LOVED our stay here!

One of the best KOAs we’ve been to in our 20 years of camping. The owners are so friendly and will stop and chat with you, the campground is set right on the creek so the background noise of the flowing water is so peaceful. There aren’t a ton of sites so the place is usually pretty quiet and the playground was perfect for when some family came to visit. The nature trail was so cute and a great little walk. The bathrooms were extremely clean and well maintained. If you don’t have a camper there are also some cabins that looked so incredible with a nice porch on the outside. We will totally stay here again when we visit family who live near Greenville.

First, a lady walked my dog while I checked in, so sweet.Next, the lady checking me in was so very nice explaining every aspect of the campground. Lastly, a gentleman led me to my site and hooked everything up for me! Wow. My first time ever traveling solo and this was a blessing. Thankful, Pam Frady

Loved it!

Can’t say enough about how nice this place is! Wish we would have had time to do more, and had scheduled some of the activity stuff they had (agility course). The campground was nice, it wasn’t the ritz but for what else was there… it checked all of our boxes. Wonderful hiking, biking, kayaking, dog park, other water rental options if you don’t have your own, close proximity to Folly Beach, not outrageous to downtown Charleston, and the list goes on.

Great campground!

We went for a long weekend and had a great time. We changed sites from a gravel to a paved site (per their rec and the availability) which was a super move. The hosts definitely have your best interests and comfort in mind. We were very happy with our stay. It was quiet, relaxing, and a wonderful way to relax. We ventured up Hwy 11 for some hikes and some eats. Solitude Point is just that-solitude, but located as such to venture out if one wants. Thanks for a great stay. We hope to return soon!

Unpleasant and Ugly

Reviewed By likethecoast

I didn't enjoy our time at this campground. To go down to the beach, I was constantly confronted by huge political flags waving in the wind. This is not what I want to have a fun or relaxing time at the beach. I am shocked that these political flags are allowed on private property. Beware and make sure you know what you are getting into before you book.

Somewhat less than past experience.

We have stayed at Camp Lake Jasper many times because we have found it convenient, clean and well cared for. We recently found the grounds to be less than usually well cared for however . Not sure if there is a different maintenance staff or perhaps a different owner, but it was a noticeable difference in appearance.

Nicely wooded campground for RVs, tents, cabins available. Off the beaten path so no highway noises. They have a pool, horseshoes, dog run, laundry, a trail through the woods, playground, even a jump pad. There is a nice 1 acre lake that can be fished & release. There are paddleboat rentals. You can also pay to put your name on a signpost or rock!! There is a group of ducks that wander the park that are fun to watch. They recycle. Propane available. The owners are pleasant & very helpful. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Ocean Lakes - First and LAST visit.

Reviewed By jimmywK5832WK

Although the experience with the staff at Ocean Lakes could have completely ruined our vacation, we chose to enjoy our family time regardless. We purchased a child’s football and float in THEIR store, only to be told we could not use them at their pool. Then they told us we couldn’t have coolers at the pool. Coolers that had waters and snacks for our little ones, because the concession stand wasn’t open for us to purchase the items from them. All of this and more was handled very unprofessionally. The icing on the cake was our last night, when they had a golf cart parade right in front of the beach house we had rented - going until 11:00 pm with VERY loud music, singing, and shouting. We had little ones trying to sleep. We have stayed at several other campgrounds in the area and absolutely loved our many stays at those. We were always made to feel welcome, and could relax and enjoy our vacation as opposed to our stay with Ocean Lakes where we were constantly looking over our shoulders expecting to be talked down to for the next supposed infraction. We were told, “Well, Ocean Lakes isn’t for everyone”. On this we can agree. This was our first and last stay at Ocean Lakes.

Best RV park in Charleston

Reviewed By S-border

We landed at Oak Plantation for an extended stay of 8 weeks, this place is absolutely wonderful. The staff is helpful and nice, and I do not have one bad thing to write about. The lots are huge and easy to park even the largest rigs, we have a 43’ 5th wheel and I easily backed it up and still had enough room for a center console boat and a vehicle. The bath houses are very clean, the campground is spotless and well maintained. Even the other campers are a delight to be around, plenty of room for kids to run and a dog park. The only downside to this park is pulling out on to the main road “lots of traffic” but not their fault! I would absolutely stay here every time I come to Charleston and highly recommend it to others. Close to countless restaurants and things to do, but off the beaten path enough to be relaxing.

Great Camping Experience

Reviewed By gbergen

We used the campground as a base camp for kayaking. Beautiful well-kept campground. Our site was next to a creek and had wildflowers blooming all around. The bathroom was very clean. I especially appreciated the design of the showers with an attached dressing room with a dry floor. There is also an associated restaurant and bar with live music. Food was good - incredible selection of beer.
