Hotel close to the entrance of the historical centre of valderobres. The room was clean but basic. Very good breakfast and friendly service. I would perhaps recommend to make the rooms a little bit more modern.

The former home of Mendizabal, the sixteenth century, we have converted into a small and charming boutique hotel.Located in Valjunquera in the Shire of Matarraña few kilometers away from Alcaniz Aragon Motorland.
We booked the hotel for a romantic weekend and indeed it was a calm and relaxing couple of days but very active as well. The whole area (Matarraña region) is beautiful and worth spending some time exploring (Car/bycicle/hiking). Ideal for a summer holiday where you want to be slightly active. Superb food, especially for meat lovers (plenty of it!) but even for vegetarians (we are) you have good options. The hotel itself is quaint, comfy and cute. The owners (Jose and Jorge) are fantastic and always willing to help and give you the best service. It's incredibly quiet (apart from the bells chiming we could not hear anything!) and a great place to sleep. Rooms have a bathtub so even if you get back and you are really cold, you can always dip in. You also have a proper fireplace on the 1st floor. Great tast, comfort and service. Highly recommendable!!!!

The hotel bar and restaurant , the Virgen of the spring, can be found within the greater complex of the Sanctuary of Virgen of the spring. The complex consists of a 14th century gothic hermitage alongside a guest house with a porticoed central patio and a Baroque hermitage dating from the end of the 17th century. Surrounded by gardens and the river Tastavins this is a spectacular site. The Gothic hermitage was declared a national monument in 1931and contains a mudejar ceiling which was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
We had lunch in this delightful hotel/restaurant/converted convent on a holiday in this lovely region of Spain. The three course menu of the day was €18 a head and was brilliant value for money. We started with delicious cured salmon and a regional tomato dish. This was followed by barbecued pork and fish for me. Pudding were two of the house specialities - a Russian cake and a type of flan. Overall the food was fantastic and all set in the glorious surroundings of this peaceful and beautifully decorated hotel. Service was exquisite and an English speaker was assigned to us to help with translation. Including a lovely bottle of Rose and coffees the bill came to €56 so was a very reasonably priced way to have a delicious lunch in a very stylish and unusual location. After lunch we strolled through the convent and visited the chapel and the lovely stream behind it. Very much one to be recommended.

Small ecological Hotel with 4 suites including shower, bedroom, living room and private terrace with views over the mountains. Main rooms are constructed from straw bales with a wooden supporting structure and all woods are certified Forest Steward Council, green roof and geothermal heating and cooling. All paints and plasters are natural and no chemical glues or solvents have been used. We provide sustainable living without compromising on a luxurious level of comfort
We booked this hotel for an overnight stay based on the good Tripadvisor reviews - we must have missed something. The whole place felt tired and run down - definitely not total luxury as advertised. Rooms were on the small side (tiny bathroom). Nigel, however, was accommodating and helpful and breakfast was quite good.

This labour of love was truly a wonder to see. The couple who run the observatory feed the vultures everyday which was started years ago to save the culture population from dying out. Small groups can go to see the feeding at 9.30am which makes it a unique and personal experience. Nothing prepares you for the swarm of vultures who come to feed like clockwork and wait patiently for breakfast. Well worth a visit and support this local initiative.

difficult to get in as no door bell, had to phone owner and muddle through with poor spanish! but were made to feel very welcome, had booked room on top floor so quiet and good bedroom. Had dinner bed and breakfast for not much more than £50. Dinner included wine and 3 courses, fantastic food, cant fault the place. Wonderful town, parked on side street but we knew from booking there was no parking.

The House of Sebastian, is an accommodation located in the heart of Old Valderrobres in scenic Matarraña within the province of Teruel. In front of this magnificent home, you will meet Ana, which is keeping you inside of time, down to the last detail. Also its friendliness makes the customer feel at home, in an environment where there is no hurry. Surrounded by medieval details, with its squares, cobblestone streets, and the combination of the castle church XIII and XVI century, make a site all about mágico.Si add, that as a backdrop are the ports de Tortosa-beceite, the sites marsh Pena, and all the charming villages of the surrounding area as well as being land of precious oil, wine, good fruit and sweets, all combined, make La Casa de Sebastián an idyllic destination
Wish I could give more stars. Very well appointed and clean. The hosts went out of their way to help when we had a medical issue, including serving us chicken soup at no charge when we felt unwell. Such a warm caring family. Loved it!,,

Aislamiento acústico/ruido: 1/5 Desayuno: 4/5 Cama: 5/5 Bañera/Ducha: 2/5 Trato: 5/5 Wifi/internet: 4/5 It's an attractive small restaurant-hotel, which looks as if it was refurbished not all that long ago. The bed was comfortable; the mattress seemed to be viscoelastic. The wifi vanished on the first night but worked well once it had been restored. It had A/C and a mosquito screen in the bedroom (room 6). The bathroom was attractively decorated and the shower spacious, but with some absurd defects: the shower door opened outwards, preventing you from reaching the towels and wetting the floor; the shower wasn't adjustable, so you had to stand right next to the wall, nullifying the benefit of a wide shower. Also: the bathroom door couldn't be closed from the inside; the toilet seat cover made a horrible squeaking noise; you could see daylight under two of the bathroom windows; on the first day the toilet blocked and it couldn't be flushed (it was fixed the next day). It looked like a good refurbishment badly implemented by someone's cousin's brother. And the worst thing of all: the intolerable noise from other rooms because of the total lack of acoustic insulation. You could hear the following clearly from other rooms: the shower, the TV, streams of pee, steps, all the water moving through the pipes, especially when the toilet was flushed, as well as all the noise from the passageway as if the other guests were in the room with you. Instead of putting up notices about moderating the TV volume, they should install some decent insulation, especially in the columns, which transmit lots of sound. At night there is usually silence, provided the other guests have gone to sleep, but at 8:30 one morning there was an additional delight: a seafood van which played irritating folk music at ear-splitting volume before loudly announcing its wares. The TV was tiny but had USB and HDMI; however, don't try to use the subtitle function unless you can read at 20 words/second. The owner was very friendly and the breakfast pretty good (with a menu of options); better still, you can have breakfast and dinner in a pleasant patio/garden at the back, which is useful in the current pandemic. Soundproofing: 1/5 Breakfast: 4/5 Bed: 5/5 Bath/shower: 2/5 Friendliness: 5/5 Wifi/internet: 4/5
