The moody, romantic Scottish Highlands start at Loch Lomond just north of Glasgow. Comprising a slew of mountain ranges, this sparsely populated land is best seen by train on the West Highland Line. Mountains, lochs, bright heather and rhododendrons give way to white sand beaches and rugged coves as the train nears Mallaig. For a more active take on the region, hike the West Highland Way or visit the Trossachs National Park. Ben Nevis, a popular climbing spot, looms over the town of Fort William.

Glamping is glamorous camping. The site is set in Glenurquhart by Loch Ness close to the beautiful Glen Affric. Glamping is the ideal compromise between camping and luxury accommodation. The accommodation units are called Armadillas and have full en suite facilities, underfloor heating TV, DVD, iPod dock, fridge and a fantastic view. Breakfast is available for those who are not into making it themselves. The area is a haven for walking and cycling.
These guys accommodated for my wife and I literally last minute, as we were badly let down by another place in the area. It was however a total blessing as the time we had here was amazing - and we both feel that it was easily the best experience we’ve ever had at a glamping site. The site is incredible, has everything that you need - the ping pong room and friendly horse are definitely added bonuses. The pods themselves are amazing - heated floors, a great en-suite shower room which we used and it was perfect. Really friendly and welcoming family, and really couldn’t recommend staying here enough if you’re around Inverness. The quality of the bed is just top notch and they really go above and beyond with the facilities and extras that they supply for you. Legends! Kenny and Claire.

Super few days in one of these pods. Since we last stayed ownership has changed. However quality remains. The pods are well maintained and when we arrived immaculately clean. Beautiful position on a small holding surrounded by countryside. John, who is half the couple who now run the site was often around, very friendly, and a useful source of local information. Will book again for later in the year

We had a great time staying in the pods as a base for our winter sports with our young family. It was clean, warm and more spacious than we expected. The cookhouse and showers are close by. We would recommend staying here.

Booked via booking.com and cancelled immediately on arrival. Firstly, the advert said there is a bbq on site and there wasnt. It was also advertised as being 250 yards from the centre and 350 yards from the beach as shown in the pictures below and it turned out to be over 2 miles away and a 55 min walk! Not sure if ill get a refund yet but please check all details before booking to stay here. Best off at the sutherland in near shops and food places.

Looks lovely, great outdoor space for kids, great location staff are friendly and helpful just few key areas that would Def stop us from returning. Check-in is at 4pm no problem there we arrived at 520pm ish and there was a technical difficulty (plumbing issue) re didn't wait too much longer another 10 mins however I immediately was concerned with a potential drama and sure enough the pod next to us had theirs and within 24 hrs so did we. These are new pods this was a bit of an inconvenience to say the least. The other real negative was when being shown the pod the lady did say they got quite hot and showed me the air con which I thought was strange being directly on the ground by the double bed. It's totally useless and we were lucky to have 25° temp during our trip and boy did we feel it in the pod at night, Yes the air con does eventually cool the pod down at like 1am in the morning but at 5/6 pm in the evening when you have got in from your day your busy showering trying to get ready to go freshen up for evening out. Well there is NO aircon....SIMPLE. My son was on the top bunk he immediately had to switch to the bottom but honestly all three of us were soooooo hot!!!!! I doubt Im the first to mention this and I'm sure I won't be the last...The bunk the kids aged up to 10 can only sleep on well my son is 9 he really is not fussy but after 2 nights (we stayed for 4) he was miserable to sleep on it!!!! I can't speak highly enough about the staff and their help in general and of course the location.

After reading the reviews we didn't expect it to be amazing. We arrived the lodge is as described. I don't think it had been cleaned and the bunk bed side slats were filthy with dirt. We brought our own bedding including fitted sheets, one of the beds looked like it had mould growing on the fitted sheet supplied. The curtains were covered with black blotches of mould. The lodge was absolutely freezing at night and the window wouldn't shut properly I considered going home with my 11 month old as it was really cold. I'd suggest taking a portable heater with you. The toilets were fine and looked clean, we never used the showers. My partner and boys were a bit disappointed with the fishing, there were too many rocks and they got caught in the trees when trying to cast out so they gave up. We chose this camp despite the bad reviews because my partner wanted to do some fishing with the boys. Thankfully we don't live far away. The futon in the lodge was awful, it was dirty and it's no good to sleep on. One side slants down and it's not comfy.i think this could be a great place if given some tlc. Micro Lodge 6

Just back from this park. We were in the touring part at the end of the park, next to the 'water/sewige treatment site' there was also a public car park next to us and on two ocassions a croud of scouts and cubs arrived for two hours and it was like a plague of LOCUSTS arriving. There was also a childrens playpark directly behind our Motorhome, which for two SENIORS wasn't much fun. I don't mean to sound like an old grump, but for what the company charges for sitting in an almost public car park, surrounded by screaming kids and scouts, plus the smell coming from the water treatment site. Lastly, I am disabled, and use a scooter to get around. The speed bumps are right accross the road and no space at the end to get past, so had to go over them (lots) and I don't know if the bottom of my scooter is wrecked. They should have three foot gaps at the end of these ramps. All in all, a noisy, expensive, smelly week and a wrecked scooter.
