Årrenjarka Mountain Lodge is a family owned business with a personal touch and very high quality standards. The cabins, the hotel rooms, the restaurant, the eating and dining experiences, the overall design and maintenance of the facilities, the activities and the hospitality are all at the top of the line. Our family has lived in Årrenjarka for 200 years and has been living off tourism for more than 40 years. We are proud of our long experience of hospitality and service and we want all our guests to have the best time here in our beautiful little village! We have a large number of returning guests, many say that once you find this place, you will always want to come back.
I wonder why not I cannot find more recommendations for this beautiful place since it is really worth a visit or a stay for a few nights. The ressort, whose translation means "squirrel island" is located on a small peninsula at lake Saggat. The surrounding landscape is really impressing and reminds me of Alaska. Tip: go to Kvikkjokk 17 km away and do some hikes on the local mountains (e.g. Prinskullen) or go by Kajak on the Kvikkjokk delta! The ressort itself is really nice and the staff helpul and friendly. They offered us a cottage for the same price although we have booked a hotel room and we didn´t regret choosing the cottage! The breakfast was quite good and also dinner could be recommended (local specialitys). If you want to cook dinner or breakfast on your own, please keep in mind that the next supermarket is about 110 km away in Jokkmokk ;-)

While at Camp Alta you can also enjoy X-country skiing, ice fishing, our Ice bath hole, sauna's, Our large Sami Wooden Teppee Firehut!! Take advantage of our fantastic cheap prices for our cabins, Lovely cottages in a wonderful environment!!Our Staff are Multilingual and very happy to help you enjoy your stay.
We ordered snowmobile tour online for Camp Alta. We stayed at Camp Ripan, but we were picked up and had free transport to Camp Alta. We were a party of four and had 2 snowmobiles for a day. Cassie was our wonderful guide. We drove around on a nearby frozen lake, through a forrest, and to the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. We had 3 hours at the Icehotel on our own, which was amazing. Our boys (both 14 years old also loved this tour, it was the highlight of everything, they said when we came home) What a beautiful landscape and surroundings. So idyllic. Maybe next time we come to Kiruna we’ll stay at Camp Alta, it look so cosy there. Thank you so much for making this day magical for us!

Aurora Camp is wonderfully located at the Torne River, 12 km from the city of Kiruna. You can book your own cottage, simple rooms in the main building or wilderness suite. We arrange all kinds of tours in both summer and winter. You can also rent a canoe or mountain biking in the summer and skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. But missed especially not our dog sledding and snowmobile tours. Transfer to the camp and from the camp can be booked with us for 350 SEK/car, one way.
The camp is situated around 25 kms from Kiruna in the midst of nature. There is forest around and is definitely a must place for a nature lover. The entry to the camp is a bit tricky (though you have sign board) from the highway. I was there in the coldest time of the winter but I think summer will be beautiful as well. It is just beside the river, which was completely frozen and we viewed the northern lights just from the room through the glass (though the intensity was very less). Most important point for this camp, please travel with all your necessary item (food, drinks etc) as there is nothing nearby.

A cosy cabin accommodation in Sámi design nestled in the forest outside Jukkasjärvi in Kiruna Swedish Lapland. Arctic wildlife and reindeer are the natural residents next door during winter and if one is fortunate the northern lights will give a glorious display. During summer the midnight sun will brighten up day and night. Breakfast is included in stay. Joint self-catering facility for other meals. Easy to add activities like reindeer sledding or Sámi storytelling night; or book a package.
We loved staying at the Reindeer lodge! The cottage was idyllic with a wood stove to keep warm, and access to another log cabin for food preparation and separate buildings for showers and bathrooms. Falling asleep to the crackling of the wood fire, just delightful. The rooms also include electric heaters and a fridge so you will always be warm. A lovely breakfast was available each morning, along with very friendly and helpful staff. We really enjoyed being able to use the cooking facilities ourselves in the evening. The facilities are run by Nutti Sámi Siida, a family run Sami company who organize experiences based on Sámi culture. They offer this special lodging close to reindeer so there are opportunities to interact with these lovely animals. During the reindeer encounter we learned about the relationship between the reindeer and the Sámi people, were able to feed the reindeer and also experience reindeer sled racing. We really enjoyed learning about Sami culture with Sara our guide while she prepared a traditional meal of flat bread, fried reindeer meat and lingon berries. It was a fun experience and we really enjoyed getting to know Sara and hearing her stories. I would definitely stay at the Reindeer lodge again and highly recommend it to others!

This place has history: known from the 1600s and onwards. Always relying on the blessings of the river and enjoying light warm summers as well as cold snowy winters. We rented the lodge on the river bank in the middle of July. It was well kept, had some cooking facilities and access to sauna and a wooden outdoor bath barrel. We enjoyed breakfast at the main house and went to the Hulkoff restaurant in the vicinity for dinner. Whether your interest is fishing, hiking, or city tourisim, there is always something interesting for you. This is a good place to visit, whether you want to relax or learn about the adventurous history of the area.

The lodging was located deep in the wilderness. You have to take a snowmobile to get from the car park to the lodging. The lodging was run by a Sami family - local people. It was end of winter season when we visited, so we were the only guest. We had a great guided tour by the owner , and he was very sociable and knowledgeable with great hospitality. He worked as a cook before- so the dinner was delicious as well. The sauna was already heated before our arrival and it was the best sauna experience we had. The cabin we stayed in- was neat and clean and well heated. Love it !

Welcome to Arvidsjaur and Camp Gielas! Camp Gielas, by the southern entrance to Arvidsjaur and within walking distance of the centre, is open all the year round.
Wednesday 27th May to Thursday 28th May. The accommodation here had pretty much everything for a one-night stay, including a toilet and shower. There was no evening meal option or a breakfast one, so we had a microwave dinner and made our own breakfast from the supermarket. Checking in was simple, well organised and pretty anonymous. This is a large camp with all sorts of facilities and overnight accommodation is just one of them. Bed and Breakfast in Sweden is odd, from an English standpoint. Sometimes towels, sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers are provided, sometimes not (you always get the duvets and pillows). When travelling you need to have all this stuff with you. This is one of four overnight stops and four reviews during our trip from Hargshamn to Kiruna and back where we experienced every variation of facility. This deal didn’t include bedding or towels and one had to do one’s own maid duties on leaving, which is not entirely unusual in Sweden. It was functional, a bit pricey and whilst the little accommodation block was clean and functional, there remained a background odour of one-time tobacco smoking, which seemed to have infiltrated the fabric of the building. Verdict: Pricey. I would probably look for an alternative were I to be here again. Price: Accommodation only, provide your own bedding and towels (€72.31) (SEK 850).
