Returned to spend 5 nights in the Boat Shed right on the waters of Lake Macquarie. Were very welcomed by Narelle, our hostess, who supplies a wonderful breakfast. We ate on the deck watching the bird life and enjoying the peace and quiet.

The staff are friendly but are unable to help us with any of our concerns. There was no tissues and no coat hangers in the room (they had to go and buy us coat hangers but they would NOT buy us tissues. They DO NOT provide you with fresh towels each day, the toilet seat was faulty, they would take our blankets from the room when we weren't there and wouldn't replace them. There is no telephone in the room to contact reception if you had any concerns and there was no reception so if you wanted to speak with reception, you had to leave your room and walk to reception each time. The restaurant food wasn't good value. The only good thing was its location - walking distance to the beach and caves. They do not provide breakfast and their gaming area is for smokers only which isn't suitable for the non smoking people. You were unable to completely close the curtain due to it being broken and hanging.

The Gateshead Tavern's Motel is located behind the pub and offers Quiet and Comfortable motel rooms from $89 per night. All rooms feature en-suites, air conditioning, Foxtel and car parking at the front door. Located a ten minute walk from Lake Macquarie private hospital and a short drive or bus ride from the brand new 88,000 sqm Charlestown Square shopping centre, magnificent Redhead Beach and Lake Macquarie. The accommodation is popular with people who are working in the area, have relatives attending Lake Macquarie Private Hospital or those looking for a short break to explore the Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie areas.
This hotel is the ideal location. It’s great value for money with plenty of food options around the area. The tavern at the front also has great meals. While the Gateshead is no palace, they offer simple older rooms at a great price. The also have an abundance of parking on site.

My husband, spoodle and myself enjoyed our 3 night stay. Serena is extremely friendly and accommodating. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. Location is fabulous, so close to many places to eat and beautiful walking track at Warners Bay. I hope we have the opportunity to stay again soon.

I stayed for two weeks in March/April 2022 whilst on business. The accommodation is excellent - clean, modern and comfortable. The shower room is properly equipped, spacious and of excellent quality. My room had a balcony, and although the view is not great, the balcony is still a restful place to chill. The desk, power points and good WiFi make Springs an excellent place for work when on business. The large, wall-mounted TV allows you to login on your Netflix or Amazon account and has a heap of other channels. Suzie at reception was helpful, friendly, welcoming and informative. Note that Uber drivers always need to be told the Motel entrance is on the 3rd floor of the car park or they'll wait in the street! There are several good eating spots/pubs/takeaways within short walking distance and Diggers (connected by a walkway) is also a good place to eat, I highly recommend Springs to business travellers.

We had the loveliest visit at Valley View. Dawn your hospitality was 100% and could not be faulted. We loved chatting to Bruce at Breakfast, you’re both lovely people. Our room was so very comfortable and clean, you could not ask for anything extra. Breakfast was amazing with lovely choices. Our little table was set beautifully, be sure to walk outside a look down the valley

Check in was very easy, and parking plentiful. I was shown around the beautiful property where there are choices of areas for eating (i jist got a takeaway so this was perfect), but there was a full kitchen, with the essentials and toast, fruit, yoghurt, cereals etc.. for breakfast with an array of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. My room was beautiful with everything i needed including a facility to log in to my own Netflix which was amazing. The cleanliness was next level. This place was sooooooo clean. I would definitely stay here again. It was great value and I felt like it was home from home!
