Votre passage restera inoubliable…
Beautiful building and grounds, especially the drive to the castle. Room was very nicely appointed and it was fun to walk around the building. Very limited outlets for charging stuff. Breakfast was nice - pastries, baguette, jam, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, orange juice - but I had read reviews and knew what to expect. Receptionist was friendly. It's a bit difficult to find (especially when you're on a bike and your phone has died...) - look for the slightly dilapidated sign "Les Arpentis" and drive down that road. Location is ok - you can buy food at the grocery store around the corner and use the kitchen facilities at the Chateau (grocery store closes early!). Or you can go into town, but you need a car or Bike. Since I had been cycling all day, I was hoping to get a taxi into town, but they were all fully booked, so I cycled to town (which was easy and not far).

We are a family of four, two adults and two teens. The beds were uncomfortably hard and there is no air conditioning. It wasn't super hot outside so it was bearable. The paint is peeling off in various places and the bathrooms did not seem all that clean (some mold). On the plus side, the rooms are quiet and dark for sleeping. The grounds are absolutely spectacular and relaxing. The breakfast is also nice.

This was a real find. We were planning a birdwatching trip to France, specifically to the Brenne region with all its lakes . It is just off the road, in deep woodland (to which the resident dog took us one morning before breakfast - and then abandoned us!). By the way, this area is very thinly populated. It does not support eating places after lunch. We finally found one in Le Blanc, so be warned. The farm with its tiny chateau is old and very beautifully restored. We had a lovely big gite-room, lovely decor, comfy sofa, great bed, all very rustic and chic. Caroline has done the restoration and her artistic gifts were in evidence everywhere. The breakfasts were splendid. Can't rate the room, setting, food and 'service' too highly. A perfect place for getting away from it all, writing a novel or birdwatching. And there is no wi-fi, so no excuses for not dropping out of the world for a bit. The first bird we say was outside our door - a Black Redstart. Tick!

This is a lovely place. The very warmest of welcomes from superb hosts..kind, courteous, friendly but discrete, and very, very helpful (way beyond the call of duty), spacious comfortable studio units (good facilities for preparing simple meals...v v useful during covid pandemic), clean, very good bed. Pleasant outdoor seating/dining. terraces and lounge at main chateau also available. beautiful pool. gorgeous grounds (amazing wildlife....owls, deers and more). Very quiet and peaceful. The area is amazing and offers enough for a prolonged stay along with the occasional lazy day at the pool......10 days would not be too long. lots of good restaurants and shopping a short drive away. Secure private parking a short way from accomm area. Unloading no problem in directly front of chateau and studios. We loved it here and would highly recommend. We´ll be back!!!

Our stay was too short at only 1 evening but the hospitality was excellent, the chateau classically yet warmly appointed and we found the owner charming, disarming and fun! The grounds are lovely with a serviceable pool, plentiful parking and pretty vistas. A short drive from Tours, the location is easy off the main roads. We would definitely recommend 1-3 nights at this classic French chateau!

Discover the Château de Gizeux, the family, its history. In the heart of the Loire Valley, close to Tours, this extraordinary ancentral and authentic home will tell you a thousand and one secrets... Gizeux has been in our family for over 230 years. We became the owners of the property in 2003 and since 2006 we have been offering the service of a guest house. Your visit to Gizeux encourages us and acts as part of the renovation process of this historical residence of the Loire Valley, for which we only are the trustees for its preservation with regards to future generations. Don't expect a porter, a polished reception desk, a lift, nor a restaurant with a full waiter service. At Gizeux, we the family, welcome you . We simply wish to share our passion with you and make our daily life an exceptional experience for you. We want your stay in our home to become part of the history of this castle. Welcome to the Chateau of Gizeux where 3 generations of our family are looking forward to welcoming you in the historical and enchanting surroundings of the Loire Valley.
This Chateau is off the beaten track. Looks imposing as you drive towards it but closer inspection tells a different story. A warm welcome undoubtedly by a young lady who had to do multiple jobs. She gave us the tickets at the entrance and then ran to the Orangerie to kindly make us coffees. The Orangerie is in but name only with its boutique / cafe title aspirational as opposed to real sadly. The gardens have not been maintained and in need of serious rescuing. The building also needs some serious tender loving care. Little to see inside in the public wing with painted walks in place of the real thing. Work clearly started on this chateau ten plus years ago but it's very much a work in progress and could take more than a few to restore it to any former glory. The photos online or at the entrance are not reflective of it's current condition. If contributing to its maintenance is a worthy cause then it's worth the price of entry but in some ways you come away with a sense of sadness that its best days may have come and gone.

The lady in charge, Patricia, does a very good job - making people feel welcome, providing anything necessary – from cutlery to information - showing rooms available so you could choose what suits you best – outstanding. The rooms are huge and so are the bathrooms with a chimney (!, unfortunately not in use), a bath tub and a big shower Italian style and decent towels. Only thing missing – a hook for the towels. Everything is extremely clean and well looked after. The public area is enjoyable and well furnished. Breakfast is French standard with some cheese and ham; you choose from coffee, tea or chocolate, served in a friendly manner, again by Patricia. The only sore spot – although the castle is surrounded by very old trees and wonderful gardens, there is no place outside to sit and enjoy a drink and the scenery. Only one room comes with a balcony, some banks and tables outside would improve the site even further.

with a mixture of medieval and Renaissance architecture, this lovely castle surronded by a moat will charmyou roughness and refinement. B &B and there are rooms for weddings or any events
Fancy staying in a castle with a moat? (yes you can drive your car over the drawbridge). Sleeping a in 4 poster bed, surrounded by ancient furniture and wall hangings? If yes, this is the place for you. Yes it is homely as mentioned in some other reviews and has a few rough edges but is a special kind of place. Ducks swimming in the moat, a garden inside the walls add to the charm. Host is very friendly and I can also recommend the local restaurant in the village

This property is temporarily closed. At the heart of a landmark 60-hectare park, the towers, balconies, turrets and belfries of the Chateau d'Esclimont may be found. This former dwelling of the La Rochefoucauld family is a jewel of the Renaissance and a romantic place to stay, less than one hour from Paris, between the Versailles Palace and Chartres Cathedral.
as a photographer i'll review about this place, it's is not a commercial review. i just wanna tell you my experience from my last job here, of course with my result of photograph that you can see how was this place. i will say all the exterior is fantastic, but for the room i think it's not good. the room small and doesnt have many spot for to do bride preparation. the garden and the lake is good, it recommended of you an outdoor traveler
