Colmar is a photographer's dream, with its labyrinth of cobbled lanes, flower-lined canals, and timber-framed houses painted in a rainbow of pastel hues. It's the quintessential Alsatian town, brimming with traditional restaurants and surrounded by vineyards and medieval castles.

This hotel is ideally situated, some 10 min walk from the beautiful Colmar center. It has its parking lot (around 12 Euros per night), but you can find free parking (on white parking places) just down the side street. Room was nice with kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. I think hotel caters for longer stays on a self catering basis, but we used it only for one night. Didn't have breakfast as it was pretty much expensive and very average what we saw was served, so had it on Marche Couvert which was more authentic and delicious. Pool was nice, but open only from 10 AM which is very odd. Size is fair and it is heated so it's pleasant to swim.

We lodged at Schwendi apartment. The location is great, just in the center it the town. The welcomed service was nice but the first night we had a problem with the heating (not powerful enough and it was veeeery cold). We wrote a whatsapp and recorded a voice message but we didn’t get any reply al all, so we had to “solve” it for ourselves. For the rest the apartment is just ok but shower too small and the double bed ... well, it’s ok when it’s cold!

In term of price - performance balance it is fair enough. Besides those great location. Just in the middle of old town. Looking feom outside very nice, ancient building. Do not expect high quality comfort. Tools and equipments provided in the house are poor.

This property is the most horrible place I've ever stayed in. The owner is Mr Arrogance himself, if you talk about these problems. He always points at this good reviews, but does nothing with the bad ones. Instead, he offends his customers. I'm sure the owner will reply on this review that I'm a fraud and nothing is true, so beware! We booked 2 nights, but we left in fear after 1 horrible night. - The property is not at all how it was described on the booking websites. It was advertised as a 5 star hotel with shower and 24/7 reception, while in reality it's just an Airbnb apartment without shower and no-one at the property to speak to. However, upon check-in, we still decided to stay as it looked nice. - The spa bad was leaking and from the mold / water marks on the walls and flooring (even behind and under the bed) we could tell this wasn't the first time. The entire room was soaked. We had to clean and dry everything during the first hours of our vacation. The cleaning water from the floor after the flood was black which I found very disturbing as all guests have to pay an extra €35 cleaning fee. At that time it was already too late to contact the owner. Secondly I also want to point out that the bad was not cleaned as it should be. Upon turning it on, plucks of hair and dead skin of previous guests came through the air and water outlets. So we had to clean the bad before we could use it. With the above we could still live. However, when we tried to sleep, we couldn't. The whole night we woke up from animals (rodents, mice, rats...?) running through the ceiling. It was just horrible. We noticed as well that one of the windows couldn't be closed or locked fully as well, meaning everyone with bad intentions could enter the room while we were away (or sleeping). This window could be opened easily from the balcony. This gave us a very unsafe and scary feeling. I slept with a knife on the bedside table because of the footsteps, that's how scary I was. Do yourself and your fellow travelers a favor, don't stay in this places. Don't fund these types of property's.

We just returned from 5 nights in this gem of a place. The house was built in 1540 and the old beams and fireplace has been lovingly preserved, The whole place is tastefully decorated and has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. We ate several dinners on the roof terrace which is lovely as well and has amazing views. The location could not be more central - right next to the dome. We love walking around at night and walk home after dinner. We are 6 people from 3 generations and 2 countries (US and Germany} and we all agreed that, while we saw many beautiful sights, sayting in and enjoying this apartment was our favorite part of the trip!
