Hugging the German border, Western Poland is made up of the West Pomeranian, Lubusz and Lower Silesian Voivodships (Provinces), the largest cities of which are Szczecin, Gorzow Wielkopolski and Wroclaw respectively. Both Szczecin and Wroclaw are beautiful medieval cities with many popular attractions. Drawno National Park, part of the massive Drawska Forest, lies at the convergence of West Pomerania, Lubusz and Greater Poland. Lubusz is also home to the bird-filled Ujscie Warty National Park.

Tidy, a bit outdated hotel with a lot of facilities. Great thing and mainly why I’m choosing it - it accepts pets and has private parking. Downside - it has poor sound isolation and if someone is loud like coughing, partying or having sex - you will hear that well!

Nice outdoor seating, good menu so we decided to have our dinner here. Got an English speaking waiter.Perfekt....or...he just talked and talked, didn’t get the order straight. Came back three times to sourt out the order (4dishes)Came out with red wine instead of white. People that came after us got there food.....and we waited....people paid and left.....one and a half hour later, the food came to the table but....just to 3 of us (we were 4). After waiting 20 more minutes I had to eat my friends leftovers. ? (the waiter talking away with other tables) We were so disappointed in how the waiter handle the situation, trying to explain the situations over out head not listening to us. No compensation offered. TERRIBLE

It's an hotel where you can run into a bus of tourists. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dinner can be included in the price but I would not recommend that. The food is really terrible (buy some bread instead in the local supermarket). The rooms are clean. Unprotected wifi, no air-conditioning. Downstairs there is a pool and some wellness offerings.

Matejki 8 offers accommodation in Szczecin. Views of the garden are offered. There is a sun terrace and a restaurant on site. Free Wi-Fi and free private parking are available. All rooms have a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV. Free toiletries and a hairdryer are provided.
First we stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Szczecin, as we had used that chain in different cities, but the experience was not very nice. When we returned to this town, I stayed at the Matejki 8: what a difference! This hotel is situated in a refurbished old villa with a really grand appearance and a wonderful garden in the back. In the morning, one can have breakfast in this beautiful oasis with gigantic trees, while in the afternon there are deckchairs out there to relax. The rooms of the hotel are large and airy (as one would expect from such a grand building) and the windows are very tall. The breakfast buffet was excellent, beautifully arranged with an eye for presentation and with a large choice. Staff is very friendly. The only advice I would give, try to be in a room with garden view as to the front there is a major road and is, therefore, probably very noisy, while on the garden side there is absolute peace and tranquillity. I should also mention that there is a generous parking lot on the hotel ground which is free to use for guests and although one is right in the middle of town, it takes away the hassle of having to look and pay for a parking space!

Hotel has some advantages. Very close location to bridge connecting Germany. 5 minutes walk. They have large parking for free for guests. Unfortunately room was stinky and we needed to ask service to open a window to get fresh air. At check in we were informed that we have breakfast included in the price but it wasn't. Staff should be much better informed to not embarrass the guests. Plates and glasses should be also washed more properly. I needed to get third plate to have it clean and on cup was clear traces of lipstick.

Access to the hotel was from an access road behind the Law and Administration Faculty of the Szczecin University. This meant the hotel was in a fairly quiet spot, but was still within a 2km radius of most of Szczecin's central attractions. There is a Biedronka supermarket located within a 5 minute walk from the hotel, right next to a Bike Share station at Plac Dziecka (though you obviously need to register to use these bikes and they aren't available all year round.) From memory, there is no lift at the hotel so for those with mobility issues this may be a consideration. Rooms are a reasonable size, clean and comfortable, with the basic facilities one would normally expect, including a proper little bar of soap and a little tube of shampoo, rather than my pet hate of shower gel dispensers on the wall like some hotels seem to do these days. Breakfast was included in my tariff, which was the equivalent of about €27,70 per night for my single room with private bathroom. While I've stayed in cheaper places, I'd say this was a very good value, and the provided breakfast was also of a good standard. No complaints from me here, especially for those who are looking to be fairly close to the train/bus stations as the Hotel Kapitan is approximately a 1.5 kilometre walk from these.

I'd travelled in from Berlin and this was a great place to stay the night. A massive room, which was very clean with great facilities and a big bathroom. The welcome was very warm and friendly and they even got me gluten free bread - I'm sorry I had to skip breakfast to catch a train. All in all, an amazing hotel with lovely staff and a warm welcome. Excellent value and totally the best place to stay close to the town centre.

I went there for health reasons. I started with the vegetable and fruit diet. The food was really amazing, especially considering the limitation of food. Possibly as near to fine dining as you can get on this particular highly-restricted diet. The quality of vegetables was very high and the cook was brilliant - we had about four dishes in each meal and I ate the best tomatoes I've ever tasted in my life, so even a simple dish could be great. I wasn't hungry, but I did however find myself sleeping all day, so I changed to the 1200 calorie diet, which was nice enough, but I wish in hindsight that I'd stuck it out with the vegetable diet as it takes time for the body to adapt to it. I enjoyed the swimming pool and saunas. There was no Jacuzzi, but my package included two hydrotherapy treatments and one massage. I don't recommend the massage at all. My visit included a water workout every day, which was very good, though a bit early (8 a.m.). There were outdoor exercises too, which were very good, but I was just a bit lazy and most days we walked to the beach instead - which wasn't far. English is scarcely spoken in this town - German is the second language, so I will brush up on my German next time. One of the receptionists spoke some English and I got by with my Google translator, plus I was holidaying with two Polish friends, who helped out a lot. The staff were all lovely. It's a fairly small hotel, which I prefer, so in a short space of time everyone seemed to know I was English. The owner visited on our last day and spoke to us (he knows English) and his aim is to have the best food for this diet in Poland. It is the same as a famous diet by a Polish doctor, but for some reason it isn't on her site. I visited a similar spa earlier in the year, where the food was a bit bland and repetitive and Willa Alexander is in another ballpark, so I think he may well achieve his goal.

The Grand Park Hotel is a beautiful and small hotel close to the city. It is located in an nearby park with a pond. The rooms were clean and modern. Our meals at the restaurant were delicious. We felt welcomed and were nicely treated by the staff. Every activity and sight can be reached by foot. Within 15 minutes of walking distance you will reach the downtown of Szczecin.
