we are in elegant palace in downtown of Lucca with elevator . we three suite and two bed rooms superior , with private bath!
I booked palazzo Rocchi for Lucca regency weekend. The local people recommended this place. I chose the Queen’s suite, the 2nd largest suite while my friend stayed in the king’s suite. It was a joyful stay. I am very happy with my room, classically decorations with old world charm. Every morning they served breakfast in my suite. That was a new experience. The location was great. Right inside town center, surrounded by shops. I did on purpose to choose the room not facing the square which could be noisy. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful. They helped me with early departure and taxi bookings. The only two things were slightly tricky: (1) difficult to use the old key for an old door (2) no receptionist after 7 pm or before 8 am. So I need to plan things ahead. The main lounge was incredibly beautiful. I could not help taking a few selfies as we had 3 days of costume events such as the Grand Egyptian ball. I might return!

I go to this hotel every year. It's modern, silent, clean the rooms are spacious and it's close to oldtown by foot. Very nice options if you travel with a family because you have many kinds of appartements with 1 or 2 rooms so it's like your home away from home. It's equipped with a kitchen to cook simple things. Valentina is a great host, she contacts you before arrival, she has great recommendations for restaurants! Love this place! Highly recommended

We spent three wonderful nights in this lovely Tuscan Villa with beautiful garden, olive trees and an outside swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom has a large shower, sonk, toilet and bidet as you would expect in Italy. The furnishings and fittings are all in taste of the tuscan villa which all go hand in hand together. The staff are always on hand to help, very polite, patient and friendly. Breakfast has a good continental selection with fried eggs and bacon. Fresh fruit is also plentiful. The in house restaurant is excellent, serving typical italian dishes very well presented and with a good bottle of wine on the terrase, an excellent way to wind down after a day of sightseeing in the sun. All in all, thank you for a lovely holiday.

For the past 2 years I've spent a week or more at the Villa la Dogana! As you can see, I went back and will continue to go back. A beautiful and historic 15th century villa that's a 21st century bed & breakfast without sacrificing the charm of its historic nature. It's located outside of the city of Lucca Italy, but it's within car, bicycle, or even walking distance to the walled city. And if you'd want a trip to Florence, the train station is nearby. For a peaceful and relaxing time, stay at the villa. The hosts will truly make you feel at home.

Welcome to La Mezzaluna! We offer self-catering apartments and hotel rooms in the historic Garfagnana area of Northern Tuscany. We are situated just 36 km north of Lucca and just 4 km from Barga , a pretty medieval village reknowned as one the most beautiful "borghi d'italia". We are family run business and have self contained apartments and double rooms ensuite. Situated just 250 yards from the local railway station La Mezzaluna makes a perfect base for those who wish to visit the nearby cities of Barga, Lucca, Florence, Pisa and the famous Versilia Coast. Our complex is ideal for families and suitable for walkers, bikers. Our restaurant is available for hotel guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have a veranda with a spectacular view overlooking the Apuan Mountains. We are happy to take bookings for parties and special occasion dinners. La Mezzaluna is also a cookery school. We offer cookery breaks and 1 day lessons. Combine cooking and wine tasting and learn all the basics of the Italian cooking techniques and traditions this area of "La Garfagnana" has to offer.
I stayed 7 nights with La Mezzaluna for a cooking vacation with Cook and Dine with Rita Tuscan Style. We had four hands on cooking lessons that included fresh pasta, pizza, veggie dishes, seafood, and desserts. We took day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Barga, Castlenuovo di Garfagnana, and Sommocolonia. We had tastings at wineries in Montecarlo and Gallicano. Our group of seven participants included other solos, a couple, and some friends traveling. We were so very well cared for during our visit. Classically styled Italian rooms, with daily cleaning. Airport transfers and transportation for all excursions. All meals included. Daily free time to unwind and reset. Cookbooks to take home our new skills. And wine- so much wine!

The SAN GIOVANNI ESTATE is immersed in the classic Tuscan countryside and offers a stunning view over the fields and the hills. The house itself dates to the 1700’s but has been recently renovated to include all modern amenities, like air conditioning, and swimming pool with lounge area.
The Tenuta has several types of apartments. This review relates only to the ground floor of the ‘dependancel’. This dependance is completely built in between what looks like a barn and the house of the neighbours. These neighbours also have direct access to the 'terrace' which is no more than a courtyard with disappointing views. You only have a view of the mountains when the awning is folded in. But strangely enough you can't control the screen yourself. Apparently, the neighbours determine when the screen should be unfolded. And what makes it even more bizarre: the neighbours have 2 cameras that are aimed at that courtyard. When I reported to the owner that we did not feel comfortable with this, he offered to move into another apartment (without any further explanation about the presence of the cameras, of which at least 1 seemed to be active, given the glowing sensor lights when movement was detected) . Furthermore the facilities and equipment as stated on Booking.com do not correspond to reality at all. No trace of an oven, coffee maker, toaster, washing machine, tumble dryer. The equipment of the kitchenette is below standard: not a single pan lid, for example, and not even a corkscrew could be found in this apartment of a winegrower (although we noticed a rusty bottle opener). Several appliances were dirty and greasy. The free toiletries are limited to a small bottle of shampoo and body lotion for 2 people for 4 days (and no trace of bathrobe/slippers either). I guess supplementary items will be provided upon request (indeed, the host is courteous and responds quickly to messages). In general, the state of maintenance and cleanliness is not at a satisfying level: the door giving access to the courtyard does not close, the shower head that is no longer height-adjustable on the rod and the bed of questionable and back aching quality. Dust can be found about anywhere. And to put the above in perspective, I've posted over 50 reviews n the last few years, with many high marks because the accommodations met our expectations which were based on the online descriptions. This is the lowest rating I've ever given. I hope that the owner will understand this particular apartment needs a real check-up to ensure that people rent the apartment they think they will rent after reading the description on Booking.com.

This house used to belong to my family for centuries; Giorgio had bought it from my great uncles many years ago. The house had fallen to despair and needed some TLC. Giorgio brought this house back to life! His attention to detail really shows when you walk through the rooms and see how beautiful they are. We have come back to stay here twice since he has taken it over and he is so kind and hospitable. He gave us a full tour and sat down with us to hear the stories that my family remembers about the house. The exterior is exactly what you imagine a Tuscan home would look like. The garden in the front is beautiful and there are tables so you can sit and enjoy the view. The rooms are just perfect: well maintained, clean, bright and updated. Giorgio himself is one of the kindest and warmest souls I have ever met. He makes a beautiful breakfast spread every morning and is more than happy to do so. He is knowledgeable about the area and places to go see. His accommodating nature makes you feel like your staying with family. Grazie per tutto, Giorgio!

In the heart of Lucca countryside, this brand-new guest house is the best choice if you are looking for refinement, peace and quiet, tasty food and beauty
Believe the unanimous 5 star reviews. They're all true. I won't repeat what others have written but will add some additional commentary based on our week there. It would be handy to have a car but it's not essential. We cycled to Lucca on a number of occasions using the hotel bikes and we are in no way lycra lovers. Even the 12 and 13 year olds loved it, especially the cycle route around the city which was super safe and simple. The rest of the time we took short cab rides to restaurants like La Cecca, a must visit. There are a couple of really nice restaurants within easy walking distance and a cheap and cheerful trattoria around the corner. There's also a mini supermarket 2-3 miles away that has everything you need for your stay. Marco is on hand for everything else!
