Quiet and surrounded by nature, but only a few minutes from the center of Cahuita, its beaches and the National Park.3 Bamboo offers rooms or villa with all comfort and a beautiful large swimming pool with jacuzzi. Possibility of breakfast, bicycle rental, excursions
We had been at 3 Bamboo two years ago and it was as nice as we had remembered it. We returned to the Sula tree house and our friends were in the connected unit. We enjoyed going back and forth and enjoying the outdoor spaces. All four of us used the kitchen facilities and really liked spending time in the beautiful pool after our morning advetures.

Playa Negra Guesthouse is a small beach front hotel located on Playa Negra of Cahuita, on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, one kilometer north of the centre of the town of Cahuita. Opened in December 2008, the hotel offers upper scale accommodation consisting of three lovely, fully equipped Caribbean style cottages, three tastefully decorated guest rooms, swimming pool and pool house. The cottages and rooms overlook lush, carefully maintained gardens. Some unit have A/C.
We spent six nights at Playa Negra Guesthouse and absolutely loved it! The owners, Marise and Pierre, are kind, very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. They are enthusiastic in pointing out and teaching about the animals and plants on the property. We saw sloths, multiple bird varieties, frogs and heard monkeys. The gardens with pool area is stunningly beautiful and peaceful. The Playa Negra beach and ocean are just steps out the door from the guesthouse. Our room was lovely, meticulously clean and refreshed every day. It was an easy walk to the amazing Parque Nacional Cahuita, multiple restaurant choices and small grocery stores. My favorite memory is sitting on our veranda in the morning, drinking coffee, and listening to both the ocean waves lapping the shoreline and howler monkeys in the trees! We did not have a car and didn't need one. The owners arranged for a driver from San Jose for us. One day we took a local bus to Manzanillo and Punta Uva. It is also easy to arrange for a cab. We LOVED our stay at Playa Negra Guesthouse!!

Colina Secreta is a family-run glamping hotel settled over 6 acres jungle private reserve at 1.6 km from the renowned Cocles Beach on The Caribbean Sea, and 5 km from Puerto Viejo Town. Colina Secreta is a place where you can connect with yourself, get inspired by the sounds of the private jungle and experience the enchanting atmosphere and warm hospitality. A/C, private parking.
We were in the casa del artista for 3 weeks in the middle of the jungle. The house is very beautiful and the nature surroundings breathtaking. We’ve seen many animals including a sloth climbing a tree right next to the house. Since the house is in the jungle animals are permanent guests in and outside the house for us a perfect way to feel more comfy with them? The house is completely covered in mosquito nets though so don’t be scared. The owners are so hearthwarmy and lovingly nice people and the breakfast they make is a must have in a beatiful environment.

El Encanto is a small first class bed and breakfast inn located within 5 minutes walking distance from the village of Cahuita on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It is close to the Cahuita National Park where sloths, monkeys, birds and other types of wildlife can be seen. The closest beach is within 100 meters from El Encanto. The inn has four tastefully decorated bungalows and a fully furnished house with three bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining room. Each bedroom has a private bathroom and balcony. El Encanto is renowned for the quality of its personalized service, the generous and healthy tropical breakfasts, the beautiful surroundings and artwork. Above all, it is admired for the peace and serenity of its garden. It is a place that appeals specially to those for whom harmony and well being are priceless.
We booked this stay directly through the hotel. Communication with Savannah was prompt and professional; she was kind and helpful during our stay. We felt happy throughout our six-night stay. This is a beautiful and peaceful setting. There are comfortable little cabin rooms with paths connecting the pool and reception/dining areas. The AC worked great, the bed was comfy, the shower was hot and it was quiet. The breakfast was terrific - fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea, breads (including mini donuts some days!), cooked to order eggs or pancakes...yum. We liked the honor bar and the option to order lunch poolside... so relaxing! We spent time walking in the park and going to a beach each day (no car needed). We opted not to use a guide since we’d done so many guided walks while in Tortuguero just prior to arriving in Cahuita. We still spotted lots of wildlife including sloths three times. El Encanto was a perfect location - close to the park yet away from the noises of town.

