Reviewed By zmyusofStayed here for a night for my short trip this time. Decided to try something different from the usual hotel in Ipoh. Surprisingly nice and felt like i am transported to another continent. Property is extremely well kept and clean. Will come here again if ever in Ipoh.

Sarang Paloh is a heritage stay placed right in the middle of rich history and diversity of Ipoh town. Located on old Hugh Low Street (now Jalan Sultan Iskandar), the former OCBC headquarters has been restored, renovated, painted and made to look like how it was back in its day, pre-war time. Consisting of 11 rooms occupying the first floor, which was the original office floor.

Reviewed By ArneefmnPros: Classic heritage design - like a Peranakan style, instagramable spot, close to Concubine lane you just have to cross the road. Parking is opposite the hotel building. Kitchen area for dining and use of refrigerator. Cons: My room was facing the street. It can get noisy but they provided you with an earplug. No breakfast included.

Very bad service hotel and highly don’t recommend to stay this hotel. 3pm to check in and wait till 3:35pm to check in

And the service is truly disappointing and keep other customers waiting for room service for more than 35 minutes. Reason given is because lion dance event and keep all customers waiting for here more than an hour when all are tiring and exhausting after long journey from KL to Ipoh

Xscape Tambun is located at Sunway City Ipoh, where it takes about 1 minutes driving to The Lost World of Tambun Water Themed Park and around 12-15 minutes to Ipoh Town. Situated between hills, Xscape Tambun is a great tranquil place for soul and mind relaxing, also to stay up-close to nature. There are activities available as well, which is limestone hill climbing, cave adventure and flying fox. Xscape Tambun, definitely a best place for truly "escape" from city noise and chaos.

Surrounded by caves and birds chipping, this hotel gives a sense of tranquility and escapes from the city noise, yet it is only 10-15mins distance to ipoh city where u can easily access to any food. 2. Rooms are limited so there is not crowded, we enjoy the privacy and the silentness all day long. They play some zen music through public speaker also Rooms for improvement: 1. They provided bicycle but many of them are not well maintained. 2. They provided free breakfast - we stayed 2 nights, first day we had nasi ayam kunyit (spicy chicken rice), it is tasty but quite heavy to eat that early. luckily we able to have western breakfast on second day. i think they should provide options for us ;) oh another thing is, they will knock the door to inform "breakfast is here" at 8am, so do expect this free alarm clock also Overall, it is still recommend to come here for a short getaway.

Lack of hygiene spoiled the stay
Reviewed By waterlileeThere were clumps of dust and a very visible layer of dust under the double decker bed (was wondering what the white container under the bed was for, so peeked under the bed). Sand/concrete bits on the corner. Lumps of blue tack on the window. Funny smelling pillow, comforter and towel. Dusty table top and double decker frame. Smudges on mirror. No table/chair/top to place luggage. Can hear sand grits rubbing onto my luggage bag when placed on floor. Ring of horror in the toilet bowls, yeah the yucky ring around the water level ?. Sink doesn't seem to be cleaned (layer of soap sud/grime). No hand soap at the sinks (got some soap from the shower dispenser). Bits of trash in the corridor. This place WAS rated highly for being clean. NOT anymore. Won't be a next time. It's unfortunate for this beautifully done up place. Interior features are impressive. Lack of hygiene totally drove stay experience in the wrong direction.

Noticed the reception has changed to a bigger space with a sitting area for guest which this is a good point to do. All equipment in the rooms are still brand new. Well done to M Motel Management & staff.

Small and a bit rundown
Reviewed By ChrisLee146Room relatively quite small compare to others. The hotel was not well maintained. There were a lof of flies and mosquitoes. Bed was placed in a awkward position. However, if you are solo traveller like me and all you need is a place to crash over, well then this is worth considering. This hotel offering the most basic of all, no satelitte TV, slow WiFi, no fancy bathroom or shower gel.

The staff even help to sent the bag to room and collect the bag too.. even offered buggy service. definitely going to come here again. but for additional, management can reconsider to let guest to swim in the pool without swimming attire. or if they can sell swimming attire with affordable price so people can swim and hotel can make sales hahaha win win situation right? ??
