This is the best value for price you will find around. We rented a large sound-proof apartment, with all fixtures that are new, a coffee machine and especially well located right next to the historical center and a very good traditional French restaurant. Parking is easy and available all around. Last but not least, a very friendly owner. P.S Bring your own shower gel

Awful service and maintenance for our stay. They act incredibly unprofessional and irresponsible, even to a unneccesary extent. We tried to call the hotel after leaving, to get the refund that was promised. The woman answering our claim on the phone ( also the same woman who promised us a refund before we left ) had suddenly changed her mind, replying «I dont care what if you had a problem, if your dog died or if your mother died, we don’t refund either way» Then hanging up. We’ve had only good experiences with all our bookings so far on this trip, and it does actually affect travelling when we end up in a place like this. Avermes is beautiful, but stay away from this place.

I enjoyed my stay here, but you should ask for how much the TAX is that adds every month to the rent. i was planning on only 480 euros per month but end up paying 513 euros, as a student it adds up. Adding to this the charges you pay when you come like cleaning services and other ones add it was 600 euros to put up front. Just be careful and ask how much you're really going to pay.

Coin Aubrac comprises two buildings situated at the quiet top-end of the town, opposite the health spa and within walking distance from the centre. We stayed in Le Castel, reminiscent of an old warehouse, which has been converted into seven apartments. A small stream separated us from the larger residence, which also housed a restaurant on the ground floor. There was free allocated parking for the seven apartments at the rear of the building. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, but not as clean as we would have liked. The air vents were clogged with dirt, the set of saucepans were in such bad condition that we avoided using them, and the socks we wore were soon discoloured by dirt from the tiled floor. Our view of the stream was marred by old builders’ rubble abandoned under the terrace of the restaurant. Not a pretty sight. But the bed was comfortable.and the building quiet. We had dinner in the restaurant - a set menu on a Saturday night, with a talented pianist providing non-stop music. The food was good, although we were not impressed with the main course - a skinny half-lobster which surrendered little meat. However, the choice of wines and local beers was impressive. We stayed five nights and it served our purpose, enabling us to explore the local region - quite wild and unspoilt. Food shopping was a challenge, as we only found one small cramped convenience store in the town. The nearest supermarkets were some distance away in St Flour and Laguiole.
