Residence Sisouk Hotel The Residence Sisouk Hotel welcomes you all year round with our warm and charming atmosphere. Located in the historic French Quarter, the building has been in the family for generations. Come to experience the history and share in the memories. Just across the street is the picturesque Wat Luang Temple. Take a walk and explore the neighborhood’s local restaurants and lifestyle. Right next to the hotel’s lobby is the famous Sinouk Cafe where you can taste coffee grown nearby in the lush Bolaven Plateau.
For your next trip to Pakse, Residence Sisouk is such a great place! Beautiful old building, nice and welcoming staff, rooms are having an excellent standard and the best is the breakfast in this wonderful space on the 5th floor! Home made cakes, fresh and crispy bread, home made strawberry jam from local farmers, eggs, bacon, fresh orange juice, very good coffee! Perfect to face the day! I definitely recommend this place and I hope to come back soon again!

Pakse is a large city that serves as a staging post for most travellers in southern Laos. As such the city is mainly a sprawling ribbon development with no great attractions other than its location. Le Jardin is a reasonably priced hotel that is used as a stopover by travellers. It’s principal attractions are the pool in the garden and the incredible staff service. The rooms are well furnished and maintained, breakfast is freshly cooked and WiFi is good throughout. Every evening the hotel minibus ferries guests who don’t want to eat locally to the downtown restaurant area. The free service leaves the hotel at 7 and returns at 9.

A piece of serenity on Don Det. Beautiful rooms, lovely pool, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and dinner as well. Mathieu the owner will go out of his way to help you book a tour, take you in a tuk tuk to the zip lining over the Mekong. I was booked for 3 days and I stayed a week.

Are you looking for a relaxing, clean and still adventurous place to stay? Located next to the historical french pier and the Irawadee Dolphins, Pomelo Restaurant & Guesthouse offers clean bedrooms each with a private living room and a stunning view over the Mekong River. Enjoy the familial hospitality and cuisine of us in this quiet area while spending your days swimming, visiting the waterfalls, kayaking or just enjoying life as beautiful as it can be.
I stayed in the bungalow which was a very short walk away from the restaurant, close to the river, behind the houses of some local families. It's a rustic building built in local style, but very comfortable with a fan and surprisingly hot shower for Laos (once I worked out the controls, red is on and green is off...). Wifi occasionally reaches the room, but is really only available in the restaurant as they work off a sim card rather than a broadband connection. The balcony has a great view over the river, but it's only downside is that there's no shade during the afternoon. There's no lock box or safe, but I never once thought that anything was at any risk. They refresh the jugs of water as often as you want which was great as it meant that I didn't have to use any bottles, and the refills were necessary as try as I might, quite often the ants got in to whatever part drunk jug I had on the go :) Pomelo is at the other end of the island from the main guest house and restaurant area, but Don Khon is small so that's not much of a problem. I opted to walk to the Li Phi falls, then got a boat back to Ban Han Khone from near Khongyai beach. The following day I took the guesthouse's recommended trip to the Khon Long waterfall which was excellent, and made all the more so by the complete lack of other people. The guest house is close to the area where the Irawaddy dolphins live, and although I was doubtful about my chances of seeing them having read that they're functionally extinct, I hired a boat for a trip and there they were almost immediately. I had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant each day and found the food to be really good. They also have a good selection of drinks on offer at very reasonable prices considering the location away from the main hub.

