From its snow-capped mountains to its mighty fjords, from grand valleys to tranquil lakes and lovely archipelagos, the county of Troms is bursting with natural wonders. To cap it off, it also plays host to the northern lights. Tromso, the capital, is the gateway to the region's rugged beauty, but with 65,000 people it's also a surprisingly rich city culturally, with many interesting museums and sites (including the world's northernmost botanical garden) and even a pulsing nightlife.

Tromsø Lodge & Camping is located in the fabulous wilderness, right next to the Tromsø city center. You can sleep to the sound of the river running outside your cabin, with the majestic mountains behind you. When you wake up, you can take a lovely morning walk in one of the many hiking tracks at site. The location is perfect for those who want to experience the arctic nature, but also close to the urban city life. By car it is only a 5 minute drive, or by foot a 30 minute walk. We offer 54 cabins divided in 5 different categories, where you can choose between high standard cabins with two bedrooms, to a small cabin with only two beds. We also offer space for tents, RV and caravan, in addition to meeting and event facilities for up to 120 persons. Parking and WiFi is included in all of our cabins.
We had a traditional cabin 2 adults and 2 kids both rooms were bunk beds. Cabin had everything you would need. It was freezing outside but the cabin was so warm. It's outside the town so we were very lucky to see the NL above the cabins. There's a small cafe which did shut early. Which was my only problem would have liked for it to stay open a bit later. Staff were very good and helpful. Managed to book reindeer sledge and the coach picked you up at the campsite so no need to go into town. There's a large supermarket which took us about 30 minutes to walk there due to the snow and about 2 hours to walk back cause there's a couple of small slopes that the kids and us would slide on. Great fun. Didn't find much in the town probably due to Covid at the time so only went there once and took a taxi back to the campsite. Breakfast was good plenty of choice.

We chose to stay at this site based upon Trip Advisor recommendations . Well you didn’t let us down. Even though it was snowing and -1 degrees the location and atmosphere I must admit was very romantic and cosy. Wherever you looked there were photo opportunities, the food was terrific and the staff were so extremely helpful and accommodating. We stayed in an ocean view room (14) which was on the 2nd story, great views highly recommend it. View from our balcony attached. The only issue I had was the illuminated fire exit sign the lounge room that lit the whole place up. I recommend you cover it up with a piece of cardboard or a towel. Now being in the field of safety, I will question why you have a fire exit sign pointing to a 2nd story balcony with no way down, you would have to jump off? I still highly recommend it for a stay.

Gullesfjordbotn is a beautiful place. We were lucky to visit in sunny weather so the view, seeing the mountains so close, so tall and all around us was very pleasant. The cabin looked adorable, but the beds were not that comfortable and the main bathroom was tiny, very difficult to manoeuvre and no sink in the same "room" as the toilet. Otherwise just a good, cheap experience ?

Two-bedroom cabins and tent sites. Summer: fishing, hiking, kayaking. Winter: Snowmobile, dog sledding, skiing
We went dog sledding at night time with Radu, a really dog lover and a perfect musher. We drove the sled under the light of the stars and saw the northern lights. We made a fire and shared stories. I strongly recommend this.

Ingen sitteplasser inne.

The MIT FabLab Norway is located 10 km south of Lyngseidet, at Ornes, surrounded by the scenic Lyngen Alps and the Lyngenfjord. Our location is ideal for skiing, hiking, fishing, glacier walking, alpine climbing, admiring the Northern Lights or simply enjoying a relaxing nature retreat in Northern Norway. We have 5 cabins for rent, inspired by Viking architecture. The 5 cabins are built in a semi-circle with the main building in the center. In this main building, you can organize larger meals and gatherings or enjoy a continental breakfast or dinner, featuring local Norwegian cuisine. Each cabin has 6 beds - one double room on the 1st floor and 4 beds on the 2nd. The kitchen has all the utilities required for self-cooking your own meals. TV and WiFi are also available in each cabin.
I had paid - a lot of money - to put all of my groups in the cabins. The owner answer was very cold and without professionalism. H just said that they were unavailable, but he could accommodate my passengers elsewhere. We came from Brazil, I payed a lot of money, we gave hime a lot of emails and the answer was pathetic. The other place was a large old house, much worse than airbnb, outside the property, with very simple rooms with nothing, 2 of them without light and heating. 1 shower and bathroom for many people, dirty bath, etc.. The cleaning was not good, there was dust, it was clear that he put us there because he had nothing else to do. Half of my group must stayed in this very bad acomodations. Some rooms without a simple light, heater,. That place isn’t good for a simple air bnb, but I was paying a 4 star price. In the other hand, the normal cabines, that we booked in advance, were much more comfortable. Finnaly, the old houses was far and we needed to walk 10 minutes in the chaotic snow, storm to arrive in the main lodge. In the New Year! In the end, when we left and paid the bill, the owner charged me the full value of the luxury room / cabin, without having any good sense and consideration to charge me less for all the troubles, for the bed and chip accommodation where he put us. I had to pay the full price, but half os my rooms was in a complete cheap and different accommodation, of the real book. Finally, tue owner in action, as it was all good, he unbelievably decided to charge for the small sled that I crashed jut because he didn’t received us, and didn’t clean the street covered by huge snow. The end of this big unpolite reception, he charged 3000 Noks for the kickwsled crash, his guilty, not mine. He just charged in my card, dint gave meh any explanation, he didn’t prove my fault, he didn’t prove that the sled cost 3000 nks. Incredible! I saw the 3000 not amount later and I called Vikingg Lodge. The owner didn’t answered any info about his guilty with the bad information in the lot, didn’t tolde me why I had payed 3 000 noks , etc…. He just want my money and nothing more. I payed a lot of money for a best place, to stay in the cabines. He put us in a bad place, he creat a lot of trouble and asked me for full cabine price. Shame. He left a road with a lot of traps for the guests and I must payed for the trap with a unreal amount he have never told me why.y It ruined part of the new year, a terrible service in terms of a good receptions of group guests, bad security and responsability on the lodge street. Wrong acomoddations of the book, just because the owner decided put more people in the lodge, and just put us in a old house far from there. Money, money, and money… Just that. There are many better lodges in the Lyngen, Balsfjord, Skybotn and Kilpisjarvi regions with a high level of service, best quality acomodations. Avoid if you can.

Really cool indoor glamping in an old theme park. Beds are comfy, service is great, and our 9 year old absolutely loved it. The burger restaurant is also fantastic. Best burger I've had in northern Norway!
Lavangen is popular among anglers from numerous countries. Your meal of fresh fish is waiting in “the largest pantry of the world”, take your rod on a short trip on the fjord and you certainly will catch.
