Sunny Cancun has much more to offer than its party-town reputation might suggest. Plenty of gorgeous, drama-free family resorts cater to folks who want to experience the tropical Yucatan climate. There are significant Mayan ruins here, such as El Rey and the Yamil Lu’um, a crumbling tower of pale gray stone. Learn more about this ancient civilization at the Museo Maya de Cancun. For a literal taste of Mexico, take a tour of the Museo Sensorial del Tequila.

Casa Tortugas is your place to go if you are looking for a beautiful and quiet place to spend your vacation in Mexico while having easy access to adventurous, romantic and fun activities! Across the street is "Playa Tortugas" beach. We offer a personalized service from your onsite host and includes: Free Wifi, Netflix and DVD library. Enjoy the private pool under calm shaded coconut palm trees. This Hotel Boutique is perfectly located in Cancun Hotel Zone. Walking distance to: the Ferry that goes to "Isla Mujeres", Marina, Starbucks Café, Golf course, Deli, Supermarket, Pharmacy and all Night Clubs, Restaurants and Malls.
Definitely recommend and will stay there again myself. A family owned/operated custom built hotel in a nice safe place 5-15 minutes driving from Cancun beaches (not a walking distance for most people, but if walking is your goal - there is a sidewalk). Bus stop and covid testing booth are a few steps from the hotel (we did antigen and received results within an hour). A big grocery store "Selecto" (with a nice food court if you just want to eat) is a few minutes driving. "Selecto" has everything you need. If budget permits, try getting bay view for beautiful sunsets and sound of palm leaves soaring in the wind. With kids, I'd recommend to rent a car (although number of parking spots at the hotel is limited to 5 or 6). Also pay attention when booking on a platform other than Vrbo (their default platform, as I understand). We booked via Hotels.com, then changed dates of stay on Hotels.com, but Vrbo somehow did not notify the property. The owner resolved the confusion to our favor - we got better room!

We have an apartment tower in total we have 54 apartments of 2 and 3 bedrooms, with hotel services. A spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea. The apartments are fully furnished, covering all the needs of our guests. And as a bonus we have a mall below our facilities.
This business will steal your money. I tried to modify my reservation they not only cancelled my room but they will not refund me my money. Do not book here no matter what! On top of that they will never put you through to a supervisor.

I believe some of the units at Solymar must be better than others, so be careful. One of the biggest problems we had was the fact that the owner, Alejandra, spoke no English. Trying to talk back and forth using Google translate was awful. Before booking, we asked Booking.com if the unit had a kitchen. The answer was yes. I asked for an early arrival time, 13:30, and the answer was yes. The owner said she had a partner that spoke English and would pick us up at the airport. Two days before arriving, we got a message that said “please, limit your cooking, I’m not making enough money to cover the electricity!” AND bring your own beach towels. When we arrived, we dragged 100 lbs of luggage up two flights of stairs, no one around to great us, no one to help us. We sent messages to the owner that we had arrived with the reply that said the unit wasn’t ready. We waited until 15:30, at that time I requested a cancellation, because we aren’t physically able to handle all the stairs. My wife went to look at the unit out of respect, and the only seating was a worn out futon with a sheet on it. The owner was furious, it seemed, but we couldn’t understand anything she said. She finally had a helper translate a bit for us and we got out of staying there for $200 cash. The pool was uninviting with lots of locals and children. They were going to bring us bottled water, so I don’t think the water was safe to drink there. We are so happy to not have had to stay there. Beware:2301, 2401, 2501 We are Interval International members and ended up staying at the Westin Lagunamar and the Coral Mar for less money and they are both fantastic!

When I arrived they gave me dirty room with a bunch of garbage in the room and they didn’t apologised until I requested for another room and the room doesn’t have wifi which in hotel says it does have wifi but the best things about the hotel is the access to beachfront and the pool

Loved our stay here. Didn’t expect much for the price, and the average reviews, but we got an epic room with beautiful views, perfect location for the ferry, lovely staff and tasty free breakfast! Couple of things could be improved. There were no pans in the kitchen, I went to reception to heat water for tea. My shower never got hot, but it was kinda lukewarm which I don’t really mind. But not perfect.

Rent directly from the owners with the best rooms and variety; Studio, Suite and Penthouse units available, all with Ocean views.
booked this hotel on hotels.com ,the images on hotels.com did not reflect what was given to my family,it was dirty, broken into, unsafe, the safe inoperable, the key for the room was to a single deadbolt while the other rooms had two . I refused this room as it was unsafe , unsanitary, uninhabitable, immediately requesting a refund from the hotel , the manager claimed I was to seek my refund from hotels.com & hotels.com is holding my refund claiming the hotel is holding my funds . I HAD TO walk with all my luggage in a foreign company to find a suitable hotel with my family & pay another hotel for a two weeks stay , had I not had the funds me and my family would have to sought a loan or go to the embassy , what happened from both hotels.com & the salvia is just not right . I have been attempting to be reimbursed my money that was not used towards the services I paid for over a month , have spoken to over 10 customer service representatives each one telling me to wait 72 hours . This is not right , I called hotels.com immediately upon receiving a new room at the “ Krystal” which was not what I originally intended . The salvia & hotels.com keep giving me the run around , so LET THIS BE A WARNING TO YOU ALL .

MY mother tought me that "if you can't say anything nice you shouldn't say anything at all." Well I just don't think I can stay quiet. Please do not waste your time. The staff are nice enough but the building is run down, does not have an elevator and the rooms are dark and dingy with thin little matresses on cement slabs. It felt like a jail. The pool was out of commission and the building really run down. We had booked through booking.com and ended up staying only one night. We came late in the evening and the room was crawling with little aunt like bugs and didn't even have a bed side lamp. The next day we couldn't get up soon enough to search out another hotel. We found one even cheaper and in a better location that was miles better than Ikaro Suites.