Kingfisher Ecolodge is located on the edge of the Xe Pian National Protected RAMSAR Park & wetland, in southern Laos. Not far from Phou Asa, Vat Tomo and Vat Phu Champasak's ancient Khmer ruins. Our Kingfisher restaurant serves delightful local and International food, nature activities are available such as hikes, mountain biking, kayaking and bird watching. Kingfisher Ecolodge is situated within local natural forests. A wonderful place to relax and explore her surroundings with or without our expert local guides. Kingfisher Ecolodge's most recent addition is a swimming pool overlooking the National Park & wetland and 9 beautifully finished Deluxe Bungalows complete with Air Conditioning, spacious rooms, with en-suite bathroom, stocked mini-fridge and Balcony to enhance on our long time favourite Comfort Bungalows.
I spent 3 nights at the Kingfisher Ecolodge in Jan 2021. I loved every minute of my time there. Time to read, reflect, watch the birds, the night sky, the sunrise, time to listen to the insects, buffalo, and very distant and quiet human noises. The rooms are well apportioned and clean. The food was very tasty. All personnel were friendly and helpful. Even last minute changes to an excursion were dealt with efficiently The bikes are good and allow for a 40km ride into the country side (guide recommended). Exploring Phu Asa on foot is doable for the medium-fit and an experience into the history of the area. The imagination is let loose! Chris is a very knowledgable host, who is willing to share his insights in the car from the airport or at the lodge itself. I will definitely come back some other season.

Baba guesthouse, the relaxing place for your exotic holidays ! - Quiet - Clean - Spacious - Comfortable - Friendly - Well located - Spoken languages : French, English, Lao, Thai.
Decent choice for Don Det but on retrospect I would have paid a little extra to stay in one of the other hotel-style accommodations on the island. Good points were the view of the river, the effective aircon, decent wifi, the cleanish room and having your own balcony. Downsides are the rock hard mattress (and just two thin pillows on a massive bed) and the balcony furniture being two hard wooden chairs. I really craved somewhere to lounge / relax in comfort when staying staying here. A couple of big cushions would make all the difference! Nowhere to refill water bottles at the accommodation itself (they provided a large bottle of water each day, but I try not to use extra plastic if I can avoid it), but the restaurants and bars opposite allow refills for a small fee.

We stayed here twice, the night before we started the Bolaven Plateau motorbike loop and the night after we finished. Good location to the bus station and right next to Miss Noy's motorbike hire place (which we highly recommend). Beds were really quite comfortable for Asia. Shower good and warm. TV didnt work but I doubt there would have been a channel we would understand. Make sure you get a room near the back of the hotel though as the road is really noisy! (I'm partially deaf and wore earplugs and it still had me awake most the night on our first stay!) Also a 6am check in which we loved after we got off our sleeper bus at 6am!!

Alisa Guesthouse is sure to make your visit to Pakse one worth remembering.
The Alisa Hotel is quite new and located behind their guesthouse on the main road. Reception was welcoming. The room was clean and modern and comfortable for a night. Bathroom was good and decent Wifi. There is storage space and a comfortable bed but no safe. Breakfast was basic but fine. We booked through Agoda but Agoda’s pay at the hotel is a scam. They charge 3% on card and if you choose to pay in local Kip their conversion rate is poor. There was little occupancy, if we stayed again we would pay the much cheaper cash rate and skip Agoda. It is fine for a night but we didn’t return to it as we passed through Paksé again and stayed at the comparable but cheaper Sang Aroun across the street.

Unique. Very cozy family accommodation with Mekong view. Excellent homemade breakfast & Diners possible. Very personalized welcome for travelers. Quiet, in a large garden on the banks of the Mekong. Boat service, tuktuk, car. Precise tips for visiting Pakse and Southern Laos. Incredible walks in the neighborhood (river, forest, jungle). Homemade Guidebook, maps & library
The setting of NKM is the definition of serene. After several days of travel from Luang Prabang, my stress just melted away within the hour. Nico (the "N" of NKM) greeted me with a welcome drink and we spent some time just visiting and relaxing. There is a large amount of information such as maps that Nico has personally created covering the most popular spots in Southern Laos available for your use. Keo (Nico's wife and the "K") was making offerings for Buddhist Lent on my first full day and invited me and the other guests to assist. She is an amazing cook and provided unforgettable flavors in her food. I cannot recommend enough a stay at NKM to rest your mind, body, and soul. When it was time to move on, I was sad to go, but I know it will be a place I visit again. Even though I had to spend a fair amount of time working, watching the butterflies in the garden and the clouds above the Mekong made it an easy pill to swallow.
