Reviewed By MrKim13Booked the Grand Blue Resort & Beach Club on Mea Phim beach for a short weekend getaway. Firstly, was pleasantly surprised that it was only just over a 2-hour drive to Laem Mae Phim from the centre of Bangkok. Arrived in pouring rain, the first impression of the car park is a bit baren and likewise the Reception area somewhat cavernous. However, the lovely smile and warm welcome from the receptionist soon had us relaxed and ready to enjoy. We had a room on the ground floor (so very easy access for disabled if needed), you enter the room from the terrace door and are immediately welcomed but the lovely, mellow colour scheme of ochre and blue. The room is good sized and has full amenities with equipped bathroom with rain shower. Room facilities include A/C, TV, telephone, small fridge, umbrella (much appreciated), bath robes and tea making facilities. The hotel is built around it’s oversized pool, there are plenty of loungers, kids area and places to sit by the pool with refreshments. The restaurant is very good with a wide variety of dishes for all tastes. Prices are reasonable and staff very friendly and efficient. There is also a sauna and fitness room. Mae Phim beach is just opposite the hotel. This is a vast stretch of white sandy beach stretching in both directions. Beach towels are supplied by the hotel. It rained almost continuously during our 3 days there (actually quite unusual for Thailand) but the ambience of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff meant that we enjoyed every minute.

Reviewed By zzvinaihad dinner with family at CazaV1 restaurant, the restaurant is nice, very clean, the service was excellence and the menu are extensive, so many to choose Thai, Chinese, Italian we ordered steam Indian salmon with soy sauce, stir-fried Chinese kale with crispy pork, shrimps salad, Northern Thai sausage and RunJaun Curry the RunJuan curry is not the usual curry you can find in the Thai restaurant, it very tasty and different, quite strong shrimp paste taste, so beware all the other foods were very good excellence meal

With 31 bedrooms and 4 apartments, sea or mountain view, we have accommodation to suit all our customer's needs. The hotel is located in Banchang (Rayong), right on the beach front of Phala, a small fishing village, and is a 15 minute drive away from the U-Tapao International airport. The Lord Nelson hotel is ideal for both business and leisure. We offer, beside daily bookings and walk-ins, corporate arrangements for short or long stay, as well as monthly based contracts. The hotel features a bar/restaurant, free wifi, taxi services, motorbike and car rental, and offers multiple activities for our guests, such as sea kayaking, mountain biking, motorboat tour, etc. The restaurant is open daily from 6h30 until 10h30 (breakfast), and from 11h30 until 22h00 (Thai and Western menus). We organize event accommodation and catering according to your budget and requirements.

Reviewed By SimRob69We booked this last minute based on its high reviews for the location. Overall it’s well passed its best and in dire need of updating. The room was pretty dirty and showed little sign of having been cleaned or updated in a long while. The bathroom fittings were all rusty and the grouting mouldy and in a terrible state of repair. The large fridge was empty and dirty. The kettle was full of dead ants and the patio furniture looked like it was made from old pallets. The ashtray was dirty, we don’t smoke. The railings are dangerously low and a child could easily slip through, or something could be kicked or dropped off the balcony directly onto diners on the pool deck area. There were dirty stains on the bedding too. We ate at the bar restaurant and service was painfully slow, my wife’s food had a hair in the sauce and the staff couldn’t be alerted so I had to tale back myself. The bar is heavily patronised by typical longterm expats and this seems to be the mainstay of the establishment. The decking around the pool is poorly repaired and could easily injure anyone not wearing footwear. Lastly, obviously not the hotel’s fault but the beach was dirty and littered with plastic and fishing debris.

Gave this feedback then get a phone call after 10pm plus text message that Agoda is to blame for them not giving me an invoice After I replied that it is also the unfriendliness of the staff I am being told that I am not open minded and should be more considered for the people suffering from the pandemic. Seriously? I have done a lot of travel domestically and stayed in several hotels last year supporting the domestic tourism in many ways. Outrageous behaviour and if anyone wants to see the text messages feel free to contact me.

Reviewed By FahT33Love view and nice place. But too far from beach and other restaurant. Love place that there are swimming pools and table tennis. But resort is the end of the road cannot walk, need to bike only. I tried to walk it's take 30 minutes to restaurant.

Big renovation just completed.
Reviewed By DavontherunStayed here for the second time, everything has been improved. New beds and linens, all the rooms were repainted. In fact, the whole building was renovated with a new restaurant to provide very nice breakfast, staffs are the same as last time , they were very nice and helpful. The accommodation is worthwhile for the price , will come back for sure.
