The Gasthof (Inn) Taferne is a family owned business, which is the perfect location for winter- and summer holidays as well as weekend forays and day trips. In winter you are here in the middle of SkiAmade area. The skibus stops in front of the hotel and bring you directly to the skiarea Reiteralm-Hochwurzen-Planai-Hauser Kaibling. In summer you have lots of hiking-, cycle- and mountainbike tracks to choose from and in less than 30 minutes by car you can reach many places of interest. The hotel itself offers you cosy rooms with flat-screen TV, free WIFI and balcony. The swimming pool infront of the hotel was new build in spring 2013. In spring 2014 the sauna and infraredcabine will get renovated and in addition a wall made out of special salt will get set up in the relax area. The guest room and the bar with dart machine is in the old part of the hotel which is first mentioned in 11th century. The dining room is big enough for groups, in summer time you can relax outside on our terrace. Events like grill evenings and special farmer breakfasts in our hut are on our weekly program during summer.
Stayed here with an organised group of around 30 of us in February 2022 just after COVID regulations had been relaxed. Hotel is family run for 5 generations, currently run by Kevin and his wife. This was the first time the group had used this hotel having previously used another at the other end of the resort in Hausennstal. Hotel is situated around a kilometre from the nearest bubble lifts with access to Reiteralm this links to Hochwurzen and on to Plania. Rooms are definitely Austrian style with lots on wood, quite basic generous size, with balconies good heating and insulated glass windows, Austrian style beds good shower rooms with endless hot water. Breakfast is served in a specific spacious breakfast room. All traditional fare with unlimited amounts of servings for those with large appetites! Dinner was a four course affair, salad bar, soup, choice of three main courses and desert. Certain amount of traditional Austrian style food here, but being used to it for thirty years was expected. What was surprising was the range and quality of the food. Everything was beautifully served and quite exceptional for a mid range hotel. Chef has been with them for 29 years and a second chef for 2 years. Staff were very helpful and cheerful despite being busy during dinner. I was so impressed with the food presentation, I took photos to send to my wife. Never done that before! Ski bus stops outside the hotel so transport to skiing was simple. It’s a Lyle way out of the way in Mandling but is a hidden gem of great vale. Kevin his wife and their baby Carla are great hosts.

The combination of rustic and modern style, combined with an outstanding location is what makes this place so special. The cozy cottages, which are built up in block-unit system consist of wood from the region. Each cottage has its own “Private Spa” and for our hotel-guests we offer our big “Panorama-Spa” for a refreshing and enjoyable holiday. Discover our sunny sides: In the winter a ski slope, which allow the access to the ski domain Schladming-Dachstein just next to the cottage village. In the summer it is possible to start many wanderings directly from the “Almwelt Austria” away. The idyl, fresh air and the peace of the mountains will let you forget about the daily grind .
We spent 1 week in Seenerin 1 cottage. We were very dissappointed due to broken window in the kids rooms, washing machine not working for 4 days (repaired the last day of our stay), a lot of garbage in the wardrobes on our arrival and water shortage in the evening. The towels have to be paid extra (charging the towels and bedding for this money issl not acceptable) and we have to use the towels thw whole week. We ordered and paid bread the last day in advance and they have not delivered it to us neither apologize. We will not come again and neither we do reccommend it. Austrian alp tourism could be more tourist friendly. Schladming cottage owners seem to have too many guests so they do not treat them as this is in other alps places we have been.

Enjoy glorious vacation days set against the imposing backdrop of the Dachstein massif, relax out on our sunny terrace, discover a renewed sense of inner harmony! Four kilometers above Schladming and directly next to the Planai, from the very first moment you will be able to escape and begin to recharge your batteries!
My wife and I came for two nights during a side trip from our Vienna work trip. It is very conveniently located right near the Planai ski resort. The staff at Schrockerhof were incredibly friendly/helpful. They arranged all of our ski rental equipment which was waiting for us upon our arrival. The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet and dinner (both included in the cost) quality and service were wonderful. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

Self catering rooms a 3 minute walk from the station on the road into the Stadtmitte, last house on left before river. Mine was in a separate building across Bahnhofstraße, next to a Billa supermarket for food, soap etc. Clean, very spacious, quiet, balcony, coffee maker, microwave etc.

upgraded bedrooms make this hotel very pleasant. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating The food is very good and the rooms pleasant. There is a cosy bar, but perhaps the only downside is that there is only one small seating area for relaxing after the meal.
