In the land of castles , Lunigiana , Tuscany , in a typical ancient village , we have recovered a thousand year old stone building which is now used as a B & B . 3 spacious rooms with bathroom and breakfast with local products characterize the structure surrounded by the peaceful green Valdantena but not far from many other popular holiday destinations : 5 Terre , Versilia etc. The place is ideal for those who aspire to a holiday in touch with nature : walks in lush forests , and along the traditional route of the Via Francigena , in season copious collection of fragrant porcini mushrooms , fish-filled rivers with crystal clear waters . The daily cost of your stay is 35 € / person. Optional breakfast ( cheese and salami , apple pie and buccellati , jams , honey, fruit juices , muesli , tea, coffee, milk , yogurt , fresh fruit )€ 5.
Arriving damp and late in the day after traversing the Cisa Pass and almost running down the hills to escape an imminent thunder storm, I was made very welcome and settled into my extremely comfortable and well appointed room. Dinner was home cooked and delicious, the bed very comfortable and after sleeping soundly, the breakfast was superb! This stay was a highlight of my journey to Rome, and I very highly commend it.

An absolutely fabulous place owned and operated by fantastic folks. Accommodating doesn’t begin to describe the service and hospitality of this place. I felt relaxed and welcome from the very first moment. Tranquil gardens to enjoy your favorite book as well as a variety of books to choose from in the little library. I got a chance to stay in two rooms during my extended stay and both were great. I’d suggest the “Terrace” room though. Mainly because it’s on the 3rd floor and has a great view of the garden and the mountains surrounding Carrara. Margherita was an absolute angel with lots of helpful information on the area and suggestions for tours available.

We stayed in Sep 21 with a Tour of 48 Maltese people. We had a room with a view of Toscana mountains and city lights below. It's a family run business, they treated you as one of their families. Food is to exellent and taste of italian food. Enjoyable stay. Very clean rooms and love the outdoor pool and garden.

I booked directly at the hotel website. The only available option was “Alberico vista mare”. There was no extra information about the room type in the booking area, so I checked the website of the hotel for info. This made me believe I booked a suite; with a terrace and kitchenette. When we checked in and were given the room key, it became clear that we only had one double room with sea view, but no terrace or kitchenette. The woman at the reception told us that I should have known it was only a double room from looking at the pictures. This is not true, because with the Alberico vista mare you also see a picture from another room (the one with the kitchenette). Apparently they divided the Alberico suite into three different rooms (Vista mare, Giardino and Mountain View), but this is not clear from the website or during the booking process. In my opinion this is something that should have been made clear in written text, not by looking at the provided pictures. The price we paid would have been fine if we were given the whole suite, but it was overpriced for just one room. We complained about the disappointment and not clear website. At first the lady at the reception was not very eager to meet our feelings. She told us to think about our options, but we actually didn’t really have any options as the hotel was fully booked. The next day there was another lady at the reception and she made us feel the same way at first, but in the end promised us she would talk to the manager and see if she could work something out. The next day we didn’t see her, but the day after that we went to the reception again. She was there and told us she managed to give us a discount of about 10% and a free bottle of wine because of the inconvenience. So the first days we felt quite bummed about the whole thing, but in the end we were feeling a little bit better because the discount made us feel like they did acknowledged our complaints. Maybe we are a bit biased by the whole experience as mentioned above, but we feel we’ve stayed in better or more luxurious hotels than this one for the same amount of money. The double bed was actually two separate mattresses with sheets for a double bed. The mattresses were quite soft, we like them firmer. We had expected the lay out of the hotel grounds to be a bit more extensive. So you would have more privacy, but it was rather close. Also from our bathroom and bedroom we had two windows that looked out over the courtyard. This is where you can have breakfast in the morning. So when you take a shower in the morning you have to close the blinds for privacy. Because the blinds are made of wood, this makes the bed and bathroom quite dark and you have to put on a light. The room has no fabric curtains just these wooden blinds. The sunlight peaks through the cracks in the morning, so we woke up quite early. This didn’t give us a really rested feeling of being on holiday. We also spent a couple days near the pool. It is a nice sized pool with fine bedding. The bedding does get very hot in the sun, but the hotel provides towels. They play music all day at the courtyard and near the pool. I think this is maybe an attempt to disguise the sounds of the road near the hotel. The hotel is near SS1, which is a busy and noisy road. The views from the hotel are okay, but you can only see a glimpse of the sea; the rest is just trees and houses. The hotel has no restaurant, but in several minutes driving there are multiple options for fine dining. Breakfast is really nice and has a wide variety of options. Also the waiter is really kind. Parking is between olive trees and this offered shade.

Located in the ancient Carrara downtown, 2nd floor historical family building, B&B "La Bottega d'Arte", features accommodation with free WiFi and a shared lounge kitchen/dining area with coffee/tea machines, nicrowaves, and frigo. Rooms are equipped with flat-screen TV, clima, parquet, marble bathrooms. Viareggio is 34 km, La Spezia/Cinque Terre is 35 km, Pisa International Airport is 62 km away.
I spent a total of three nights here while exploring this part of Italy by bike. I had my reservations about booking at first, because I’m used to seeking accommodation in youth hostels, but if the money is not an issue I am convinced this place will give you bang for your buck and then some. Let me first talk about the room I stayed in itself. This was very comfortable; a large and comfy bed, comfy chairs, a bathtub, bathrobes, hairdryer, airconditioning, and television are all provided in the room itself. The remotes were wrapped in plastic to make it extra clean and corona-safe, which came on top of the already impressive cleanliness in the rest of the room. Additionally , I loved having a view of the surrounding mountains from my window. Other than the room itself, this B&B provides a kitchen/dining room you can use (with complementary fruits/snacks/bread/drinks), and a garage in case you cone by car or bike or motorcycle (or heck, even your skateboard could go there if you just ask for it). The location is wonderfully central in the old town of Carrara, not even a minute’s walk away from the beautiful Piazza Alberica one way, and an Esselunga supermarket the other. It’s not fat towards the surrounding mountains and marble quarries. I suppose for tourists who visit this region in the summer just for the beaches, options that are closer to the beaches are also available, but for people looking for a calm and beautiful private place to relax, this is a great option. Lastly I should give my compliments to the host, who has been friendly, hospitable, helpful, attentive, easy to reach and communicate with, and as a bonus quite good at speaking english. I will remember this place fondly, partially thanks to him.
