Greasy chairs in the restaurant, non-"fresh" covers of beds, too tiny shower room, poor soundproof and loud music from the restaurant till 1 A.M. I'd say "The place has a great location" but every place has such characteristic in Rakvere - the town is really small. Rooms don't have an air condition and it could be a problem in summer months. If you keep in mind, that the difference in the price isn't huge, I'd recommend to use the service of one of the "neighbors".

Vergi Maja guesthouse was built in 2012. It is located in an old fishing village of the same name in Vihula municipality in Lääne-Viru County, which forms part of Lahemaa National Park. The village was first mentioned in writing as far back as 1325. The guesthouse makes for ideal stay for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. When visiting us you can celebrate events, organise seminars or enjoy Estonian nature at its finest in the forest or by the sea. Lääne-Viru County offers pretty much everything in terms of nature - here you'll find the sea, deep forests, picturesque rivers and lakes, marshes and bogs and truly diverse flora and fauna. Man-made marvels are close at hand, too - Vihula, Sagadi and Palmse manors, Vergi and Altja fishing villages, medieval fortress ruins in Toolse and Rakvere, the Käsmu Maritime Museum and much, much more. You're welcome at our guesthouse all year round!

Street view apartment with slightly moldy smell. Overprized for the quality. Landlord with rude attitude upon arrival, when we decided not to pay the extra fee to "upgrade" for another apartment of a much better quality.

The farm is situated at the Lahemaa National Park, in a small fisherman village called Altja. We offer accommodation in the outbuildings of a historical farm complex. The sea, river, forest trails, and bicycling tracks are just a walk away.
We stayed 2 nights in early september and were a bit disappointed. We expected a cosy place with an authentic feeling, a place to meet and interact with local people. We also had understood that this was a place where we could have cooked our meal (a BBQ is mentioned and it says "outdoor cooking place"). But when we arrived and saw no such place, we asked about it. What was our surprise when the girl from the house got quite mad at us, saying we should have read the description better on booking.com. She said that there is no communal cooking place but just the BBQ. Unfortunatly it as out of order (a hole covering 2/3 of its bottom made it impossible for the coal to stay inside) and she said they only replace it in the begining of the season, that it was our choice to come out of the "season",... We had picked some mushrooms and bought some eggs and needed to cook them. We asked it a solution could be found and she was really angry about us, but finaly agreed that we use the breakfast kitchen for a few mn, but only this time and only for the mushroom. But when we started cooking the mother came and also got angry at us, saying she had work to do. The rest of the stay was smoother but still strict, not a happy feeling there. I need to add some precision too : when reading the other reviews it seemed that breakfasts were something worth trying. For 7€ per person we had everything one can ask at a breakfast table (cheese, ham, egg, cereals, milk, coffee, tea, bread, jam, butter, honey, juice, yogurt, porridge and some cookies/cake). It seems great but all these were of poor quality from the nearby supermarket. Nothing was homemade as I had read in some reviews. We saw the exact same bread, cakes,... in the shop in Vosu for cheap. I would have prefered less choice but more traditionnal and tasty (the ham and cheese and cake were tastless). Breakfast is served at 9 and at 10 we got kicked out of the room because she needed the place. Sauna cost 40€ for 2h and 10€ per extra hour. It's quite a price to pay for some almost free wood (and 2h to heat it), but the experience is still worth trying especialy if you share the price with other people. It's in a nice typical wooden house in the backyard with a place to change and an other to wash. It fits about 4 people. One double room (the one we had) is very nicely decorated with a cosy atmosphere, there is a fridge and a kettle (i wonder why the fridge if there is nowhere to cook though) and the bedding is wonderfull. We had some great nights there. There is no water in the room (sink, toilet,... whatsoever). One other double room is sharing the same entrance. This one doesn't have any fridge, just a kettle, and is not as beautiful as the one we had. Theses 2 rooms share the toilets and shower in a seperate room, accessible from the little coridor. There is a 3rd room with a seperate entrance which does have a cooking place, as we understood, but we didn't see it. I don't want to be all negative about the place because it has something, but our experience was not as pleasant as we'd expected. We were told that it's the first year that they had some tourists after august 31th, so maybe they just need to adapt to the fast transformation to the country.

This guesthouse awaits you in the seaside town of Võsu. Here you will find a wonderful beach, beautiful nature, as well as many sights and activities for those seeking an active vacation. We can provide a cosy hall with modern equipment for conducting seminars and a sauna with whirlpool bath for relaxation. Our chefs will prepare tasty lunches and dinners. We can also prepare party menus.
We didn’t enjoy our stay. Price is rather high for what we got. Bathroom was terribly old and needs upgrading. The room is not comfy, rather a place to just sleep. And sleeping is the problem. The walls are extremely thin and we could hear everything, including snoring of other guests. Also, children were running through the building until late in the night and it was very noisy. Staff did not react. The whole building creaks. The mattress was horrible and the pillows as well. Places like this should go out of business, so that more guests can stay at better places and support those who are performing properly.
