More than just a stage for the annual “Running of the Bulls” festival, Pamplona offers a rich taste of Spain’s northern Navarre region. Medieval walls surround a walkable old town, where Basque-style tapas bars rub shoulders with Gothic cathedrals and abundant green spaces.

Loved the Landaben Hotel not only for being clean, tidy and very affordable, but also for the hard working staff and for Señor Iñaki, the owner, who is the heart of the place, being the first there and the last leaving. The bar downstairs is the perfect place to properly start the day, enjoying a coffee con leche and one (or more) of those good pintxos or tortillas, locally prepared. The restaurant aside the bar, offers daily menus, having 5 or 6 options to choose from, for both 1st and 2nd dish, plus desert. Large servings, good food, fast service, excellent! Muchos gracias, un grad saludo! Wish to see you well, again, soon!

Casa Otano is restaurant with a cosy pension. The food is traditional Spanish with a Basque flare the wine list has a wide choice to suit both palate and budget. Service is prompt and friendly. I like the old world ambiance and look forward to going back.

When we first arrived at 3pm there was no one there and the place was locked. We had no wifi so we couldn't contact the property. We called the number but no one spoke English. We waited 30mins for someone to come and open up the hotel but nothing happened! We found someone who could speak Spanish and English then proceed to call the number again. The lady came 20mins later and instead of opening up she approached us at the pub next door and stood there until we were finished. Very uncomfortable and felt like we were being rushed. I gave her a poor checkin rating on bookings.com. The 'host' (lets call her that) kept continually coming in to check up on us through out the evening. There are others on our level and we all share the same bathroom but she kept telling my cousin and i off for leaving the bathroom light on and the hallway light. It wasnt even us. It was sooooo hot in our rooms because there is no air conditioning! So, we were out wandering around the streets. We came back to a message that we didnt lock any of the doors (checking up on us again) and if she looked at the cameras she would see we locked them all. Must of been someone else. My door wouldnt open properly, you had to push it around a bit to open it which made lots of noise and annoyed the people next door. We were meant to spend 2 nights here but arranged a train to san sebation for the next day. Seems like there is some trust issues and we didnt feel comfortable here!

Let's start with the positive aspects. The room, in a pensìon, was 30mn walk away from the city center and was easy to find. The check in has been made through what's app and a keybox, although we arrived during reception opening hours. The neighborhood felt safe and has a couple stores around. We paid 40 euros a night, which felt like a deal considering that we booked last minute. The beds were comfortable. Now onto the negative aspects. We have stayed to a wide range of pensions across different cities in Spain, most often in similar price ranges, and have been underwhelmed by this one. The flat is made of 4 rooms, with a shared bathroom and a kitchen. The sound insulation is terrible and we have been waken up by guests or staff on multiple occasions, day and night. The whole flat felt dated, just like the shower (no pressure). Very limited use of the kitchen, no instructions given (check in, check out, etc), no shower gel, no coffee machine, no AC (which can be a big problem given the temperatures in the summer)... I probably wouldn't come again. Below is the TV, probably about 15 inches..

After having been on the Camino for four days, this was luxury. We stayed in a double room with the bathroom in the room for 50€. The same room with a shared bath was 45€. It was simple and a bit noisy at night, but suited our needs well. I included a photo of the shared bathroom.

Lovely hostel walking distance from the heart of Pamplona. We just spent one night but everything was perfect. We got a room at the opposite side of the road which allowed a silent environment. Miguel will kindly take care of your check in and check out. There is a parking near by that is 10€ per 24h. Would definitely come back here.
