This is the first time we have used this bed and breakfast, although my wife and I have been visiting this region for 20 years. We found their site on google, and after calling the owner, we decided to give the accommodation a try. First impressions on arrival are of a well presented and well kept property. We were greeted by the owner. Very professional and courteous. The reception area is clean and spacious. In the basement is the dining room, which is immaculately clean. Our room was on the 1st floor, with private bathroom, balcony, tv and air con. Large double bed. Room and bathroom cleaned every other day. Our small dog was accepted by the owner and his wife, and allowed to join us in the dining room. Owner asked us what would we like for breakfast during our stay. We had fresh ham, cheese and bread rolls. Selection of jams and cereals etc. All needs catered for. Excellent from start to finish. No negative points to report.

I received a windowless room when the confirmation was for a balcony room. The weird thing is that there is no picture of this windowless room in their profile. The biggest fear is someone might steal the remote control of the fan.

Podere San Francesco is a really nice place to spend a night in the beautiful area of the Bolsena lake. The hosts are great, bedrooms lovely and clean, the continental breakfast is what an Italian B&B can offer... all shop bought... but the coffee is strong which is a plus for me. Paco the house dog is friendly. There is no air conditioning though.. I'll recommend a fan at least... overall a great place to stay.

Hotel is centrally located within minutes walk to the shopping/restaurant area. Room was spacious and had a luxurious feel. Amenities were excellent and the balcony was facing the garden (with the mountain as the backdrop). Clean and comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend this hotel for couples or family.

The place has a great view but is truly basic and cheap. Very limited services and those offered with very lo fexibility offered by the host. The place is fully of cats and other animals but they do not accepts dogs. Breakfast offered only from 9 to 10, dinner from 20:00 to 21:00 fixed menu. Before ending the dinner, the host disappears and goes in the kitchen to have his own meal . There is a small swimming pool, access limited by number and hours, impossible to ask a drink . No emotions .

B&B Casale 1541 is situated in a strategic position in Bolsena, only a few hundred metres from the historical centre and the lake. It originates from the restoration of an ancient mill, based on the preservation of the historical peculiarities of the building and on the re-use of the materials present on the spot. The rooms are equipped with private bathrooms with a shower and free wi-fi.
From the welcome to the departure we could not fault anything. The rooms were comfortable client and lovely individually decorated. The bed was perfect and the personalised bed linen was a lovely WOW factor. The breakfast was copious and fresh with a large variety of biscuit and pastry, choice of cereals in a delightfully appointed. Definitely on my first choice if I return in the area.

I can only echo the enthusiastic reviews others have already written about this wonderful hotel. We stayed in the "Ametista" bedroom which was quite beautiful, with wonderful views over the rooftops of Montefiascone and the countryside beyond. It was lovely to see Viterbo winking to us at night in the distance, and the Monti Cimini in the background. Our room was bright, spacious, utterly peaceful, extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated with even a certain sense of luxury, without being over the top. The bathroom was wonderful for us, though I do think they could make life easier for the cleaning ladies by adding a door to the shower cubicle so that the water doesn't spill out! (it's closed on 3 sides, but open on one side which might suit some people). An independent heating system allowed us to manage the highly efficient heating according to our needs (we left it off in the daytime, but it was lovely to be able to have a warm cosy room within literally a couple of minutes on chilly April nights. We were grateful for the hotel's trust on this issue, since usually after April 15th, all heating is turned off in Italian hotels. We were also highly conscious of the current energy crisis, especially in the way it's impacting Italy, so we used the heating responsibly and appreciated being allowed to do so). We slept like babies in our very comfortable bed. It was also lovely to be able to take breakfast at our leisure in the Café next door to the hotel, with delicious fresh croissants, using the vouchers supplied to us by the hotel. For an extra 2€ (or perhaps even less - I know it was minimal) we also ordered fresh orange juice which was a treat. And for anyone looking for picnic supplies (for hiking down to Lake Bolsena, for example, a wonderful and overall easy walk, if long) the Café also makes excellent fresh sandwiches. The design and style of the hotel is unique! 1920's Art Deco, with modern touches. To crown everything, I cannot praise the staff highly enough, who were kind, friendly, and super-efficient. From the moment I made contact over the phone to our arrival at the train station in Montefiascone to find Alessandro from the hotel waiting for us with his own car, we felt incredibly well looked-after (the train station in Montefiascone is a few kilometres outside of town and it can be difficult to find transport, but the hotel do everything to ensure that this will not be a problem, they even called us on their own initiative the day before our arrival to say that Alessandro would meet us. What more can I say...). Alessandro was a fountain of information, was on hand for any questions, spoke fluent English and was kindness itself (as was Catiuscia, who unfortunately we did not get to meet but who was always available on the phone for any queries). Overall, a wonderful stay that definitely makes us want to come back!

