With hundreds of man-made lakes, state parks, casinos, museums and nightlife and dining opportunities in revitalized downtown areas in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, there is a lot to see and do in the Sooner State. The state is dotted with phenomenal lakes where swimming, boating and bass fishing are the most desired activities. Some of the state’s most popular lakes include Broken Bow Lake located near the Quachita Mountains; Grand Lake in the northeastern corner of the state at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and Lake Murray in the hills in the southern part of the state.
While the state is known for its many outdoor activities like great fishing, golf, hiking, canoeing and boating, make sure you don’t overlook its fantastic museums. Heading the list are Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, featuring the world’s largest collection of art and artifacts from the American West; the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, which tells the story of the American Cowboy; and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, which has a permanent collection of American and European art. A venerable family favorite activity is Frontier City Amusement Park in Oklahoma City, which has dozens of rides and shows.

This non-chain "no frills" motel was great! Based on the reviews here I decided to take a chance and was glad that I did. Motel is located in a decent area where we felt safe. Within walking distance (and I walked a few miles in the morning) there is a Chick-fil-a, Hobby Lobby and Burger King. A short drive away (5 min or less) is a Whataburger. Check-in was quick and efficient and the guy checking us in was very friendly. Our room was clean, large, comfortable and modern, though I did feel like the mattress wasn't very firm and I would end up kind of dipping down in the middle (if that makes sense). Shower and toilet had good water pressure. Breakfast dining area was quite small and was right off of the lobby. Everything was clean and there was a hand sanitizer by the serving counter. Not a lot of choices but enough for me as there were the DIY waffles. I also noticed there were 3 cereal choices plus instant oatmeal, pre-packaged blueberry muffins, OJ and apple juice, coffee/tea. Great overall experience, price is definitely a bonus! Will definitely stay here again when traveling to Texas!

This motel was our top choice as it was set back off the main roadway and had good reviews. Our room was at the back of the motel and was nice. The price was comparable to others in the area. It is a small town with not much to offer. We dined at the Farmhouse Cafe.

Although my husband & I were only in town for two nights, we had a lovely stay in the Hearthstone room. One of my favorite things about bed and breakfasts is that you feel as though you are a guest in someone's home. It was evident there was much thought put into the decor as we were surrounded by beautiful, seemingly very personal items throughout the inn. The innkeepers were warm and friendly, the amenities were outstanding (especially those chocolate chip cookies!), and the bed was quite comfortable. Next time we come to Norman we will certainty return!

Built in 1994, this bed and breakfast has the look and feel of a 1900's mansion, accompanied by a wrap-around porch, gazebo, and grand staircase. Jacuzzi tubs, flat screen tv's, and beverages are found in every room, from the elegant main house suites to the rustic Pine Cone Cottage. Tempting aromas permeate the home during breakfast and dinner, and international hospitality greets guests around every corner. There's no need to get ready early as we deliver a freshly prepared private breakfast to each room.
My wife and I recently stayed here while visiting family in the area. We stayed in the English Hunt room which is on the second floor of the Inn. We arrived slightly later than planned but the host was able to make it so that we could check ourselves in. It went very smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice- like staying in a relative's house but with our own bathroom. At a little after 4 in the morning, we were awakened by what sounded like a domestic dispute in the adjoining room. After about five minutes of listening to VERY angry yelling we determined that it was probably not a fight but it was a RUDE unbelievably- loud telephone argument. This continued for a few more minutes so I knocked on the door and asked if everything was okay? The woman who answered the door answered in broken English that everything was fine she was just dealing with a problem with her daughter in Vietnam. From the looks of the room the woman was living there although I can't say for certain. Then she closed the door and continued yelling into the phone. My wife texted the host and also called and left the host a message. Shortly after that, the yelling decreased in volume. We finally got to sleep at around 6. When we left in the morning, the woman in the adjoining room had her door wide open, gave us a dirty look as we passed and then followed us down the hallway watching us as we left. A truly bizarre twist on what otherwise would have been a nice stay.

5 Star Bed and Breakfast, just 5 minutes from Downtown Oklahoma City and Bricktown. 2 Minutes from OKC Zoo and Remington Horse Racing & Casino. Historic Home of Oil Baron and Oklahoma Governor Robert S. Kerr, 1935-1949. Orthodox Monastery from 1969 to 1990. 10,000 square foot Stone Castle-like estate, 15 wooded acres, 4 acre lake, Vintage Barn, wildlife, fishing, year-round heated pool overlooking lake. Conference, Event, and Wedding Venue.
We had the best time at the Monastery. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Loved the warm swimming pool and great breakfasts. Loved sitting out in the evenings watching the fireflies come out. Very comfortable bed in The Nest. This place is EXACTLY why it’s so much more fun to stay at a great BnB instead of a boring cookie cutter hotel.

