Probably best known for its eponymous beer, Sapporo—the capital of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island—has maintained the youthful and open atmosphere of the 1972 Olympic Winter Games, drawing international visitors for its annual Snow Festival and its world-famous ramen. Those seeking out the full diversity of Japanese cuisine will want to visit: a city with a ramen-inspired theme park is one that embraces and pampers foodies.

Only stayed 1 day (overnight) and it was really great. The bus stop is basically on the main street in front of the hotel. Very convenient. We got there early by a couple hours. They told us no check in until 3 of course, but they guided us to the lobby to relax with refreshments until 3. Very polite. When the room is ready, they grab our luggage bags for us and show us the room and where everything is and how to use it. Wasn't expecting this. The prepared course dinner/breakfast were really good. I have never had these kinds of meals before. Maybe there are better ones, but it was tasty and the presentation was great. Of the 2, I preferred the breakfast. I have never been to a onsen, so I don't know if this one is top of the line. But te facilities felt good to me. There was plenty of showers. The locker/changing room is a bit small. There is 2 indoor pools and an outdoor 1, and a sauna. It was middle of the week and not vacation season, but it wasn't crowded and there was plenty of room. It is open to 3am as well. The water felt great, so relaxing. There was always refreshments available and all the staff were very helpful. Highly recommend.

As soon as you step into the lobby, you are greeted by a courtyard and a stage adorned with decorations reflecting the current season. While boasting a central location in the middle of the hot spring town, with just ten rooms per floor, this inn offers an atmosphere of quiet relaxation, and a traditional Japanese aesthetic permeates every corner of its Japanese style rooms. You can enjoy the daily changes in scenery from Fugetsu on the top floor, or the beauty of the seasons from Momiji Yu. There are two large communal baths supplied with spring water from three hot springs, including the famous hot spring Shikanoyu, in addition to three private baths available for reservation. A Hokkaido Food Meister explores the entire prefecture in search of the freshest ingredients, which are carefully prepared by Japanese chefs for the Japanese kaiseki dinner. There is also a drinks selection, with plenty of excellent Hokkaido sakes on offer.
The whole hotel gives you a relaxed vibe. For one, you could sit and listen to music while enjoying free drinks and snacks in the lounge. For another, after taking a hot bath in the onsen, you can further relax yourself with the comfort of massage chair. The reception is welcoming and helpful (note: I speak a little bit of Japanese). The room is well-maintained and spacious. The supper is flavorful, while the breakfast buffet is also enjoyable.

From Sapporo JR, take subway to ODORI station, I can't remember the Exit number. Ask the staff at ODORI station, it'll make your life easier to find a hotel. My room is Japanese style, room size is ok, Hotel Staffs is very nice. First, my room was near hotel staff room which is very noisy so I asked them to change, they changed to room for me, much better. Staff can't speak English but can understand what I said. I liked the shared bathroom, it clean. I tried to go when there's no people!! There is one hot water pool and many other shower. I liked it !! Cons of the hotel, is from Odori station, you have to walk underground quite far to the Exit. and from the Exit, for first time traveller to the hotel, it's difficult to find a hotel, hotel sign is in Japanese. I asked people around. Wifi is superfast. Recommended for people to visit Sapporo Snow Festival !!

Food is beyond my expectation Service is impeccable; felt pampered and taken care of the moment we park our car at lobby. And the most friendly and talented bartender, Mr Narita to end your night with great drinks and conversation!

I went there with my daughter. We stayed at the Japanese style room and we both love it so much. Food is great. Service is amazing. And the spa is super relaxing - just a bit pricey.

Compared to my earlier stays in Ryokans throughout Japan, Nakamuraya is just not good enough. Their Onsen is a laugh, barely bigger than my bathtub at home and cramped inside the building with no veiws to the outside. Their food is just about adequate, nothing to write home about. In short - not impressed!!

This time I stayed on a higher floor plan with breakfast. This accommodation seems that it has just opened, and the facilities and guest rooms were very clean. It's a little far from Sapporo Station and Odori Station, but there is a convenience store next to it, so I don't feel any inconvenience. The most recommended hot spring is the highly transparent Karurusu hot spring, which warms up to the core, and has a bathroom, an open-air bath, and a sauna, making it compact and satisfying. Breakfast was not a buffet style, it was a very high level and very good with a conbination of local and creative dishes. I ate the atka mackerel hitsumabushi for the first time, but it was as rich and delicious as the eel.