Our hotel has 7 bedrooms with private bathrooms, 1 apartment 6 persons, equipped community kitchen, pool and jacuzzi. The hotel rooms have been refurbished. The property serves a quality breakfast and hearty with fresh and varied every morning from 7.30am to 9am. We have free parking. A shuttle service is available for guests to drop you at the entrance of Cahuita National Park. You will come to the park 300 meters from the hotel. Thanks to the proximity of the national park, you'll have access to landscapes and remarkable biodiversity.
Amazing hosts! French family who love what they do and make you feel right at home. They gave us a full introduction on the region and all its possibilities and sights. We followed their advice on many of the suggestions on restaurants and tours and were always very happy! Breakfast is definitely worth having at least once during your stay to try the home made treats based on local produce (mango jam, fresh daily juice, etc). It is preferable to have a car in the region (parking available at the hotel) but if not, the hosts offer shuttle service to the national park of Cahuita and the local bus stop is not far.

Stayed here as part of an organised tour. The town could only be accessed by boat, so all luggage and us were transported on a long skinny boat which was an experience in itself! The lodge had lovely grounds and also was close to the central area where the restaurant and shops were. Rooms were basic with two single beds and a bathroom. A ceiling fan was provided for cooling the room down but this didn’t do a great deal. The room was clean and the window was fitted with a fly screen to stop the mosquitos conning in to . Bathroom however wasn’t great, the sink was hanging off the wall and loose and was covered in black mood. There was a wooden mirror with a little bamboo shelf to put toiletries on but that was also not very clean at all. No fridge in the room to keep anything cold. No safe also. Pool was a nice relief after a hot day though and there was lots of green macaws in the trees which were nice to watch

This Hostel is all you want and need in a place like Tortuguero. Nothing too fancy (not necessary) and nothing missing. The location is spot on and the owner is a nice Dutch lady (bring magazines in Dutch for bonus points!). You wake up, walk to the beautiful beach and get started on your day. Definitely recommended

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is perfectly located in front of the sea, by the beach (you cannot swim there and they remind you so) away from the nice little village so it is very quiet. I had to change my booking date and they didn't charge me the extra night. They also come to welcome you at the dock to get you to the hotel, which is great service. The rooms are basic but with fan and good wifi to book the park entrance! The staff is super friendly and makes the stay extra special. I did the canoa tour with Roberto and it was great, he knew his stuff. Highly recommended. They also explained to us how to walk in the park and get to the Cerro Tortuguero, which is a must to see the sea, river and canals from up. The walk up is very easy, actually you climb stairs. Very recommended to get a real feel of Tortuguero and Costa RIca.

Life is at its tranquil best at Villas del Caribe. The days go something like this: You wake to the sound of bird songs and a view from your bed of silvery palms and clear blue sea. You throw open the sliding doors and take to the hammock on the balcony for a little rest, refreshed by the ocean breeze. You may now be ready to take a dip in our swimming pool and enjoy the elevated thatched Jacuzzi for a relaxing massage.Once the lure of the sea becomes too much, you wander through the landscaped gardens onto the beach path, where you face a decision between the long, deserted golden sand beach to the left or the many pristine golden sand beaches to the right. You settle for one of the shallow, sandy natural lagoons formed by the coral reef right offshore, and watch tropical fish wiggle past your toes. After a fresh water shower on your terrace, you walk over to the SeaSide Restaurant for breakfast or a snack, then you take a bike and cycle down the flat paved road past fields, forest, a few thatched bars and restaurants to Puerto Viejo for coffee or a drink, the local gossip, and some good, fresh fish at the beachfront store. You spend the afternoon alternating between the beach and the sea, the loungers on the terrace, and the hammocks on the balcony.
We had a sea-side villa. We loved how spacious it was with fully equiped kitchen and living area with terrasse with two bedrooms and balcony upstaits, 50 m from the sea, across from thr Jaguar Rescue Center. The room had seen some years and nothing was brand new, but clean and in working order. Location was good as we had a car, central to go to various beaches. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was nuce but there was no bar open in the evening for a drink.
