We had a great stay here during a cold and damp start to November. The weather was awful, but the welcome was warm and the room was very comfortable. We stayed in the La Remparts room which was large, elegantly furnished and warm and cosy. The bathroom has a nice shower, but no bath. No problem for us as that is what we prefer, but if you need a soak in a bath, maybe book another room. The breakfast is well organised and a good choice from the buffet. Dinner in the evening is excellent with a good choice of dishes, great service and a lovely restaurant. We'd recommend booking a table (particularly at weekends as it gets busy. There is a seperate guest lounge upstairs where you can make a cup of tea or coffee which is a nice facility. Bergues is an easy drive to Dunkirk and also not that far from Ypres, so it's a good base for exploring the area. Parking was easy as there is free parking in the street and the street is one way. We had a lovely time here and will certainly come back again.

I am currently staying at this hotel and could not have chosen a better hotel, from the location through to the service from the manager Valentin and staff. From the first phone call my husband made for the booking Valentin was excellent with customer service, on arrival the hotel was much better than the pictures we had seen, it is immaculate and smells beautiful as soon as you open the main door, bedrooms were truly amazing, all with their own unique style, we asked to be moved rooms as we were on the top floor and due to having asthma I was finding it difficult to walk up the stairs, straight away Valentin gave us a room on the first floor, this was as amazing as the duplex. Nothing was too much, Valentin was even there with advice on what to do, as well as directions for us to travel by train to Paris before leaving on Tuesday. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay in, it is one of the best we have ever stayed in.

We popped over to France for the night, chose Dunkirk as a new place to visit, stayed at Hotel Merveilleux which is right on the beach front. A super hotel, newly developed. Very nice bedrooms, extremely helpful staff. They have a nice bar an offer an excellent breakfast. They have limited car parking which is very useful.

Enjoy the charm of Flanders, in a green setting where serenity and rest feed on the authenticity of the place.Alain and Anne-Marie de Lattre provide you with 4 independent cottages, and two cottages with their own private entrance. They are the true craftsmen of your well-being, and will reveal the secret charms of the Flemish countryside.
The cons. It's 10 minutes drive from the nearest town. The on site restaurant isn't open every day. The room isn't made up so, no fresh towels, no replenishment of coffee, tea, milk or sugar in the room, etc. Facilities listed are in a communal area, there's no TV in the room. The pros. Comparitively cheap, quiet, owners friendly and accommodating. Can take own food to cook in communal kitchen area or take in takaway. Pots and pans, crockery glasses etc available. Clean. Staying 2 nights was enough.

This hotel is in a great location by the harbour and very close to the centre. I have stayed there on several occasions because of the ideal location. Unfortunately, the hosts are often absent so the room key is obtained through a key collection system on site. This sometimes does not work, so it will necessitate a call to the host. This means also that there is no one to help with any luggage and there is no lift so I would not recommend for anyone who is disabled or has back problems. Meals are pretty much as described in the menu and there are no extras such as vegetables or salad served with the main course. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and opens for evening meals on Thursday, Friday, Saturday only. The host is generally less than welcoming.

L'Escale malouine is located at about 350m from the Beach, the swimming pool and the kursaal. Each bedroom has got an own private bathroom (with shower and toilets).
We booked the entire house for the weekend (11 persons). The house seemed almost spotless, was really tidy and was spaceous enough as well. The lady of the house was kind and welcoming. The rooms are big, tidy and each has its own bathroom which was great if you are a group of 11. Each had a TV as well. Also, the rooms could be made dark almost completely with the shutters and the bed we had was truly comfy, felt fresh and smelled nice. So I had 2 great nights of sleep. If you book the entire house, it really comes with all you might need: fridge, dish washers, washing machines and enough cutlery, plates and so on. There's Wi-Fi in the entire house. For our annual family weekend it was a really pleasant stay; we had a great time.

most disgraceful, disgusting and Dirty place to ever stay in. Rooms stink of cigarettes bedding is full of hair and other stains of god knows what, constant inappropriate noises throughout the night on par with the “working men” that use the hotel to facilitate there needs. Toilets are portaloos that don’t flush and with paper thinner than a strain of hair, couldn’t bring myself to eat breakfast nor look in the showers as I believe they would have been just as disgusting as the rest of the “hotel” Honestly avoid at all cost unless it is completely urgent to stay in this brothel.
