We booked this place through RCI. We should have read the Trip Advisor reviews, because they were spot on. This place is awful. The people at check in were very rude and made no attempt to speak English. Apparently they really don’t want Americans in their property. When I asked for the resort information in English, the women held up her phone and said “translate”. So I ended up spending 2 hours trying to translate their ridiculous recycling rules. During the time of Covid, you would think they would take extra time cleaning the units, but it was filthy. The unit was old and run down. Even the landscaping was scruffy and overgrown. We even saw a wet roll of toilet paper thrown in the lawn and it was there during our entire visit. We were given sheets and had to make the bed. The mattress was dirty and covered with hair?. I am surprised I could sleep on that bed. We debated leaving when we saw our room, but decided to stick it out. DON’T STAY AT THIS PROPERTY! (Tried to add photos, but couldn’t)

Superfriendly and warm place. Nice and clean. Great value for money. Very handy rooms settings also for large families. Great home made breakfast. Definitely recommended. Bit difficult to find it, ask the owner best route to get there.

Just 50 meters from the sandy beach, the Policoro Village is nestled in a pine forest of 60,000 m² on the Ionian coast of Basilicata. You will have a swimming pool, bar, games room and various sports facilities. POLICORO VILLAGE is situated in Policoro, 40 minutes drive from Matera. Set amidst the unspoiled nature, is the ideal destination for a relaxing holiday. The bungalows are well equipped with double bedroom and single bedroom, kitchen, refrigerator, bathroom with shower, air conditioning and TV, and outside there is a lovely terrace with table and chairs. It offers a games room, children's playground and an entertainment program. You are welcome to use the supermarket, barbecue grills and laundry. If you love sports, you can enjoy playing tennis, football, darts, bowling and ping pong. Parking is inside.
We visited Greek ruins, Matera the 'culture capital of Europe'. The beach is well organized and clean with crystal clean waters. Good night life with bars and nightclubs along the beach. The village has good accommodation clean and well maintained. The swimming pool with excellent life guard great for children, good, friendly entertainment staff. well worth returning.great value for money. The shop is a little sparsely stocked.

B&B Le due nicchie (The two niches), which we visited from September 26th – 29th 2016, is ideally located at about 5 min. by foot to the city center and the train station. The apartment is on the first floor which is accessible by stairs. As there is no elevator, the B&B is not suitable for disabled persons. We were welcomed by Luigi, a very kind and helpful person, who showed us our room at the front of the house. Although it is quite a busy one-way street during the day, at night there is hardly any traffic. Moreover the room is very well insulated. The room was of a fairly good size even with a 3rd. bed. There is a large double bed with a fairly hard mattress. Opposite the bed there is a small TV with only Italian channels. The bathroom is rather small, with the tiniest shower cubicle we ever had. The shower head hangs so low that people over 1.70 m. have to take the shower head in their hand. There are two towels per person. Room and bathroom are impeccable clean. There is a large linen cupboard in the. A common kitchen with other guests can be used. The breakfast is according to Italian standards: one croissant and another piece of bread, biscuits, juice, coffee/tea, milk and cereals. You can have bottles of water for free. The price of 80 euro is rather high. Nevertheless, the B&B is very recommendable, especially because of its location.

Great central place to stay at in Matera, just next door to the Sassi. The apartment was very functional with modern furniture. A kind of place where you feel like home right away. It was in a small side street, so it was quiet despite central buzz not far away. There is coffee, tea, juices, yoghurt and also sweet breakfast prepared in the apartment. The lady who welcomed us gave us a map of Matera with a complete walking tour suggestion, explaining the major things to see and I really appreciated her personal suggestions (like the Casa Noha) that we missed during our previous visit to Matera. She also let us leave the baggage there until 1pm on checkout day. We ate in the closest restaurant (Latteria) and it was really good, so we weren't sad that we didn't find a table in a resto in the Sassi.
