Think you need an ocean for a beach? Think again. There are miles and miles of sandy lakefront beaches in Michigan (thanks to the four Great Lakes that border it). The west coast of Michigan has especially nice beaches—try a rental in Muskegon, Grand Haven or Saugatuck. You won’t need a car when visiting Mackinac Island. In fact, they’re not allowed—this lovely Victorian resort town is pedestrian-only.

The Stafford was clean, hospitable and a charming home away from home. The staff was welcoming and very responsive to my needs. They went out of their way to help me find places to visit based on my interests. Breakfasts were huge, lots of choices and were excellent.

West Michigan's very own Mini Versailles located in Saugatuck, Michigan. This Frank Lloyd Wright architecture inspired mansion boasts 10 beautifully appointed guest rooms and a fine dine restaurant sitting on over 5 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.Enjoy the intimacy of a Bed & Breakfast while feeling the sophistication for a European style boutique Inn. You won't feel like you are in some ma & pa home here. Breakfast is served in our formal dining room at your own table! The Belvedere Inn has found the perfect balance between a B&B and Boutique Inn!
After reading all the great reviews I had big expectations for this hotel. And I was not disappointed. Sean is from Ireland, and I feel that only a European could create such an experience (I've only experienced this high a level of service and elegance in Europe). It was such a treat - and the dinner was the best dinner I've ever experienced in my life! Amazing. I must say though that a 109-year-old building is not going to have a great heating/cooling system (since there was none back then, and it's difficult to retrofit the architecture for it), so while the room temperature was moderate, and comfortable enough, you're not going to be able to simply select a temp in your room control pad as you would in modern hotels ... and there are a few other aspects of a structure that old, such as very creaky floors - so you have to accept a little bit of that ... and the overall awesome ambience and staff attention-to-detail and friendliness more than makes of for that - and in some ways these old idiosyncrasies even add to the charm of the place and make it an even more memorable and awesome experience. How many hotel stays do you remember? This is one very positive one you shan't forget.

The year was 1867, an era of horse-drawn carriages and ladies in bustles. Blacksmiths were crafting horse shoes in glowing forges. During this height of Victorian culture, the Inn on Mackinac was built. Known then as Chateau Beaumont in memory of the famous Army surgeon at Fort Mackinac, the Inn on Mackinac has retained its quaint, old fashioned charm. The Inn’s facilities have been updated to meet the needs of the modern traveler while preserving its colorful history. Today, completely remodeled and redecorated, this beautiful Victorian Inn opens its doors, where the very special charm of our family-run Inn awaits you.
Please be advised how unhappy we are! We reserved a room in January, 2022 and looked forward to returning to the Inn we enjoyed so much last summer. Unfortunately, on May 25 I was advised that I need hepatobillary oncology surgery. I immediately emailed the Inn on Mackinac only to be treated god awfully by Krystan the GM. We were to arrive June 7…that is the day of my surgery. She refused to cancel my reservation and said I was not eligible for a refund because my 14 day cancellation window closed May 24 at 11:00pm. No regard for my health, surgery and well being. They STOLE my $1,800 and said tough luck! Such a negative mark on your beautiful island.

What a wonderful weekend stay! This is in my top 5 B&B experiences. The house is large with great common areas to relax in. The room we stayed in Princess Cecile was large and well furnished. The breakfasts were the highlight, served in buffet style but not generic buffet food. We enjoyed this style as we could select the items we wanted to eat and not waste food. The hosts were very welcoming and we enjoyed good conversation with them!

Enchanting Historic Queen Anne Victorian in the heart of Southwest Michigan amid Fruit Orchards, Wineries and breathtaking countryside. Located in the center of it all, with so much to see and do year-round in nearby Saugatuck, Holland and South Haven.Voted Top 12 Inn Worldwide, Best Breakfast in the U.S. and Best Innkeeper in the U.S.
We spent three nights at this wonderful B&B. Delightful guests and a well informed owner made it all the more special. Quiet and relaxing in the Jonathan Room (all named after apples) Chuck and Sally provided a wonderful breakfast each morning. Coffee and tea available 24 hours. Chuck had some terrific recommendations for dinner and places to see. Holland is only 17 minutes away with a lovely country drive. Will plan to stay here again.

The historical Monroe Manor was built in 1884 by CJ Monroe, his father JR Monroe founded the city of South Haven in 1833, making this Manor one of the most historical buildings of South Haven.
I have been going to South Haven on short trips on and off for many years. Many times it's been a day trip. This summer I stayed at a B&B right near the lake and it was nice. I called there in October and the owner said that he had closed for the season. I looked online and found Monroe Manor Inn Bed & Breakfast. I spoke to the owner, Rashid, and he was very accommodating from the first conversation. He gave me a good price. I stayed one night and I wish that I could have stayed longer. The place is absolutely wonderful. The master suite was beautiful. My friend came for the day from Kalamazoo, and Rashid said that she could have breakfast with me at no charge. The breakfast was great. The location is off the beaten path and very countryish, just what one could want living in the heart of Chicago. It's only a few minutes ride from the heart of town and the lake. I have been to other B&Bs in South Haven, and this one is by far the best. I can't wait to go back!!

First, the good. The hotel is located right on the beach. The hotel front desk sent several texts to ensure we liked the hotel. Now, the bad. One fly and two crawling bugs found in the bathroom the first morning. The rooms do not have carpeting and we had a ground floor room. There is no soundproofing between the room above and the room below, so we heard every step that was taken by the guest in the room above us. I heard what sounded like the room above was checking out based on the noise level - but it was 2am. The breakfast order from confused the couples in both rooms we rented, so we got 2 of the same breakfast for both couples in each room. When the front desk texted the next day how I would rate the hotel, I was honest in my appraisal. I told them about the noise, the bugs, and the mistaken breakfast order. Their reply was "Sorry" and "We appreciate your feedback and your concerns will be taken into consideration". You would think they would have at least offered to correct the breakfast order that we would get the next day (again, 2 of the same item instead of what we wanted to order). For the money spent, will NOT stay here again.

The Brentwood Motor Inn is a clean and cozy 41-unit, 2-story motel in Marquette, Michigan. The motel is located on US Highway 41 West and is within close proximity to restaurants, businesses, the hospital and Northern Michigan University.
My husband and I have stayed at the Brentwood for years, and always had a positive experience. Until now. I was given the dingiest room--the carpet was dirty, the shower curtain was DISGUSTING, and the chair was so old and dirty and looked like an accordion the cushion was so caved in. What happened?
