It is a good solution for leaving from here to reach very interesting destinations where enjoying artistic and naturalistic attractions. The rooms are nice, quite large and comfortable. The staff is kind and professional.

Our charming B&B is located in a tranquil, car-free, location with amazing views over Lake Como and the mountains beyond. All our rooms have views of Lake Como and all our balconies face directly towards the Como branch of the lake. We are located in the pretty mountain village of Molina in Faggeto Lario, just 8km from the centre of Como and 20km from the beating heart of Bellagio. This makes our romantic bed and breakfast the ideal starting point to discover the delights of Lake Como; all easily reachable by bus, car or even better, by boat. The bathrooms were modernised in 2020 with new tiles, shower units, sanitary ware and lighting. The rooms have been lovingly furnished over the years, creating a refined and cosy atmosphere. We have quiet areas in the garden and on the terrace where you can relax and unwind or take the opportunity to chill-out on your own private balcony if you book a Superior Double room. We recommend you stay at least 2 nights! Longer if you can; this really is a little piece of Italian paradise. We think we have the most relaxing, romantic Italian B&B you can find on Lake Como. Stunning views in a warm, cosy & romantic B&B

It is safe to say the whole of Lake Como is absolutely beautiful, but when you get further up into the hills and get to see the views from a balcony in this B&B it becomes simply breathtaking! Villa le Ortensie is absolutely charming. The staff are very warm and welcoming, you can tell they have a great knowledge of the surrounding area, and all its hidden gems, they even organised dinner for us at a local restaurant! The rooms where full of Italian charm. It was so peaceful and serene waking up to magnificent views, and they laid on a healthy, hearty breakfast in the morning ready for us to explore the lake. I couldn't recommend this place enough for a peaceful stay surrounded by the most stunning scenery imaginable!

The rooms, bar and the restaurant are in a great designed and build with a high quality and design related. I love the modern look of the rooms, lights and the very comfortable beds. There is enough storage space (what often a problem is, but not here). The bar and terrace is very nice, all service personal is absolutely friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly cleaned up. Very nice breakfast. Everything was perfect for us. And of course there is a parking place for every room, which is at this area really Luxus. We will definitely come back.

Quiet retreat near Lake Como

This place is in a house up the hill with great views of the lake and mountain. The breakfast room has a great balcony and amazing views. The breakfast is pretty much self-service so there is no pressure to move out. We found ourselves lingering on the balcony a lot. The B & B is newly updated. Clean, tiled, and modern. The owner lives two floors below. Perhaps the only drawback is that the area is so quiet you can hear barking dogs, people talking in the yard next door or movement in the building, but after 10 pm it is dead quiet. It's in a town up a hill so a car is required. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Horrible and unprofessional owner/manager (Mario)
Reviewed By greenzieThe owner or manager (Mario) is very unprofessional! We are a group of 3 adults and 1 child (11 years old). When booking on their website, we could only number of adults and number of kids below 2 years old. There is no option to add kids above 2 years old. I checked the price of a Quadruple room for 3 adults and 4 adults are the same price. But since I already filled in 3 adults, I just went on since I think it is not a big deal after all. I sent an email 3 weeks before my arrival to say there is actually one child extra in the booking and we would pay extra tourist tax if needed. He replied that there is an extra charge of 12 EUR for the child. I argued in the website it was the same price for 3 and even 4 adults so it doesn’t make sense to charge extra for 3 adults and 1 child. He could not explain it why and after several emails, he just canceled my booking without my approval! This is very unprofessional! I am attaching the emails between us so you can see how unprofessional Mario is.

Reviewed By Live_Yo_Best_LifeMy sister and I stayed at this BnB for 2 nights. It is a 25 min walk to the town of Bellagio and you can pass through the lovely Villa Melzi on the way. It is actually located in San Giovanni with the ferry conveniently just outside the hotel, from here you can easily explore the towns surrounding the lake. We arrived after 6pm on the first night, by which point the reception had closed. We had trouble finding a taxi, so I called the BnB for some advice and Laura very kindly came to pick us up. On the way to the hotel she told us about the area and suggested places we might like to visit. She also recommended the restaurant next door called Ittiturismo Mella (delicious and well priced!) and how it’s important to prebook. Once at the hotel, an envelope was left outside with my name. This had some instructions and our room key card. The room was very nice. It had A/C, a fridge, was spacious, very clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast the next morning was good; fruit, pastries, cereal and the option to make a sandwich or simply have some toast. We saw Laura again this morning at check out and she offered some valuable advice on getting back to Milan. We didn’t realise there was a direct train from Varenna! (We originally took trains to Saronno and then to Como, followed by the ferry to Bellagio). She provided us with a schedule of train times and was again a huge help. Thank you so much Laura! We look forward to visiting again. 100% recommend.

Lovely and friendly, perfect location
Reviewed By maya mI booked this hotel for a spontaneous stopover in Varenna Como having decided to stay because the staff were so friendly - it was clean and welcoming and perfectly located - just a couple of minutes’ walk from the train station and ferry - a great affordable base to explore Como. The photo I have taken is from the nearby lakefront - it is a 15 minute boat trip to beautiful Bellagio. Varenna itself is a lovely little local town with the lake less than a minute from the hotel. Thanks to Matteo and Ivan for the lovely service!
