A family-run hotel in the heart of Middelburg. We try to stand out through quality and service, with a personal touch.
We had a lovely stay here - the rooms were very comfortable and clean with a great bathroom. We received such a warm and friendly welcome from the owner who was super helpful. The secure bike storage is also a huge plus (with power sockets if you need charging)!

This former doctor's house is in the Koepoortstraat in the old historic centre of the city of Middelburg.'t Poorthuys has been completly renovated in 2013 into a luxurious and charming Bed & Breakfast. All sights, numerous restaurants and bars are within walking distance (Middelburg was chosen as one of the three most amiable cities of the Netherlands) and then return to the tranquillity, the luxury and comfort of B&B 't Poorthuys! This unique place in the heart of Middelburg is the perfect location to visit the city sights and the rest of Walcheren. But also great for a romantic and culinary weekend.
Excellent location, lovely rooms, friendly staff, wonderful breakfast in gorgeous breakfast room. Delightful walled garden in which it is a pleasure to have a cold drink, in the sun. Can’t guarantee the sun, but the proprietor was optimistic, so we share that optimism with all!!

We stayed here two nights around New Year’s Eve. Where to begin? The room we had (“woonkamer”) was an eclectic mix of modern luxury and elegant vintage furniture, hard wood floors, the charm of an old little house but with all modern comfort. Staff very thoughtful and went out of their way to make everything perfect. Spark clean everywhere! St Johns right below for breakfast is a charming warm cosy all-day coffee and lunch place. Very hospitable place, also our (large) dog was most welcome. I would have loved to stay longer, it was a fantastic B&B and would definitely recommend highly! Coming back!

The hotel was fantastic, We really had a wonderful stay and enjoyed it a lot. The room was really pretty and comfortable. The bed was amazingly comfortable! We also enjoyed the breakfast-quality of the food was great. We definitely prefer to have a smaller choice of dishes but having good quality/ healthy food and super tasty flavors. We stayed for 2 nights but we thought that we would not get bored of this breakfast even if we stayed longer. Location was also good, a short walk to the town center, big supermarket close by (still very quiet and peaceful). Parking was also just next door so it was easy to arrive by car. We are 100% happy with our choice of the hotel.

Boutique Hotel Eleanor has fourteen luxurious suites and hotel rooms named after an iconic first lady. Authentic elements, quirky details and contemporary products are mixed into an eclectic design. Beautiful fabrics, lavish wallpaper with floral prints and rich colors have been used in the interior. The rooms have comfortable Auping box-spring beds with crisp white linen. The open bathrooms have spacious rain showers with fragrant shower products. The XL suites have extra large bathrooms with a bathtub. There are also special rooms suitable for families or groups.
Our son needed to go in quarantine at home until the day of our arrival 5 days later. So we unfortunately had to cancel or move our stay at this hotel. The hotel did not want to negotiate about moving our stay to a later date and charged us the full cancellation amount (50%). I would have expected more understanding for our unfortunate situation. When we do visit Middelburg in the future we will make sure to not stay at this hotel.

We first stayed at Het Princenjagt in September 2008, and were so impressed with its location and the friendliness of the welcome, we were determined to return. We stayed again in late May 2013 with some friends, and were not disappointed - Marleen goes out of her way to make all guests feel very welcome. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean - rooms 3 and 4 are at the front on the first floor and offer a great view of the canal harbour. Breakfast is a simple meal - a variety of breads, conserves, meats and cheeses with a boiled egg (if desired). Location-wise, there is easy access to Middelburg centre via a 10 minute stroll along the Dam, and Marleen has negotiated a 10% discount for meals taken at two nearby restaurants. The only negative is that daytime free car-parking is a little way from the hotel - be prepared for a 5-minute walk (but at least it's flat!)

We stayed at Bed & Breakfast Adrichem en Scherpenseel . Situated in a charming & well located area of Middelburg, NL (almost under the Lange Jan ^_^). We had great communication with the two hostesses and both of them (Annemieke and Els) were very accomodating to our needs. The room was adorable (beautiful style with great decor accents), bed was very comfortable & everything was super clean. There is also a roof terras above with an awesome view of the Lange Jan. My husband and I went there to take some pictures of the Lange Jan. ^_^ We loved the museum nearby which was recommended by our friendly host, Els. Speaking about Els... she served us a delicious breakfast (delicous homemade jelly and plenty vegetarian options) and her attention to details is amazing. Els And Anne also have two very well behaved and cute dogs called Jip and Puck. They are so loving that by the end of your stay you feel like they are part of your family. I would definitely recommend this B&B

We booked the split level rooms so we had a kitchenette, bedroom, sitting room with dining and a terrace. We found it quirky (beware of the stairs, not for the faint hearted) and since we had booked 6 days, soon became familiar with the place. On request, they do change the linen and tidy up for a long stay like ours. The host runs his own restaurant (pricey but probably worth it) so if you order breakfast, he needs 2/3 days' notice. Breakfast is meticulously prepared and there is a fuss about how it is presented-orange juice is freshly squeezed and the jam and breads appeared to have been home prepared as well. We loved it. Kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes and all and we could cook meals and sit together as a family. Nice broad windows but summer time, I would ask for an extra fan. it is a barn conversion so beware the beams. Otherwise so middle of town that all shopping is walking distance.
