A unique and amazing place to stay
Reviewed By Jadey711The Elephant Next Door is a beautiful, unique and stylish place. Our host Mr. Janaka, was so helpful even before our trip, and continued to be helpful while we were in Sri Lanka. Udawalawe and The Elephant Next Door is a must visit and stay. The thoughtful layout, the amazing rooms with upcycled stylish designs, with absolutely every thought placed for a traveller with even USB charges for your phone by the bed. This stay was better than any 5 star hotel, for not only was was it comfortable but unique as well. The food and the fresheat milk and honey we had in all Sri Lanka.

This is the perfect base for exploring Udawalawe national park - the hosts organised everything for us (guide, jeep etc). The hosts were so helpful with everything and the food was the best we had during our time in Sri Lanka. Great value for money and highly recommended!

Reviewed By Roam08374778402Very nice place and the owner. Breakfast was very tasty, bedroom and bathroom were clean. The owner helped us with any questions! We were swimming in swimming pool and chilling on the shore of the river. Very quiet place! We will be glad to come again!

Reviewed By 163mortenhYou stay near the jungle and close to the Udawalawa lake. We were the for safari in the park. Very friendly people who would do anything to help us. Very cheap safari 25 dollars per head including car and entrance fee. Four hour tour and we saw so many animals.

Perfect family location
Reviewed By C4210QKamyjExcellent relaxing stop here for 3 nights. The team were attentive and helpful. The pool was a big hit with the children. I would recommend their river side bbq as it was excellent value and the chef did a great job. The elephant transit hotel and safari were close by which made it the perfect location.

Reviewed By Marcin WWe spent one night in a luxury version of the cottage. It is a brand new, clean and uniquely designed place. Awesome food, super comfortable beds, spacious bathroom and awesome, very helpful hosts. Experience like no other. 2 cottages, 2 families with young children. Safari - mind blowing. Totally recommended!

Reviewed By JowitoxLovely experience. Hosts were very efficient and friendly. For the price, the room was excellent. Only a two minute walk from main road, it felt like you were in the middle of the forest. The gardens were lovely with plants and birds. We had evening meal at $4 per head. Very nice Sri Lanka curry. Definitely recommended.

Reviewed By emmasM4353SZI was travelling with a friend and we had an amazing stay at Baby Elephant. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the elephant transit home so we managed to go and see the elephants at feeding time. We also went on safari which the staff helped to organise. In the morning we had the most amazing Sri Lankan breakfast - it was a feast! I would definitely recommend and visit again if I had the opportunity.

Great place
Reviewed By slobodans560Place is clean and quiet. For dinner our hosts prepared several rice and curry combinations all of which was delicious. Place owner is also safari guide. And that man have enormous knowledge about national park, animals and pretty much anything about life on Sri Lanka. He also help us to hire driver to continue trip.
