Situated on the Dutch border, Limburg is the easternmost province in Flanders, and the foremost fruit-growing region in the country. The lively, friendly market town of Hasselt is the provincial capital. It boasts a car-free historic center, with building dating back as far as the 11th century. Genk is another recommended stop. The city of 63,000 people is home to a zoo, a planetarium, De Maten nature reserve and Bokrijk, an open-air museum of 19th century Flemish architecture.

We arrived on our bikes while following the Maas (Meuse) river north. There is a special shed for bike storage and there was enough room for our bikes. We were offered free refreshments and took advantage of that! We were exhausted and thirsty. We were shown to our upstairs rooms which were large, clean, airy and comfortable. It all looked very new. The oak trim and staircase showed skill and care. I think the owner built this himself. He was pretty proud when we complimented him on the workmanship we saw. We had reserved a few days in advance and were glad we had, the place was packed. Dinner was excellent - the plates came packed with food. Everything was well prepared and as we had ordered. Couldn't ask for more. While the B&B - restaurant is just off the road, the rooms are in the back and there was no noise to disturb our sleep. Breakfast the next morning was a huge buffet with eggs cooked to order. Good thing, too. We had another long day of biking in front of us and needed all the energy we could get! Before leaving this review, I want to say that our hosts were kind and generous - just the type of people you'd like to meet. We enjoyed ourselves and would stop over here any time.

De Dubbelmolen offers 5 charming suites situated in an historic watermill. All rooms have a private bathroom, a sitting corner with flatscreen TV and view to the river or the garden. Our B&B is directly located at LF6 bicycle route and no more then 5 kilometers from Tongeren centre. The castles of Genoelselderen and Alden Biezen are close by. Great for nature walks. Ideal to relax, the russling sound of the river is soothing. All our rooms are spacious and individually decorated. There is an enclosed garage for bicycles and private parking space, free WIFI. Our guests can enjoy our abundant breakfast buffet in our breakfast room or in summer at our garden terrace. There is a lovely green private garden bordering the river. A play corner for our little ones. Ideal for tourists wishing to explore the eldest city of Belgium, Tongeren. Maastricht and Luik are a mere 15 kilometers away, we are in the so called three lands corner. We have special conditions for the business man. Lunch packets available on request. Pets are welcome.
This guest house is beautiful. It has charm and character and the river and garden are also lovely. The room was immaculately clean and you can tell the owners put alot of hard work I to making it what it is. The breakfast was really good and well presented with a good variety. We only stayed one night as we were travelling through but we would definately come back and spend longer here.

Some hotels are just right and can still surprise you in different ways. The biggest surprise was that we ended up in one bedroom of a large two-bedroom suite (B10) including huge living room, microwave and fridge. Slightly too modern touch lighting controls (meaning: we couldn't really be bothered to work out precisely how the high tech worked, but played with it a bit which was OK). They had economised by not bothering to fit the sink to the water connections in the WC (after all, there were two in the bathroom immediately adjacent I suppose the reasoning went). Good bath and shower, toiletries a bit minimal. Beds very comfortable. Stairs to first floor room. Quiet. Overall room exceeded expectations. Buffet breakfast (plenty of bread/cheese/ham/yoghurt/fruit/coffee/tea etc.), no evening restaurant - but there are two great fairly upmarket choices within a two minute walk (really, but book in advance) and plenty more within 2 km. But drinks are available - great for sitting on the central terrace. Hotel service a little eccentric, which we liked ! Parking easy in hotel grounds and in village if that's full. Immediate surroundings are OK (there are walks along the Maas, canoeing too) and prettier places aplenty within a short drive. To be recommended for short stopover and also as the base for a longer stay provided immediate hotel surrounds aren't a top priority for you.

Stayed for one night en route elsewhere. First class rooms with marvellous breakfast. Would need to drive a shortish distance to the town centre for a choice of restaurants but parking in the centre is easy. Very hospitable hosts.

The night in the hotel we really liked. The hotel lady greeted us very friendly and served us a good coffee with a delicious piece of apple pie on her beautiful terrace. Very good location for some bicycle tours as this location is part of route.nl . Friendly host , very nice to have a storage and re-charge location for our bikes. Spacious room and nice bathroom. Why not 5stars ? For 100 euro per night I expected at least a coffee machine in our room and some shower gel not only a piece of mini soap. Would go back here anyway ??

On my way to Zeeland I thought I needed a rest between Mainz and my holiday destination. T Goed Leven was beyond any expectation. A little quaint homestay carefully designed for a home away from home feeling. The owners Ronny and Ilse were very hospitable and their breakfast was elaborate. They served fresh croissants and bread rolls, fish, cured meat, ham, fruits and vegetables. This buffet is also suitable for diabetics. Ronny serves freshly made bacon and eggs and a great coffee. The house is 3 min walk from the Albert River connecting the major Belgian harbours Liege and Antwerp. I will definitely come back with my bike.
