This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the former capital of Laos, and you'll see everything from golden-roofed temples to vestiges of colonial French architecture here. Buddhist monasteries abound in Luang Prabang, and early every morning, monks process through the streets collecting alms (their food for the day). If you want to watch or participate, though, ask your hotel for a brief etiquette lesson first—you have to distribute the food in a specific manner.

The guest house is wonderful and an easy shuttle to main part of Luang Prabang. Perfect place to start a Laos holiday, beautiful room and river view. The owners were friendly and so helpful with bookings for day trips and onward journey. If you want somewhere out of the main tourist area, this is for you. We used the shuttle service but there are bicicyles available. We were in Laos before the lockdown and major travel restrictions came into force. felt safe.

Villa CHITDARA is a new refined family guesthouse located in the heart of the old district Luang Prabang. You will not find a more central place to enjoy your stay here. All the staff will be very glad to welcome you at VILLA CHITDARA.
Stayed for 4 nights in February, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and bathroom clean, a good shower and complimentary toiletries. The breakfasts were good with a reasonable variety of food to meet all tastes. I especially recommend the banana bread. Staff were unobtrusive but friendly and helpful .well situated within walking distance of the Mekong and main sites. A pleasant ,relaxing stay. Loved enjoying some quiet time on the balcony overlooking the garden would certainly stay again.

Nestled in a peaceful garden, leading down to an uninterrupted view of the Nam Khan river, My Dream is an oasis of tranquility, just minutes from Luang Prabang's bustling town centre. Rooms and furnishings of natural woods and woven Lao fabrics blend seamlessly into lush surroundings. Sunshine streams through floor-to-ceiling glass doors, which open out to private balconies. You may choose a room in Sala, Chandara, or Latsana, or select your own bungalow – or bungalow suite. All are light, airy, and a reflection of Lao culture and design.
We stayed for 3 nights in a pool villa. The villa itself was beautifully and tastefully decorated. The high ceilings and trees made the rooms relatively cool and shaded during the peak of the hot month. Our villa was huge with a separate eating area and a beautiful large bathroom and a fantastic bath tub with a view of our private pool. The bed was very comfortable and wifi was easy to connect and fast. Our pool was beautifully set in the garden and remained mostly shaded even during the middle of the day. The only issue we had with the pool was that it was cloudy (perhaps it was due to the rains) but during the new year holidays, no one came to clean it... Maybe understandable. We were only able to jump in on our last day though the water was still pretty cloudy. Other than the rooms, the setting is great... Lots of fresh air in a more local area. The breakfast could be better but given the price we paid for the rooms, anything additional is simply a bonus.

Find charm and style in this professionally and family run hotel. Located 15 minutes walking from the night market, in a small cobbled street overlooking the Nam Khan River, Stylish details, artwork from Passa Paa studio, wooden crates as furniture. As much as possible, we buy and consume locally and we have care about the environmental issues in LPB. We stayed at the Cold River for 5 nights and for us it was the perfect place to stay in Luang Prabang. Far enough away from the absolute center to be quiet, but still close enough to reach most places in the center in 10 minutes by foot. We really liked the style of the hotel, all made out of wood and looking very authentic, plus their approach to avoid plastic waste (free refillable water etc). Staff is really nice too and gives great recommendations with regards to restaurants/trips etc. Very recommendable!!

Manichan Guesthouse is a Colonial style house (once a hospital) in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage section of Luang Prabang. Lovely garden and balcony where you can relax and swap stories with fellow guests. We are just 30 meters from the Mekong River and morning market and 130 meters from the Royal Palace Museum and Night Market. Famous breakfast and lots of helpful advice. It's our goal to make your stay relaxing and stress free.
My partner and I walked in and were lucky enough to get a room. It’s in a wonderful old house with lovely wooden floors. We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and Andy was very helpful when we had to sort some things in town. It very much felt like staying in someone’s home. The location is nestled between the northing market and the Mekong! The highlight in Breakfast! Theres great cafes and restaurants in town but great to have a good breakfast at the start of the day. Homemade jam, good bread, homemade yogurt plus a hot option. Plus good coffee and great selections of tea!

I’ve been here 4 times and spent a lot of time travelling through Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. This is the best place I have stayed. Great facilities, everything in the room works! A strong hot shower and everything is spotless. The owner, Khamphone is really helpful and his staff very professional. The guesthouse is only 5 mins walk to the main street but so quiet! I will be back!

I came to this place because of the recommendations here, but reality was far away. I should mention that I have been in several guesthouses in Luang Prabang over the years and certainly this was one of them that don’t worth the price. Bed was not good. The owner is not there- and you feel it. There was one guy who gave no service or help and was busy all the time seeing movies in his phone . When I asked him about things he answered: this is what the owner told me to say or do.
