Reviewed By billyb296I loved the time we spent here at the Cabañas Kin Balam. The attention to details is second to none. The service the guys provide here is top and you can never go wrong visiting. The atmosphere is magical, after a day at the pool you can chill in the restaurant with fantastic food and nice people to hang around. My visit was super nice despite the fact that, at the end, I ran into a bit of trouble as I left the hostel leaving my passport behind. When I realised it I was already on the road to a new city but as soon as I got in touch with the team at Kim Balam they reassured me that they had it and immediately arranged a courier to get the passport safe in my hand despite being in a different city! Jessica and the Kin Balam team where so kind and efficient that I will never forget the time spent there. Thanks a million for making me feel at home!!!

Unfortunately it wasn't the season where the Guacamayas come to enjoy the special fruit from the tree. They offer also boat tours on the river

Reviewed By PistenherzWe like the open air arrangements, the overall very welcoming atmosphere, the huge pool (we were observing howler monkeys in the trees while having a coctail in the pool after visiting the ruins- what else can you ask for?!?!?!?!), lovely staff members, good food, very friendly and knowledgable barkeeper, live music at night, etc.

Reviewed By Paul HDon't understand why this only has 3 and a half stars, what do people expect for the price. Basic, cheap and in the jungle, what more do you need. Just wish I new you could contact and make a reservation through Facebook as I booked 2 nights in an overpriced place nearby first.

The Madresal Ecotourism Center is a place for tourists who like to travel green nature, initiated by a fishing community located near Tonala Chiapas, a few kilometers from Puerto Arista and Boca del Cielo. Place to relax, appreciate the flora and fauna that is conserved in the Soconusco coastal mangroves, bird sanctuary resident and migratory mammals. It offers comfortable cabins and ecological, offers activities in beach, estuary with fishing area, the palapa restaurant offers seafood cooked food with firewood to the tradition of the local people.

Reviewed By emilyjanelangMadresal is a ecotourism center run by an ejido (communal landholders) on a spit of land between a saltwater estuary and the Pacific. The ejidatarios are anxious to make the place work, so they go out of their way to accomodate visitors: ferrying guests through channels in the mangrove swamps and accross the estuary, pointing out different varieties of plants and birds along the way, offering boat tours to crocodile or bird sanctuaries, setting up wonderful cabins with ample mosquito netting and most of all, creating sumptous banquets served with a view out over the Pacific breakers. The pitchers of limade are generous, cold and delicious, and the coconut-covered shrimp are the best I've ever had. If you enjoy just being with nature and a few kind people, watching the stars at night, swimming in the estuary from January-May, singing around a bonfire or collecting shells along the endless beaches, this is the place for you. If you prefer the more sophisticated pleasures of nightclubs and bright lights, better head up the coast to the resorts of Oaxaca. A word of warning--the Pacific is treacherous, with sudden undertows and cross-currents. Take good care of children and be prudent yourself and you will enjoy this virgin stretch of the Chiapas coast.

A must stop on the way to hidden mayan ruins
Reviewed By Sergio RA regular place for stop for the travellers to Yaxchilan or to the Guatmalan side, this place it worth to spend a night too. Evening on the riverside of Usumacinta, selva around, and fishing activities may be arranged with the locals. Place is quite simple by itself but tof a jungle bungalow it is a perfect setting.

Reviewed By renezimmLas cabañas son lindísimas y súper bien equipadas, con hamacas espacio para preparar tus alimentos, camas muy cómodas. El servicio y la calidad de los alimentos en el restaurante es excelente, los precios son muy accesibles. Los encargados te informan de todo. Aparte de todo esto tienes una caverna en la tierra donde de manera impactante salen las aves, tan maravillosos que a mi y a mi pareja nos llevo a las lágrimas el espectáculo natural. Muy recomendable.
