Some of Queensland’s most remarkable sights require you to leave terra firma. Off its coast sits the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef. Snorkel and scuba among 1500 resident fish species, or sail through the Whitsundays’ white-sand atolls. Back on dry land, you’ll find tropical escapes in the Daintree Rainforest to the north, rugged outback to the west and alfresco dining on the Gold Coast in the south. South East Queensland boasts mountain views, vineyards and ‘river city’ Brisbane.

Great Keppel Island Hideaway offers an affordable southern Great Barrier Reef holiday for everyone – singles, couples, families and groups. We offer the only restaurant and bar facility on Great Keppel Island, catering for day visitors and those who wish to experience an island holiday in a range of accommodation, from budget tents to fully self contained cabins and bunkhouses.
We recently had a 4 night stay on the island for our honeymoon and we felt like we were in heaven. The Hideaway resort offers low key affordable accommodation and as such some of the rooms are basic in nature and a little dated. However, the setting, the service, the food, the entertainment and the activities that are provided on site are sensational and more than make up for this. What a vibe! What a place! Service = incredible. All the staff are friendly and warm and go out of their way to make you welcome and make your stay enjoyable. In particular, Darren the Supervisor gave us sensational personal service and couldn't do enough to ensure that our honeymoon was extra special. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Food = Absolutely delicious! Big portions, efficient service, great quality and reasonable prices, we couldn't ask for more. Setting = Location location location! Phenomenal spot right on the beach, bar / bistro is also overlooking the beautiful ocean. Adventure = Kayaking, snorkelling, boat trips, fishing tours.... the list goes on. We took a trip with Mark on his boat to Wreck island and had the place to ourselves for the whole afternoon. Snorkelling the reef on Monkey Island is not to be missed. Entertainment = Live music at the weekend and regular shows throughout the year. Quality stuff and the atmosphere is brilliant. We absolutely love this place and can't wait to bring the kids back at Christmas. Thanks to everyone that made our stay so memorable.

We had never heard of Woodgate Beach until a friend recommend we stay here on our way north. This is a real gem, off the beaten track but much loved by visitors. The park has very good facilities and plenty of room to access your caravan site. The cafe at the front is one of the best. The beach is just across the road. Highly recommended

Huge lagoon pool with kiddies water play area * Ocean Views• Locally owned and run• Owners on site - 24/7 plus night managers • Pet Friendly• Closest Tourist Park on arrival to Airlie Beach• Huge unpowered camp area with full campers kitchen• FREE WIFI• Abundance of wildlife in the park all year round• Fully self contained cabins/2 bedroom family bungalows/Bali villas that are very affordable• Friendly informative staff who know the area• Extensive Tour Booking Service - we get the best standbys• Always doing the best deals on accommodation and tours all year round
This caravan park is in a great location close to the centre of Airlie Beach, the bathroom facilities were old but they were kept reasonably clean. However, we were disappointed to be told upon checkin that even though it’s a pet friendly park our small dog wasn’t allowed to be left alone at all. Not even locked inside out air conditioned 22ft caravan!!!! Not to enjoy the pool onsite or for anything else. This makes site seeing in the area very difficult. We were given the name of 4 pet sitters who were not available due to it being a long weekend. I wish this information had be shared with us upon booking as we would have reconsidered this location or left the dog at home. I would also not recommend booking tours with reception as we were given incorrect information regarding the starting location for one our tours. Luckily we checked this info directly with the tour company and avoided the disaster of turning up at the wrong location…

I actually thought I had booked the park down the road where we had stayed last time, we had a really good time here and wanted to return. We we turned up here and I realised my mistake I was a bit upset and it didn't help that there were repairs going on here and it didn't look it's best. Anyway we set up and we love our site and the amenities at really good and the staff all very friendly maybe it all happened for the best.
