What's not to love about this place!!

Thank you Manolis and Filo for yet another fabulous stay in your lovely Skinos Apartments!! We simply love this place - quiet, clean, simple, convenient, beautiful, relaxing. What we love most about Skinos is the simplicity - it forces you to slow down, stop and simply enjoy every day - from the minute the sun rises from behind the mountain and slowly starts lighting up the sky, sea and the "dragon mountain" (view from the apartment). Througout the day the sea changes constantly in colours and texture, birds migrating flitt by, and late at night we find ourselves still sitting on the verandah - star gazing and listening to the gentle roll of the pebbles in the waves just across the street. Thank you for the lovely fresh linen and plenty of towels every week; the apartments are perfect - simple, without any unnecesary 'stuff" in the way - a perfect Beach place with plenty of place to hang beach towels and beachwear, packing/hanging place for your clothes and the small kitchenette is very well equiped to make meals if self catering. Shops and restaurants/taverna's are walking distance (5-10minutes) away, and free parking on site. Manolis and Filo - Thank you for being the perfect hosts yet again. We could stay forever with the amazing views ,well equipped clean rooms and three extremely good Tavernas within walking distance . Situated in this typical greek village ideal for lovely walks taking in the views and quiant paths to such interesting architecture. Even with basic greek language the locals are always happy to pass the time of day with you. There are also a few interesting shops selling traditional greek items and hancrafted jewellery .

Reviewed By 777WRJBeautifully appointed apartments. Quiet and easily accessible to town and the great walks of plakias. Apparently designed by an architect and it shows. We have stayed here a number of times now and it is by far our favourite. Rooms are good sizes and each has its own private garden. Small pool on roof.

Διαθετει κηπο με παιδικη χαρα και δωρεαν προσβαση Wi-Fi σε ολους τους χωρους. Τα κλιματιζομενα διαμερισματα του Galini ειναι απλα επιπλωμενα και περιλαμβανουν κουζινα πληρους μεγεθους η μικρη κουζινα, καθως επισης δορυφορικη τηλεοραση, πλυντηριο και στεγνωτηρα μαλλιων. Ολα τα στουντιο και τα διαμερισματα διαθετουν μπαλκονι η βεραντα. Η αμμωδης παραλια του Πλακια απεχει 2χλμ., Ενω η παραλια Δαμνονι βρισκεται 3χλμ. Μακρια. Η γραφικη πολη του Ρεθυμνου απεχει 30 λεπτα με το αυτοκινητο απο τα διαμερισματα. Στις εγκαταστασεις του ξενοδοχειου προσφερεται δωρεαν ιδιωτικος χωρος σταθμευσης.
Quiet and peaceful apartments
Reviewed By mairead hThe shower was too small but that was our only negative experience and not an unusual drawback in apartments in Crete. The welcome from the owner was very friendly and she made us some iced coffee as soon as we arrived and we felt right at home. We had a large apartment with a separate bedroom and a balcony with a beautiful view of the hills and the sea. The kitchen area was well supplied with cooking equipment and even had a cupboard with a few basic needs like sugar, coffee and condiments. We slept very soundly in the nice clean and comfortable beds. There was a small reception area with a few toys and books and a place to relax. Outside there was ample private parking and a children's play area. I wouldn't like to be without the use of a car in this area as the roads would be dangerous to walk at night. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quite in a good location.

Reviewed By MocampionThis was rather a strange place as it was over a restaurant which appears to be closed apart from some occasional local visitors. But the owner was pleasant and welcoming and the whole place has a relaxed feel that I enjoyed. And it was the best value accommodation of our holiday. The apartment is spacious but nothing special. It has fairly basic amenities but was good enough for what we wanted and I really liked the location. It's close to a pebble beach and within an easy walk of the big sandy beach. We used the pebble beach for just chilling out and snorkeling (the water is amazingly clear!) and you could have a couple of loungers for the price of a drink or ice cream. We tended to use the sandy beach for more of a serious swim to get some exercise, but we were rather put off it on one day when there appeared to be something not too pleasant emptied into it! I couldn't say for certain what it was but it was a large brown slurry that gradually dispersed into the sea. But my very favourite thing about this apartment was the HUGE balcony with amazing views. We had breakfast on it in the mornings and on one day (while my husband was diving) I spent most of the day just lounging on it reading my book and enjoying the view until about 3pm when it got too hot and with not enough shade. Some sort of shade on it would make it absolutely perfect!! Plakias itself is a great base and we loved it. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and everyone seems so friendly. It just has a nice feel. We visited a couple of other places along the coast but were happy with our choice for a base and could happily have filled a few more days there. My husband went diving with a local dive centre ( a 5 star PADI centre) and said it was the most professional outfit he'd ever used. If I was returning to Plakias (and I hope to some day) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Atlantis apartments.

Reviewed By CGWThis place greatly under sells itself. Our room was booked via the main apartment booking site and we paid only around 50 euro for a two bedroom two bathroom apartment with nice pool!! How can you complain about that. It is true little shampoos are not provided and the towels are a little old but for the price it is amazing. The rooms are spotless with nice floors. There are two single beds in two seperate bedrooms. They were comfortable. There are two nice updates bathrooms. There is a very basic kitchen between the rooms - but we did not eat in. The pool is very nice. Maro sent us GPS coordinates. It is not too hard to find, about 300 metres up a steep hill behind the town. Go from the town side. We had a car and parked outside.

Great simply holiday, quite windy but lovely!
Reviewed By lewickaWe spend there a week in summer 2016. First impression: windy. Picking PLAKIAS as your destination, you need to be aware of that. Huge beach, gentle bottom slope. Cute markets offering also handicrafts, variety of fruits sold in the street, great place to taste some social life, Greek-style dining etc, without big crowds. Apollo Plakias is fortunately located behind the water front line, which is great because of the wind that can be sometimes really nasty directly by the beach, but not so bad in Plakias garden. Clean pool, nice bar. Small white buildings, scattered in absolutely amazing garden. If we were to find something to complain about, Internet connection could be faster and some rooms renovated. It's simple, clean, not expensive. I understand some guests expecting luxury holidays promised by travel agency, paying a lot for the package, may be disappointed. But honestly, for the price we paid booking directly, we could not be more satisfied. Lovely place.

Close to everything ... a short walk and you have the beach town at your feet . Clean and comfortable and most of quiet. The owner is kind and sweet as is her staff . Can go wrong with this hotel . Highly recommend for a comfortable stay in Plakias.