Hootie Creek Guest House is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Talihina, offering a quaint environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. Guest rooms offer air conditioning, and Hootie Creek Guest House makes getting online easy as free wifi is available. In addition, guests can enjoy free breakfast during their visit. As an added convenience, there is free parking available to guests. Travelers looking to enjoy some shrimp can head to Pam's Diner. Otherwise, you may want to check out a Mexican restaurant such as El Rancho Mexican Grill. If you are interested in exploring Talihina, check out a state park, such as Talimena State Park. Enjoy your stay in Talihina!
If you like old hotel type locations then you will probable like Hootie. It does have the old hotel feel and decor including a couple of nice seating areas to use in the evenings. They have a self serve beer and liquor selection which you pay for what you consume. On site manager was friendly and showed us around. The rooms are upstairs so you need to negotiate a couple of flights of stairs with your baggage. Our room didn’t have a closet nor any place to hang any clothes. Only one chair in the room so you will need to use the common areas in the evening if you want to relax. TV is a small computer size screen. Bed was okay and room was clean except the shower/tub area. Very small bathroom. Lots of things you would expect with an old hotel type room but I think we will look elsewhere for a room next time and likely that won’t be in Talihina as there isn’t much else to choose from. Limited eating establishments also. I think next time we want to drive through Talimena State Park we will stay in Mena, Arkansas.

Hotel
This hotel is new so everything looks nice but it has a fatal flaw. More on that later. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, the beds are fine, and the enhanced Wi-Fi is okay. The wood construction of the hotel means you will hear every step of the guests staying above you. Take this seriously if you are a light sleeper and ask to be on the 4th floor. It sounded like a herd of elephants were above us. The breakfast is very weak compared to other Fairfield Inns. The selection of items is slim. It feels like they are trying to run this hotel on the cheap. Even the selection at their little “Corner Market” is very sparse compared to other Fairfield Inns. The fatal flaw of this hotel is the staff who are in serious need of training and a shift in mindset. Most of the time the front desk is left empty. There is usually a sign that says they are tending to something else on the property. You will undoubtedly have to wait no matter when you show up there. If you call the front desk the phone will ring and ring and ring. We were never able to get the front desk to answer a call. We had to go down to the desk and wait for someone to show up. Very frustrating! Housekeeping knocked on the door every day despite the fact that we had a do not disturb sign out. They said they just wanted to know if we were in the room and when we were leaving. Weird. They said they had to check off the room on a clipboard they were carrying. Their convenience trumped our do not disturb sign. At the bottom of the fire escape/stairwell, the exit door is propped open 24/7 with an old piece of tile leaving the entire hotel vulnerable to someone walking in from the side parking lot. It looks like someone props the door open so they can go smoke and get back in easily. The exit door has a key reader, but it is apparently disabled and the door says “exit only” which is why the stairwell door is likely propped open. Why don’t they just keep the door locked but require a guest key to enter like every other Fairfield Inn? We never saw the manager and we have stayed there multiple times for multiple days. The staff park their cars right in front of the hotel under the port cochere. Not only does this discourage people from unloading in the most convenient place, it indicates how little the staff think of their guests. It is also indicative of the overall lack of sophistication in the management of this hotel. Apparently, they can't seem to figure out that the guests deserve to use the space and not the employees. Again, their convenience trumps guest convenience. This hotel is under staffed and they just do not know how to provide basic customer service. I’m confident that if a Marriott executive stayed here for 3 days to test the experience they would quickly realize how bad it is and pull the franchise license. When the newness wears off the physical attributes of this hotel, it will not be worth the money to stay there at all.

Located just 10 minutes away from Will Rogers International Airport, The National, Autograph Collection offers boutique accommodations, elevated amenities, distinctive dining, and versatile event space in the heart of Downtown Oklahoma City. Once the largest building in Oklahoma, our premium hotel offers the best experiences in OKC both beyond our doors and within, with a variety of dining options and quality on-site amenities including a fitness center and nearly 18,000 square feet of event space.
I booked this hotel in part because it was new and in a restored building. The restoration did not disappoint. Even if you don’t stay here and are downtown, I’d recommend going inside just to see the lobby area. It was grand. I had a drink at the bar but didn’t eat in the restaurant. Valet parking was $30/day. The room was small but there was adequate space in the bathroom. I couldn’t get the thermostat to go below 68. The water pressure was what I would call normal. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

This hotel offers single, double and triple guest rooms, all with queen beds. Each room has a microwave, and refrigerator. In addition, some guest rooms come with kitchenettes. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available. There is plenty of parking space for rigs and trailers. The hotel is located close to restaurants, shopping, scenic Lake Carlton and Robbers Cave State Park.
I was given a receipt for $158. It hit my bank for $174. I am having to deal with my bank for the difference. Some of the rooms only have basic cable. The other half have Netflix and 2 other tv options. This was a huge disappointment and we won’t be returning.

Clean, comfortable rooms with Micro, Fridge, Coffee maker, Free Wifi internet access, HBO, Sports, Entertainment and News channels, ample parking for trucks, bus,RV's,. Business center and Deluxe continental breakfast in the offing shortly. Near to Grove OK, site of Grand lake of the Cherokees, casinos, fishing, water tubing, boating, camping and other attractions. An ideal place for the budget conscious vacation traveller.
We stayed here for one night. The entire experience concerning the motel was pleasant. The reservation went smoothly. A good ole boy from NYC runs the place, and he is friendly and courteous. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a small fridge and microwave in our room. Everything in the room worked as it should. The Wi-Fi was reasonably fast, and the price was fair. There are restaurants nearby. This isn't the Four Seasons, but if you are looking for the Four Seasons in Jay, Oklahoma, you might have some issues a quiet stay in a motel like this could help you sort through. We would gladly stay there again.
