Chile's Valle Central, a verdant valley tucked between the Andes and the coastal mountain ranges, has a mild climate and moist soil perfect for grape growing. Made up of four distinct wine regions, Maipo, Rapel, Curico and Maule, the area is criss-crossed by well-traveled wine roads. At the northern end of the valley is Maipo, the oldest of Chile's wine regions, famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon. At the opposite end is Maule, which still grows Pais, the first grape brought to South America.

Arriving in Pichilemu without a reservation, my husband and I stopped to inquire at the Hotel Mar y Vino. We were shown a beautiful, spacious, sleek, clean, well-appointed room and snapped it up immediately. We decided to stay an extra night, and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The hotel is in the town center, within walking distance of many good restaurants. The breakfast was varied, fresh, delicious, and the staff super helpful and friendly.

The four of us loved this place. Tucked into a hillside with a beautiful pool and outside bar as well as many sitting areas under the trees to escape the hot summer sun. Our rooms were very nice and clean. The restaurant is very cute and eclectic and the food marvellous. Each of us got a different entree and all were delicious. We had just one night here, but we all agreed we could have stayed another night if we didn’t have a plane to catch. I would highly recommend you consider a stay here. It’s also just 3 miles from the town of Maipo which is a nice little place to have a cervesa.

Gorgeous boutique hotel and abode, located on 7 green, wildlife filled, walled and guard gated acres of Andes Mountains Hillside, on one of the most prestigious and exclusive neighborhoods of Santiago. Fantastic views of the Andes, Mapocho River, Cerro Pochoco Observatory and the entire Valley of Santiago. Up nearly 1500 feet of elevation near San Enrique Square in Lo Barnechea and Las Condes.
Great views and beautiful patio / pool. Unfortunately, there are no hotel services such as a restaurant or bar. This rather inconvenient as the villa is halfway up the mountain and you will need to take a taxi to get something to eat. We also underestimated the time it took to get into Santiago city center.

Our Mission Team from Oklahoma stayed here February 2020. This place far exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good and served individually, not buffet style. Each room is assigned the use of a very clean bathroom located just outside your room and there was plenty of hot water. I believe a few rooms have a bath in the room. We felt very safe and not at all worried about leaving our belongings there during the day. There is a grocery store and other shopping just across the street. I would definitely stay there again. It's a great value. The staff is very nice, helpful and efficient.

Bed comfort was average. The mattress was soft and flexible which meant when you rolled to the side the mattress would move in it’s frame, pillows were not good but i had a private room with two beds and two pillows made it better. The breakfast was all you needed and you could just enjoy a few coffees and toast. Wifi was very good although the place was quite empty when i was there. One particular staff was very good at english and was very helpful, in fact he got me a better price on a taxi than the prepaid service from the airport.

I am well underway on the “Tierra del Fuego” segment of “My World Upon Wheels/reTIRED World (Bike)tour”, 14JAN-07APR2020, and had the pleasure of overnighting in this fine hostel 03FEB2020. Still ignorant about Santiago, I paid a rather steep price (25,000 ChP) for a taxi from SCL. Of course, it was perfect service as I was dropped just outside the entrance—that is one of the penalties when arriving in an unknown community in the darkness/nighttime (I normally prefer early day arrival, which allows me to Gimpwalk around/to the overnightery/get a “feel” of the community). Anyway, I was welcomed in and shown to my single-occupant-room. It was very nice; key lock, with a flat screen television (did not use), excellent WiFi (definitely did use!), the WC (reasonable hot water) down the hall and it was all on the ground floor with very few steps to ascend/descend. I was really glad to not be on an upper level! The brekkie was a substantial set menu although crowded with hostellers in a rather tiny space. Checkout is noon, so I had ample time to explore the immediate area; important, as I wanted to use the marvelous Metro/subway system. The closest station was maybe a 20-30minute Gimpwalk away, quite satisfactory for me. Unfortunately, I was still a bit confused and wandered a half-hour beyond this hostel. Fortunately, two uniformed policia gave me precise directions, setting up the location on a map feature on my 8+ (I am a true “Digital Dinosaur”!) and I was easily able to backtrack. Most importantly are the staff. They are fluent in multiple languages, extremely friendly and helpful. I will return here! “Parron de Colores” certainly has my coveted “iWheel of Approval!”

The last reviews I can see on here are from 2 years ago. Alot must've changed since then. The B&B looks NOTHING like the photos. It is dirty and unkept. We checked in for 5 nights, but left after an hour. Stains on the bed sheets. Large bits of dry dead skin and toenail clippings over the bedding, and piles of it in the corners near the head of the bed. You can stay in place for the same price within 15 mins walk of here which are 100 times better.

