en septembre. Cela semble aujourd'hui réglé.

only for couples still very much in love
Reviewed By Melachi-ibn-AmillarI stayed at the Hotel Amitie Bounty on the beach in Mbour for a few days. Any person who makes it to the end of this review and still wants to find it should note it is a few blocks north of the 'Safari Club' (not as currently shown on 'google maps'), and pronounced 'BOONty' which is important to know as you will have to ask people the way. Rooms were about 15000CFA. I do not think they have a computer or smartphone (and so no wifi), so you may have to ring to avoid the (admittedly somewhat unlikely) possibility they are booked out. I think I was the only guest and the large number of staff welcomed me as one of the family, particularly when I bought them drinks. Some may find the level of attention disturbing. The enclosure and the small property is beautifully decorated in an odd African Buddhist style, though more than a little tired. The area by the pirogue-laden beach has tables and sunloungers, and is closed with a fence from the children swimming in the smooth sea. Mbour is a working fishing town, but they could perhaps clean up the beach a little. In the evening they played music from the radio (though omitting to switch the channel when presenters just talked), and I believe sometimes there are parties. The food was nice, though the fish was a bit dry and could have been marinated more, but at only 2500CFA with beer at 1000CFA this was the cheapest I found; though one had to wait for the nice lady to nip to the market to get whatever you wanted cooked. There was no liquid milk for the coffee, at 50CFA, though eventually I brought some myself from a local store. The room was large, the bathroom only partly separated from the living area -- which would be unlikely to suit couples not still very much in love. Such a couple might nevertheless have been concerned about the lack of toilet seat, toilet paper, the low shower water pressure, indeed, no water at all or electricity on several occasions,- and the unsweptness under the bed and the lack of change of sheets and the very hard pillows. The door frame had been defeated on an earlier entry attempt and repaired with a short piece of plasterboard over the bolt, which would not have deterred an excitable terrier; indeed I myself forced it once by accident, not noticing it was locked. The shutters could not be pulled shut as the wood had swollen (assuming they had fitted in the first place). The handle of the locks on the fly shields were missing and the inner lock on the glass pane would not have lasted an abrupt push. Though it was quite high up. I did not sleep much. But despite its challenges I quite liked this hotel and will drop in again in the (also admittedly unlikely) event I ever return to Senegal.

Bon potentiel mais service déplorable pour le prix exagéré
Reviewed By Philippe AL'internet et la télé ne marchent qu'épisodiquement et rarement la nuit. L'équipement est ancien et vétuste: frigo, cuisinière,micro-ondes, vaisselle, les mobiliers endommagés ne sont pas changés, même les piles des télécommandes (TV, AC) ... Négligence de l'encadrement : le gérant n'est pas réactif aux demandes des clients surtout après 16 h et avant 10h. On ne retrouve pas la notion du service attendu pour ce prix qui est très élevé pour Dakar. Peut mieux faire notamment compte tenu de l'excellent potentiel de l'endroit: piscine, appartements duplex, décoration à thème (Maroc), emplacement (Almadies)
