The university city of Pavia is ideal day-trip fodder from nearby Milan. Its highlight attraction is the Certosa di Pavia—a sprawling monastic complex, and one of Italy’s top Renaissance architectural hubs—though castles, churches, and other landmarks beckon.

Le Stanze del Cardinale Bed&Breakfast welcomes Italian and foreign guests seeking to experience the glamour of a millennial city full of surprises. Here, spaces are not huge, but always carefully furnished. The exquisite care for each detail matches the almost monastic rigour of the entire structure (probably an old tower) also thanks to several 'little luxuries' that meet the expectations of even the most demanding guests. The 'Cardinal's Suite" on the second floor can accommodate a family of 3 people. All rooms on the other floors also enjoy unique vistas: some on the Cathedral, others on the rooftops of the old city. In these rooms, antique furniture and paintings coexist with all sorts of modern comforts: air-conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and free WiFi Internet connection. Breakfast includes a wide buffet, warm dishes and an italian coffee selections and teas. Monuments, restaurants, shops and the University campus: everything is really at hand.
My colleague and I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent as you are right in the center of the city and able to walk everywhere, perfect for us walking to our meetings. The breakfast is in the Arnaboldi Palace, a three minute walk, and has a good variety of both savory and sweet for breakfast. The place was gorgeous! Both of our rooms were very cozy and felt as if we were staying a very historical building. The owner was very friendly who checked us in. I will say that there are many old stairs so it is not suitable for young children or people who have a hard time with stairs.

The Charm of Environments La Maison d'hôtes "Galleria Arnaboldi ", in the heart of Pavia, occupies the north-east wing of the palace built by architect Balossi for the Count Bernardo Arnaboldi Gazzaniga at the end of the XIX century. The central hall, part of the shared guest spaces along with the kitchen, overlooks the inside of the gallery with an elegant balcony on one side, and the portico of Piazza del Lino with a large terrace on the other. Elegance & Comfort We offer two suites, with air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The first suite ("Capriccio") is very spacious, with a double bed and a single sofa bed, and the bathroom is equipped with a large walk-in shower and a hot tub. It derives its name from the "Architectural Capriccio with Figures", an imposing XVIII century painting that takes up an entire wall, creating a very scenic backdrop. The second suite ("Camino") offers a double and a single bed, and it is equipped with a loft and a fireplace (from whence it takes its Italian name). The bathroom with shower is located in a corner near the terrace, shaded by a small pergola of roses. An Exclusive Setting The Maison d'Hotes formula allows our guests to experience the genuine atmosphere of an historic palace while enjoying all the services of a B&B 'of charm', from breakfast served in the room or on the terrace, to the finest catering for lunch and dinner, and a private driver. The location, used many times as a set for photo shoots and films, is also available for social events, photo shoots, exhibitions, and presentations that require a refined and unusual setting.
We spent 2 nights in the Elegant Galleria Arnaboldi, wonderful, beautifully furnished, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast, and it is located in the heart of the old city of Pavia, walking distance from all the cities historical sights. The staff were so warm and helpful, and will help you arrange tours to local vineyards etc., If you like old world elegance, then this is the place for you.

I read about this town, and decided to stop for few nights it didn’t disappoint nice town and amazing Certosa nearby definitely recommended to visit Beautiful little hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff it’s on a high floor elevator is tiny I only used it on arrival and departure if you travel with big suitcases could be a problem nice room and breakfast in a salon / common room type small but fresh breakfast with coffee pastries and fruit and yogurt. Nice touch they have tea fruit and some cakes served in the room all day so if you come back late and want a cup of tea or a nice fresh apricot or orange it’s there and free bottled water in the room The only disadvantage, it gets noisy outside in the evening main pedestrian street and loud crowds lots of young people in town You need to close the window TV was also a bit difficult to operate and it kept coming back on after you turned it off I ended up unplugging it from the wall bathroom is good bathrobe provided room is clean highly recommended location is great

This was a great stop along a journey that originated in Ireland and has seen lockdown after lockdiwn during these curious times. It is a memorable place due to the overall sense of calm that I felt here during these stressful times. The manager "Mano" does an excellent job. The place is clean and comfortable. It is extremely well priced. Its an easy walk from the bus or train. Each room has a refrigerator and a balcony. There is well functioning wife free.

It's B&B place connected to a restaurant. Owners are extremely nice. Apartments are nice, spacious and renovated. Very central location. Perfect place to stay for a short trip. Place is a little bit tricky to find, when the restaurant is not open, the entrance is hidden in the patio.

Incantevole.
