We are somewhere between Camping, Home stay and Bread and Breakfast. We are not a resort. It is a small family run business.
Stayed at the fabulous place for 2 nights. The place could not have been better. Quaint place where u hear the noise of the stream the chickens pekking. The whole property is one with nature with solar lights , solar power water heating , wind mills etc. The entry to the place is by crossing the stream. At present due to construction one has to park vehicle at some distance and then walk to the property. Mr James is very helpful but I felt rules and regulations a bit too stiff for a vacation . One has to order food in advance else u are stuck. Food is fresh but may not suit everybody's palate. Well the introductory mail that u will receive from james is self explanatory. Room ah cabin is just out of the world . No problem with running hot water and quite cosy at night. There is a gas stove in the room also.

Saimika park and resort is situated in the world's wettest place. Spread over 69 acres of land, it has traditional huts and conventional rooms. We invite you to come stay with us as we celebrate life in the home of the clouds!
The resort almost seems like a place in the wilderness but certainly a charming abode. We were apprehensive at first upon reaching as it was raining and there is no formal reception. To our relief someone attended to us and we were told that our reservation is at the other property. Luckily, we had our vehicle waiting for us and we could hop-on with one of the staff to guide us. After a smooth check-in, we proceeded to have our dinner which we had ordered before hand. Though the food became insipid due to being prepared earlier we did not mind it as we were very tired after the flight from Delhi to Guwahati and the drive from the Guwahati airport to the resort. The resort is spread across a vast exapnse of property, They use fresh proceeds to prepare food hence guests are requested to place their order before hand. During our stay we really gorged on french fries which were quite flavorful. Considering the size of the property the resort was quite under-staffed. One person by the name of Cedric was literally one main army. He tried his level best to make our stay as best as it could be. Since there is a lot of greenery around, there are insects in the rooms despite the staff trying their best to maintain cleanliness. The power supply also tends to be erratic. But all these issues were also an experience. Overall it was a great stay.

Enjoy a pleasant stay at our Camping Site located at the riverside of Shnongpdeng.
I visited the Shnongpdeng in the 2nd week of March 2021 with 4 of my friends. We took a package of 800 per head which includes the tent- stay, campfire n breakfast. Boating, cliff jumping and other activities are nearby for which extra charges are there. Restaurants and washrooms are also near the stay. I enjoyed the stay and especially the boating & cliff jumping part alot. The staff are good and understanding. We had to lend their speaker for the night because we didn't had one. Also our phones were handed over to them for charging. We had a really good time there!

Camping next to a river that you can see through with moonlight or a starry sky being the only source of light is not something you experience everyday, or you have a secret life? All the adventures of cliff diving, kayaking and swimming are just a bonus. Roll your sleeves already!
The village houses very few home stays and some tent for tourist ; it would be around 25 -30 numbers ; It gives u memorable visit especially during winter but summer, it may be difficult to stay in tent but walking around will be nice in the morning ; food options are decent and good; hygiene is not an issue as they maintain very well

If you want to see the crystal clear water of Umngot, Shnongpdeng is the perfect place, and Shatsngi is the right stay. If you visit Meghalaya, don’t miss this. Shatsngi is the best stay at Shnongpdeng. We are quite happy with their great hospitality, best food, and best-in camping experience. We visited in the last week of Nov-21 & really my family enjoyed the stay at Tents here – very clean and comfortable. The people were very friendly, especially… - Masser the guide makes your life comfortable at the place, - Pyndap the owner is very down to earth and running his place very clean & hygiene – and - Neban the hero takes you around and makes your visit more memorable. Thank you guys, you are the best @ Shnongpdeng and very special among all other campsites that I have seen around over there. You must stay for 2 nights here at least, to cover all the beautiful surroundings, treks and water sports events. We look forward to visiting this place again for sure, but this time with extended time.

We have 3 Units of Cottage Tents for double occupancy with an attached toilet and bath. We also have 10 units of 2 person tents and we provide sleeping bags and camping mats as well. A proper toilet facility is available at camp.
To see nature’s beauty you’ve got to make an effort, so be ready for a long drive to Mawsynram from Shillong through some of the most amazing landscapes and views of the Shillong Plateau. It’s a 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive from Shillong which is the nearest urban city you can use as a base to explore the state of Maghalaya, in North East India. Once you arrive you will be happy you made that effort. Cottage tents at Weiing Camp are awesome and clean. 2 beds with comfortable mattresses, high-end clean white bedsheets and quilts. Attached bathroom, you can order a bucket of hot water for a bath. The only reason I won’t tag the camp as glamping is because the rest of the facilities is pretty much at the level of camping. Which adds to the charm, you have the choice of booking a cottage tent or a normal tent. With an extra mattress, we slept 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) easily as the beds are spacious. The location is simply beautiful and relaxing at the edge of the canyon and on the lake. The activities we did with the kids were adventurous - caving; bouldering; canyoning; hiking through lovely landscape past waterfalls and amazing rock formations; kayaking, etc. Food consisted mainly of local cuisine and was very good. We ordered Maggie noddles for the kids once but otherwise they loved the local food served. Not spicey! For those who are concerned. We visited with friends from Singapore and their 3 children and had a wonderful time over 3 nights and 3 days. Will visit again! Thank you Makri and local guides for taking care of all our needs. We visited in mid October which is just after the monsoon season, so you may have wet weather or dry bluebird skies. Still a good time to see the waterfalls. If you want to avoid bad rainy weather then go after October but then be aware that the waterfalls may be dry. If you want to use the camp as a base to see the living roof bridges, it’s not a good idea since you would need to drive all the way back to Shillong to take another route for a road trip that would last a total of 3-4 hours. This is a great location for lots of the activities mentioned above but not to see the Livingroot Bridges. Though not impossible to do from the camp if you’re willing to spend the day driving. Consider staying in Laitkynsiew instead as a base to hike to the bridges.
