Spoil yourself. Get out of Town. Set on a working wine farm and surrounded by the Witzenberg and Winterhoek mountains, Rijk’s Wine Estate and Hotel offers a relaxing, tranquil and romantic ambience. It’s all about food, wine and relaxing pleasure. A free wine tasting is included with your stay.
Spent one night at Rijks Hotel and Wine Estate. The reception was great with friendly staff. Beautiful room - clean and neat with everything required for an overnight stay. The view is breathtaking with a sunset that cannot be beaten. Enjoyed both lunch and dinner at the hotel along with wines from the estate. Can highly recommend this as a stop over!

Manley Wine Estate is a boutique wine lodge and private cellar with luxury bed and breakfast accommodation, self-catering cottages, and a wedding chapel and beautiful function venue with a unique character. Manley is situated in the beautiful countryside of the small town Tulbagh, only a 90-minute drive from Cape Town CBD, and is surrounded by majestic mountain views, sweeping vineyards, and beautiful farmlands. The lodge itself is located towards Winterhoek only 1.3 km outside the historic Tulbagh town center, famous for its museums, unique earthquake history, and many different cultural activities. A short walk across the lawns from the thatch roof Manor House, in which the reception and dining areas are situated, we have seven large double bed and breakfast rooms which are arranged around a shaded courtyard adjacent to the pool. We also have two linked self-catering thatched cottages which are nestled beside the water at the end of the property. Each cottage can accommodate four persons and is ideal for small families. All our rooms are equipped with a private en-suite bathroom, DSTV (satellite TV) with ample available channels to select from, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, mini-fridges, built-in safes, and WIFI internet access. Most of our rooms also have their own fireplaces, making them especially cozy in winter, when we have been known to get a dusting of snow on the mountains. Breakfast is included in the cost of your stay if you book one of our double guest rooms. Breakfast is unfortunately not included with the self-catering cottages but can be added on by prior arrangement at an additional cost per person. The on-site eatery caters to guests’ breakfasts and other meal requirements, and the premises has a large outdoor swimming pool and a communal thatched Lapa with a large braai (barbecue) area.
New owners with a new modern orange branding! Easily located just thru town on a beautiful estate with a breathtaking view of the farm and mountains to enjoy a very tasty bottle of Manley 2018 Pinotage. Hosts as friendly as you could ask for and very large comfortable rooms! Enjoyed breakfast on the back veranda! Ideal place to stay while touring Tulbagh ??

Duikersdrift is a working farm in the age-old Cape tradition, with a small vineyard and olive orchard and paddocks with horses, donkeys, cows and amazing birdlife. Being surrounded by mountain wilderness, there are also a number of wild animal species that call the farm home. Visitors to the guesthouse are treated to gorgeous mountain views, laid back farm-style living. Activities are available.
We stayed here for 2 nights. The cottage was perfect and the views fantastic. Shane and Lindy were so welcoming and we had the best ever sharing plate on our second night - a real work of art! Caroline in the booking office was very caring - we had to move our stay several times due to Covid and she handled this so well. Probably best to have a car when staying here.

This impressive Cape Dutch Home retains its grandeur by flaunting antique furniture, fine art collections in huge spacious rooms – the 3 suites (all en suite) sleep 12 guest – facilities for private dining, small conferences/weddings. The lush garden/pool area is perfect for any special occasion. It is the ideal base to explore the vineyards, mountain passes, and walk down historic Church Street
Our 3 nights at Wittedrift were an amazing experience in every respect - not only the accommodation in a big Manor House, with a rich history (initially built as a workaround for a family with a young child who did not want to go to boarding school), but also the personalities involved in the management and working in the guesthouse, as well as all the activities available in the Tulbagh area - it was a 3-day feast of olive, wine & MCC tasting, as well as delicious food in venues like the Tulbagh Hotel and Readers Restaurant & Grill in Church Street - Carol Collins, a connoisseur in the kitchen, owns Readers & manages Wittedrift so you really have the best of both worlds, including access to all the information about the valley - she not only provides an excellent breakfast but can entertain you with her stories of life in the village over many years. The staff did their utmost to minimise the effects of load-shedding during our stay, including setting a table for dinner at the fire in the lounge and providing lots of rechargeable LED lanterns on our last night when the lights were due to go off at 20h00. Thank you very much, Carol, Dorothy & the other lady and gentlemen on the staff.

The guesthouse is in a beautiful, tree-lined street with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Close to the CBD, but still sufficiently quiet for an enjoyable, restful stay. We were welcomed by (uncle) Frank, who was most helpful and interested in our well-being. It seems he will stop at nothing to make the stay as memorable as possible - a true gentleman. The well-equipped kitchen ensured that we could prepare our dinner on the first night, and we enjoyed a braai the following night on a small, but well laid out braai area. There was enough wood for our use and comfortable outdoor furniture completed the setting. Most enjoyable!

The place is excellent, clean and neat. We used unit 4 and 6 which was self catering. All utensils available. Only negative is the attitude of the owner. She was very cold and behaved in a racist manor. We took a walk around the property which she had a problem with. The husband was a gentleman.

Our family had a lovely lunch at the Village Guest House. The food was well presented and tasty, the service by Carla top notch. We especially enjoyed their signature dish, the stacked snitchel. The wine list was varied, offering a great local selection. Highly recommend.
