Home From Home - Looking Forward to going Back!

We have just come back from a wonderful family holiday in Nairobi and part of the reason our trip was so great was down to Mimosa Court. We travelled as a Family party of 6 adults (that inculded grandparents) and two children aged 5 and 3. We booked two apartments and stayed for 17 nights. Mimosa is a well known landmark, next to the Royal National Golf Club, on a very well known major road so was a great choice of place to stay for accessibility. Very close by for any animal experinces as The National park entrance is only about 15-20mins drive from there. There are a couple of malls and plazas a short taxi ride away as well so getting supplies is no problem. You can also order in for take out food and groceries. Security is 24hours and the whole complex is very safe. We started communicating with Victoria and the team well before we travelled to make sure that everything was in order, to sort out paperwork we needed for visas and to arrange an airport shuttle - ( which they provide at a very reasonable price!) As our flight was landing quite late they even offered to do a grocery shop so we had some basic essentials which was above and beyond. Our airport pick up was smooth and without issue as was check in. The apartments were and are well maintained and thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. Very spacious, with a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen which gave us options for looking after ourselves and plenty of room for two excited children to not get under our feet. The apartments were true to all the marketing pictures that we saw before we booked. The main bedrooms all have mosquito nets which we were very grateful for and the fourth bedroom came in handy as a work space. They also have DsTV which was good for the kids and meant that my football loving family members didnt miss out on any crucial matches lol! Free Wifi was a welcome addition. It was patchy at times but that didnt bother us too much. Sound proofing was very good too as we never heard our neighboours unless we were outside the front door. Breakfast was included in our package and what a delight it was! Something we looked forward to every day. You can eat by the pool in the mornings but we chose to order up to our apartment. The light meals offered by the grill kitchen are delicious and we did often end up ordering something for lunch or early dinner - especially for the kids. The kichen currently shuts at 6pm so be aware of that for dinner choices. Mimosa offer a next day laundry service at a very reasonable price which we took advantage of twice during our stay and there was also facilities for hand washing in our apartment. The pool was definitely a bonus and offered welcome relief from the heat as well as daily entertainment for the small ones. Be mindful what time of day you swim as its not heated so later in the cooler hours it can be chilly but that actually made the swim more invigorating lol! There is also a small but well equipped gym which I made use of so again another bonus. The gardens are pretty, well maintained and quite lovely in the late afternoon. For us, one of the BEST things about Mimosa is the dedicated, hard working staff team who do everything with a high level of professionalism and are focused on ensuring their guests are well looked after. Any issues we did have (very minor) were sorted quickly and efficiently. They were super friendly and really made us all feel at home espcially my children who came to know and fall in love with some of the housekeeping and kitchen team. The office team were SO helpful in helping us sort out our sight seeing itinerary and even arranged for me to have some on site beauty treatments at the spa. From a COVID point of view masks were reguarly worn by staff, there was access to sanitizer in all public places and like I said everywhere was cleaned daily. All in all, I can't think of any other place that I would think about staying when I return to Nairobi. It was definitely value for money, our experience was worth every penny we paid. We literaly cant recommend them enough and are really looking forward to staying there again.

The location was perfect for what we needed to do. Spacious room, lovely quiet neighborhood and made use of the safe walks nearby away from the busy traffic. Booking was easy and prompt replies. Staffs were helpful for any queries we had – next time I would just pack a small kit for washing up as we made full use of the self-catering opportunity. Also with the new access road from Wayaki Way towards Village Market meant getting to and from was easy.

Bad check out experience

Reviewed By Maps40914481577

I had made a booking for a couple travelling to Nairobi for their first time together and they were excited to stay at the grand gables. The checkin was smooth and overall experience was great. The issues started at checkout as the lady at the reception hit my friends with a surprise bill of 38 dollars for late checkout. No mention had been made since check in of any checkout time of late checkout fee if one is to checkout past that time. The lady was rude and unwilling to listen even holding the gate closed insisting we pay. The mistake coming from the hotel and whoever handled check in, they eventually accepted and let us out. There needs to be better customer service and clear communication and most of all a certain level of decorum when talking to a client.

Pricey But Worth It

We were there in December for a wedding and booked this accommodation. It felt more expensive compared to other serviced apartments in Nairobi. However the staff were great, rooms were clean and well kept. Good privacy as well. You'll feel like your in a home. There are good restaurants across the street at the Oval. We loved art cafe for their pastries, burgers and pizzas. There's also an Indian and see food restaurant we we couldn't try.

Very Good but need some improvement

Reviewed By phyntom

We stayed ( Family of 4) in Cozy residences from 01-Nov-2021 up to 04-Apr-2022 which means we had the possibility to evaluate every aspect of the apartment. The apartment looks decent and kitchen has enough items you may need for long stay. However you may find youself in situation where you need to buy more depending on what you need. Another aspect that the management should look at is shortage of water and sometimes hot water is not coming. For instance during our stay, we could spend like 1 week without hot water and with kids it can be a nightmare. Fortunetly we had kettle for them. Another area of improvement is the noise coming from water trucks which come almost everyday because if the water shortage we mentioned above. For someone working from home you may find it uncomfortable especially if you stay in lower apartments. The other thing that we think their shoudl improve is the staff training on hospitality. Other than that the apartment is quite specious with two parking slots and the security is good and the location is a strategic one. 5 mins up to Sarit center ( when there is no traffic) and few minutes up to Yaya Center. General it is good location as you can access all the shopping centers in few minutes.

One out of many instances my request for a need of an Arabic shower in bathroom was attended to without any question.
