Overlooked by many tourists, Meknes is a bustling modern city of nearly a million in northern Morocco, about 80 miles inland from the capital of Rabat. Local hero Moulay Ismail made Meknes Morocco's hub at the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th centuries, and his mausoleum is one of the city's main attractions. The Museum of Moroccan Art (housing fascinating jewels and artifacts) and Bab Mansour (the largest and most stunning of the city's gates) are other Meknes sights not to be missed.

I stayed at Riad Zayna for about 2.5 months this spring and absolutely loved it! It’s a beautiful riad and Omar is a very responsive and helpful host. It’s also a very convenient location. I highly recommend Riad Zayna to anyone visiting Meknes!

The Riad el Ma guest house is located in the heart of the historic city center, a few steps away from the town’s most famous monuments such as the beautiful Bab Mansour gate and the Bouinania Medersa. In the delicious atmosphere created by running water and foutains, you can relax in a fully renovated “Riad”, a traditional moroccan mansion built around an open courtyard.
We've felt like princesses in riad El Ma, the setting is wonderful, very nice courtyard and beautiful building. Amina took great care of us, helping finding the best restaurant nearby, organising visits and transfers. We highly recommend!

Ideally located in the district of lalla Aouda (approachable by car parking in front) at two minutes away from the place of El Heddim. It is next door of Bab Mansour and Kobt Souk, the breath taking view of the old Medina, as well as Royal Golf of Meknes. Pass the entry; you discover a beautiful patio with its water basin, 2 suites and 8 rooms are shelled marvellously well in this place, Benefiting each one from a refined decoration, the rooms are soundproof, air-conditioned, equipped with satellite television, telephone and Wi-Fi access.
As another reviewer noted, our stay also was probably impacted by how few people were staying in the Riad. Our room was very comfortable-not modern, but we like that. Breakfast was serviceable but not memorable. Again it was in a great location. The rooftop terrace was beautiful.

Wonderful Riad in the Medina of Meknes, which is beautifully decorated. The authentic ambiance is filled with family artefacts that span over 4 generations. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable, and elegantly furnished. There is an incredible rooftop filled with beautiful plants, which was a perfect place to watch the sunset over the panoramic view. Bouchra and Abdel, the owners, were very friendly and kind. I was fortunate to have a tour of the medina with Bouchra. She later made a delicious tagine dinner. Breakfast was alo quite yummy. It was so wonderful that I hope to return, not just as a stop over, but to take time to enjoy the peace and serentiy of the Riad. Thank you to Najib Kziou @Najibtours for including this Riad as part of the tour.

Delightful breakfasts, nice rooms - we had one with a sitting room that had couches and was so comfy. Loved the rooftop terrace including cushiony lounge chairs overlooking the city. Staff helped us find drivers for our junkets to nearby Volubilis and Ifrane. Delightful breakfasts, nice rooms - we had one with a sitting room that had couches and was so comfy. Riad Lahboul is a traditional Moroccan guest house, beautifully restored in the elegant Andalusia style of hand made mosaics. Ideally situated on the edge of the Medina, the Lahboul area has both the atmosphere of the medina as well as its own architectural style and lovely botanical gardens. All the bedrooms are en suite and combine traditional Moroccan style with modern facilities providing atmosphere and a high standard of comfort with European facilities.
We stayed here one night and had the place to ourselves. Staff were accommodating, friendly, available, and most helpful: they welcomed us with mint tea, cookies, and a solid briefing on what to see, and on check-out they helped us carry our bags to a taxi. The downstairs welcome area of the riad was quite pretty (although dark), the terrace upstairs was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was good. However, as other reviews have mentioned, some parts of the riad looked more worn out, and it does show that the owners hadn't been onsite as much. Some of the fixtures and the bathrooms in particular could use some updating, although everything was clean. It was also nice to explore Meknes after the hustle and bustle of Fes, and we went to a couple of nice family-run restaurants nearby too. Breakfast was excellent as well and in beautiful surroundings, and check-out was a breeze. Overall, while some aspects of the riad could be made better with more attention, we felt welcomed and this was a good place to stay for a night.

Riad yamcha is a magnificent five bed riad ideally located in the heart of meknes medina near the door bab jdid at the entrance to the craftsmen in wrought iron district and at the gates of the souks on the ground floor is a large atrium planted whith orange trees and featuring a small pond the terrace offers a wonderful 360° view of meknes it consists of a sunbathing area with six sunbeds
First is the dedication of the staff. Doudou who manages the place goes far beyond what you would expect from a host. She walks all the way to the parking to take you to the Riad and the day we left she ran after us to return a forgotten telephone cable. Karima and Afaf prepare succulent meals served in a grandiose dining room. This old riad has been fully renovated with great taste and is very comfortable.

We choose this hotel on our trip across Morocco. Hidden in crooked streets of old town Meknes like small pearl under the see. Behind massive wooden doors is cozy atrium in natural architecture. Few hotel rooms gives enough comfort and privacy. Most of all, is rooftop terrace with outlook over the old town. We also have booked dinner and breakfast. Dinner was chicken with sweet onions and couscous, very tasty.

Our guest house is located at the entrance to the medina of Meknes, 150 m from the famous Bab Mansour. We welcome you in a frame or the zen is the slogan of the owners and staff. The panoramic terraces allow you to enjoy an exceptional overview of the medina, take your breakfast and relax you at any time of the day after your individual visits to our beautiful city and its surroundings. 6 rooms, all air conditioned and equipped with a private bathroom will be your cocoon during your stay. 2 interior patios, indoor pool, massage room reflect the oriental wellness. Dinner, our cook will cook you elaborate meals with fresh ingredients bought on the same day and can make you share his passion spices. Our more: we are not a restaurant, only our residents can share these moments of conviviality. Riad Safir is classified charming house in Morocco.
Riad Safir is a surprising riad in Meknes. It has a more modern part connected to a very traditional part. We had one room in the modern part (comfort room). It was a bit on the small side (especially because of a third bed placed in the room), but cosy and nice. The mattresses were a bit too firm for us.The bathroom only had a bathtub. A shower would be more comfortable. The room in the traditional part (superior room) was beautiful and spacious with a big and beautiful bathroom. Very nicely decorated. The rooftop area is big with several cosy terraces. They don't serve drinks, but you can make use of the fridge in the kitchen for your own drinks (also alcohol). Breakfast was really extensive and varied. The staff was rather formal but very professional and kind. It has a quiet location, but a minute walk from the action in Meknes. Absolutely recommended!
