Off Australia’s South Coast you’ll find the rugged and beautiful island of
Tasmania — a unique destination where you can see Tasmanian devils, walk
in the wilderness, take in stunning eco-cruises, taste artisanal cheeses and
even explore a controversial art museum. The best way to see it? Take the
back roads, but allow plenty of time: A short drive in any direction can lead to
wineries, distilleries, marine farms, convict settlements, pristine beaches,
fields of lavender and national parks…

The Stanley Cabin & Tourist Park is in the ideal position for a perfect holiday for families with children with the choice of staying in a cabin, motel or bring your own caravan or tent for a budget holiday on one of our powered sites. On site boardroom available for meetings/bookings includes internet access (broadband) with overhead projector for PowerPoint presentations etc...A wonderful gay, friendly atmosphere will be experienced when you stay in our warm cosy cabins located in a beautiful historic village beneath "The Nut" along the seaside.
We really enjoyed our stay at the park, first night we spent on a powered site in our motorhome and we splashed out the second night and got a spa cabin. Perfect location, 5 minute walk to main street and pub, right on the beach and we got to see the penguins coming in just after dark. The bathrooms were clean and the first caravan park I've come across that provide bath mats, just a little thing but these small touches matter. Fiona at reception was amazing, so friendly and helpful and told us all the things we must do in the area. We loved Stanley and had such a great time.

Growing up in a city my entire life, Stewarts Bay Lodge to me is a great getaway. I believe most accommodations are singular cabins just varying in size. The cabin we got was perfect as it had a verenda that overlooked a lake that was part of the compound. The cabin was also surrounded by trees so privacy is more or less guaranteed. The cabin was spacious with a large washroom, large bedroom and large living/dining room. The bedroom and living room are carpeted so your feet remain warm when it gets chilly. The only thing that was a downside to me was the rest of the floor space was layered with a vinyl flooring which would squeak no matter how quietly I tried to tread. The compound of SBL is relatively large as well and we were able to walk down to the lake to have a look. The lake has a shallow sandy bank which lets you walk right up to the water's edge and there's even a small little pier where we saw someone trying his luck at fishing. The restaurant was decent although I would say the food is a tad pricey but I've come to realise that restaurants attached to hotels are generally serving pricey food and if you're lucky, it'll be delicious. I had the wallaby steak which came on a bed of barley. Overall the both the steak and barely were a bit tough and chewy but taste wise was lovely. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

You need to see it to believe it - Cradle Mountain is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Discovery Parks – Cradle Mountain is set on the edge of world-heritage listed Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park, so a true wilderness experience is on the doorstep of your cabin or caravan. The famous Overland Track starts here, covering 161,000 hectares. There are guided and non-guided walks for all fitness levels, canoe tours, horseback trail rides and helicopter flights. Meet resident Tasmanian Devils. Sheffield, Burnie, Latrobe and Deloraine are about an hour away - and with another Discovery Park in nearby Devonport, Tassie is touring holiday heaven.
Good location, 500m to the visitor centre to catch the shuttle bus up to Cradle. There's a lot of construction happening at the moment as they are making more sites and building more cabins so it's a bit of a mess but despite that we loved our stay. Bathrooms were clean and the camp kitchen was excellent with BBQ's, hotplates, kettle, toaster and an open fire place. Would stay again.

Best ever, good value Best caravan park I have ever stayed at. Easy walk to the centre of town, friendly staff. The facility were sensational, I have never seen a camp kitchen so well maintained and resourced, but better than that there are two one indoor one outdoor. Top pick, happy to recommend to family and friends. Very accommodation for a fury family member.

Great location with the ocean over the highway and easy access to a number of nearby eateries. Recommended.

First impressions count, and the Karen in the office was most off putting. But Karen aside, the cabin was clean and tidy and well fitted out. Bed and sofa comfy. The location is great, right on the beach, and five minutes from town. Facilities were excellent. Lots of dogs there, great to see, and all so well behaved

BIG4 Strahan Holiday Retreat is situated on 8 acres of tall trees and Platypus streams. Perfect for families or large groups. There is an eclectic mix of cottages and cabins that range from Studios to four bedrooms homes. Most accommodation is larger than average with room to move and fully equipped with everything you need for an overnight stay or longer. Serviced and un-serviced sites offer camp kitchens and family bathrooms. There is a Cafe and shop on-site and a tour desk and activity hire. Bikes and Kayaks are available plus sandboards , beach cricket etc.
I loved this park, its big with lots of sites and cabins. The grounds are nice with a river running through. Bbqs and a laundry and my favourite was the amenities, separate little ensuites with a shower, toilet and basin which was nice. The only thing I would like to see is a camp kitchen, there was a small open air type kitchen but not a lot in there. This time of year is quiet but I imagine in summer would be busy. I recommend a stop here for a few nights for sure.

Wow what a gorgeous caravan park. Beautifully maintained and close to shops etc. we saw a review whining about having to key for showers but seriously 20c for three minutes - it just ensures there is hit water fur everyone when the jerk is full and you aren’t waiting due half an hour with tired kids for a shower. Obviously the person who made that stupid review has never lived on tank water or through a drought. This is a friendly beautiful park - even the dump point is pretty planted out with sweet smelling roses.