We were a family group of 10 , in Italy for a family wedding. The hotel staff were very welcoming, even providing a delicious meal on our late arrival. The Hotel is old fashioned but spotlessly clean. Air conditioned bedrooms were welcome in temperatures over 35degrees. The restaurant has great sea food dishes. Breakfast is a varied buffet . The staff are friendly and helpful even printing our boarding cards on departure. Eating breakfast with a stunning view of the lake was a highlight. One note although shampoo and shower caps are provided the soap is not good for showering I would recommend bringing shower gel

This is a difficult review to write. We, as a family, were full of expectations for this location, mostly due to the good internet site of the agriturismo and the good advertisement. Since our arrival many things were different than expected though. There is also an entry on Trip Advisor for the restaurant section only. This review is focused on the B&B/Hotel part, with half-pension formula. Being this an agriturismo, you would expect more contact with nature. This was partially disappointed by the following factors: - There were only a few pigs and piglets in the parking lot, properly fenced - There were very few trees or plants for production of own products (the agriturismo did his own wine and oil though) - Very, very, and, I will stress it once again, very poor breakfast offer (see picture): the only self-made pastry was the very tiny piece of crostata. All the rest is flavorless, dry and stale, bought at the supermarket. This was one of the most dissonant things within the structure, since sometimes the dinner was very good. Also, all tableware (glasses and dishes) are out of plastic, one-time use only. - Always related to the breakfast offer: the crostata was self-made, still the marmalade offered was the supermarket one, and not a self-made one. Now, related to other topics, we found the following disappointing: - The time window for breakfast is only one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30, even if you can find people having breakfast some time earlier - Our room (Le Pioppe) was very tiny and not good for a family with small kid(s): the bed is so close to the entrance door and the toilet wall, that you couldn't bring a stroller with cradle easily in. - The agriturismo, hence also the room, is next to main road, therefore very loud. - The room has no air conditioner, making it necessary at night to sleep with windows open. Unfortunately, due to the traffic on the main road and a very noisy fan just below the room, added to some random noisy guests, sleeping properly was difficult. - Internet is slow, so streaming works only in low quality and downloading takes ages. - The bathroom is basic at its best: no complimentary toiletries, only liquid soap available. Also, there are no proper stands for the towels and nothing to hold the toilet paper. There is no room for legs on the WC. - They advertise having a playground for the little ones. This is merely a single slide in front of the stinky pigs stable. Now, regarding the restaurant section: there have been days, in which the choice was good and quality too, others, instead, where the first course was always the same selection. Often you could tell the difference in offer and quality between the standard restaurant and the half-pension offers. Once we ordered some melon as dessert: we receied one and a half (!) slices each! An other day, instead, we got our first course and as second course a whole pig shin with potatoes, which ususally is a complete dinner on itself. On the very positive side instead: the staff has always been very kind and helpful. We had to end our stay one night earlier than planned and we didn't have to pay the night not spent, though August is high seasons and cancellation policies are very strict. Also, we had always the flexibility to change from the half-pension formula to ordering "à la carte" every night at the restaurant. It is possible the negative part of this reviews, or at least part of it, is due to some saving measures induced by the corona crisis. In summary: we wouldn't go back to the agriturismo, if not occasionally to eat at the restaurant.