I left Maison Italia B&B with very mixed feelings. There were some upsides but also some downsides that took away from the experience being what was expected. Let me start with the good things: The exterior and interior are beautiful and tastefully decorated, and a lot of wood is used which I liked. The amenities were good and it was a VERY clean place. The breakfast included was tasty, healthy and very nicely presented. Our room had a small private terrace, which was requested at booking time and it was honoured. The neighborhood is nice, and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, antique and furniture shops and other tasteful stores selling artisanal wares, and is very quiet at night. That’s about all I have to say on the upside. Now the downside, in order of occurrence: The initial service on reception was satisfactory but somewhat aloof, not what I would expect from a place like this. The room we got was small and cramped so if you have large luggage or are bringing lots of belongings you will be definitely short for space. The private terrace was indeed so, but it was next to three in-your-face exterior air conditioning units which took away from it. The neighborhood is nice, but it only has 6 or 7 square blocks of moderately interesting places to see, and while Maison claims to be near downtown attractions, nothing of that is true: You pretty much have to take a taxi to get anywhere interesting, or take the metro which is a 10 minute walk away. Checkout was again aloof, but they couldn’t break a bill for us to pay for an extra water we had consumed. The place was not cheap either: $240 for one night. Also they charged additional taxes to my card two days after my visit (of which nothing was mentioned at checkout) and this annoyed me. All in all I felt like I went to a 3.5 star B&B that charged 4.5 star prices.

We spent 4 nights at Hotel Londres. Santiago has several modern areas with major hotels but we chose Londres because it was in the older part of Santiago and had . The hotel is set in a pretty cobbled square. that it shares with a pleasant cafe/bar. The hotel is rather "quaint" and and reminded us of the many older European hotels. Some maintenance was needed e.g. cracked tiles etc. Our room was large and had a shower/bath ensemble. The beds were comfortable and clean. Plenty of power sockets for computers etc. There was a small TV, but the hotel internet was only accessible form the main lounge area. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful though a little disorganised. The brekfast provided was minimal [similar to that taken by most Chileans?]. One kind of cereal, yoghurt, bread, cheese, jam, orange juice and coffee. The hotel is 1 block from the main road and its easy to get buses and the metro from The University of Chile stop. Tour operators like Touristik pick up from the hotel. We had a great time here.

We are an ecologically oriented, nature loving people thus we attempted to blend into the mountainous environment without disturbing the landscape. We have built our site with materials native to the area; we have used stones from our rivers, wood from our forests, mud from the area and bricks made by local artisans. We believe in sustainable, renewable sources of energy, thus we heat our water with solar energy and most of our electricity is produced by wind power. We recycle as much as possible and make compost with our food scraps to fertilize our gardens or use it to feed our chickens and ducks. Our accommodations include 9 rooms all of which have a private bath and deck. We are able to offer rooms with a queen size bed and others with two full size beds. All of the rooms have a futon bed for additional guests. We offer a nutritious continental breakfast at no additional cost. Also available are some fee based services: massage therapy, paragliding, trekking, horseback riding and rafting. As part of the services included in the price we offer access to the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, game rooms, home theater, barbecue grills, a large patio by the swimming pool, bikes, pool and ping-pong tables and the ability to cook your own meals using a large kitchen fully equipped. Check in is between 15 at 20 pm- Check out is at 12 noon We are confident that you will enjoy our accommodations and the activities in the area.
We stayed at Carlito´s last weekend because we needed to relax, so we called spontaneously and got the last room. I don´t want to get too much into how it is, because since our last stay almost everything stayed the same, with one exception, which made a huge difference: They changed the system regarding the meals, which, at least for us, was the best thing that they could have done! To explain myself, with the old system they managed everything in a strict BnB-modality; they offered a great breakfast, but lunch and dinner was up to you, which meant you had two options: Cooking yourself in the kitchenette they had for guests or leave and look for restaurants (which meant driving, waiting, making reservations, etc.) Now, they removed the kitchenette and are offering instead the possibility of a Menu for Lunch and/or Dinner. The price is pretty fair, the quality and the presentation is really good and it consists of entry, main plate, dessert, salads, beverages (soft drinks and wine) and, which is amazing, from my point of view, you can repeat yourself. So, for us, it´s an amazing change, because we don´t need to leave anymore to have lunch or dinner, which implies staying there the whole time, being able to really relax, and enjoy wine to the meals without having to be afraid because in Chile there´s a zero tolerance policy regarding alcohol and driving. If we previously recommended it with the “but” of needing to cook or go outside, now we recommend it without any restrictions at all.
